So good to get news from you Todd :-) Amazing lifestyle you and your lovely partner have. I'm really happy after watching your great video. All the best to you two. Mick here, in Canada :-)
Enjoyed that crossing and watching with interest in case you encounter my old boat - Newick 35 trimaran FinePitch - she is doing charter work out of a resort on the west coast. Would also be interested in a tour of your cat
Great Stuff! I remember crossing the Atlantic once and I was doing my night watch, the boat hit a shoal of Flying fish ...and it felt like they were attacking me they flew straight onboard and a few hit me in the face and body,I did not enjoy being hit in the face. This in fact happened often then the next morning scoop them up (dead ones) and throw them back into the ocean.
you took a very direct route from Sumatra to Madagascar, via the ITCZ. How much fuel did you leave with and how much was left when you hit Madagascar. We are leaving from Phuket in May but planning to go to 10S-12S asap to pick up the trades, I am concerned about getting becalmed and having to motor a lot.
Hi Roger. Our records show 68 hours motoring. Burn rate of 2.5 liters per hour. We carry 1000 lt of fuel. You will burn a bit of fuel to get to 10 S where you will hopefully pick up the S.E trades. Sea state will be a little more uncomfortable down there, the ocean has a 3 wave action. That is to say the waves come from 3 different directions which can be very uncomfortable.
@@LifestyleBalanceLattieTodd great response, we have enough fuel capacity to do 180hrs @ 4knots, so even if we we are becalmed for a while we can get to 10S or 12S. We will follow you course but head to Rodrigues and Mauritius. Thanks for the help I will follow you journey with great interest., wishing you fair winds
Have sailboat in Langkawi. I am looking to bring to East coast of US. Transport is very expensive, so looming into sailing her. In the preliminary stage now. Interested to know what resources you used to plan your passage. Enjoy the video.
Hi Robert, We can help you with that info, send us an email to alifestylebalance@gmail.com We look forward to hearing from you. Regards Todd and lattie
