Stephen and John Oliver together is always a relaxing treat. Two of the most unpretentious gentlemen on television giggling at the world and each other.
Agreed but can we *_please_* stop calling it that? They're audiocasts. The other feels wrong after the pandemic and even before the pandemic it was strange....folks hurling pods...pods of what, exactly, I have no clue.

John is very humble regarding the audience. Usually the spots fill up in 30 minutes and that is months in advance (this was before the pandemic). I am pretty sure it's fully booked already for the season.

I don't know if Jon Stewart had an eye for talent or the Daily Show was a classroom where people grew into being brilliant or what... but there is such a similarity in their senses of humor as two different generations of TDS. They're both so brilliant and wiping away tears at the 'letting a line breathe' bit.
Jon Stewart has the incredible ability to spot, encourage and nurture authenticity in empathetic and intelligent people. Those three things every time: intelligence, empathy, authenticity in every one of his picks.
Everyone from that show rocks, more the first wave then the late comers though. It’s funny how all the late night people do are either from The Daily Show or SNL
If you can, watch the Smartless podcasts with Jon Stewart. He explains so much about his time on the show and his process while there. And it's funny af.

Sometimes it's not even about the number of syllables. It could be about the flow of the word. It always makes sense when writing, but sometimes saying a word, rather than saying an abbreviation comes out more smoothly despite having more syllables.
