It would be interesting to do a deep dive into boy groups and their overlong history of passing off bullying as "friendly banter". It's such an ingrained thing in the industry that it's actually seen as doing members a favour when they're being told they're fat and ugly, and I think maybe it's time we talked about it and hopefully start to change it.

@@i_mirage If you talk only about relationship between the members, they always talk to each other like that in a 'friendly banter', most of the time they are like that towards Changbin, but there are also many examples when they say something to Han or Felix. And also Hyunjin? hello? he apologized to the person that he bullied at school because his career would be over, it was last year lol he was close to being kicked out just like woojin, but they couldn't kick out the most popular member, right? I wonder how he acts behind closed doors.

@@i_mirage I can say that i had few different opinions. Firstly i saw some compilations (what first i found on YT) where they were depict like rude, ignorant and mocking persons. I was like "i don't like how they behave". But there was no context so i watched some vlives, blogs, talkers and my favourite nowadays two kids room. And after this i understand their relationship better. I'm not assuming that i understand that fully. No one except of them can. But after watching this things i can clearly see how the same situation can be inverted if someone decided to do this like this compilations around YT. Also a lot of people have different "pain points" and what people assuming like mocking for some people just a joke even its about them. So now i see them as normal people with normal behavior, more like friends and sibling acting, not bullying or mocking.

Can I tell you what made me uncomfortable these past weeks?
It’s how much hate Tae has gotten since the airport situation. So many are throwing such horrible words to Tae not knowing the situation.
So as I heard from different karticles about it, it’s that when waiting for Lisa, Bogum, Tae, it started to rain and the security had told the “fans” to go home as the situation could become really dangerous. They didn’t listen and if I remember correctly, there started fights between fans(reasoning behind it: so that they could get at the front for the better picture etc)
As it all was happening, Lisa came and waved and got in the car. Situation became worse, cause everyone started rushing to get the pics etc.
Security saw all that and said to Tae to go as fast as possible to the car so that the situation couldn’t get worse. In the end, everyone called him arrogant, cold even tho, when driving away, he waved at them through window.
So the first thing is that even tho he waved at the “fans”, he could’ve not done it and it would be okay cause if you’re a fan, you would have stayed at home, respected their privacy’s as it could make them uncomfortable and of course dangerous. That’s sasaeng behavior. Like how many times Idols have been mobbed and harassed at the airport. STAY AT HOME! They don’t own you nothing. Know your place.
The second thing is all the people who are saying “ if it was a female idol, they would have gotten so much hate” etc. So many are hiding behind this statement and calling him horrible names and ignoring the fact that right now, they are the ones hating on him.
Also agree on all you have said, great video🥰

You guys are right she doesn't have to learn about my culture if she is not interested.BUT BUT BUT .....SHE BETTER STAY AWAY FROM MY CULTURE AND DOESN'T MOCK IT . If she did that move she must have seen the dance and without thinking twice that it maybe someones culture she did that . Also for those people who are saying why targetting only Giselle other idols do it too. Well it's not just about giselle we call every idol who mocks our culture but people like you come and start defending them because of which they never learn and the cycle continues .
You guys don't understand how a person feels when they spend 9 to 10 years to learn an art form but people start making fun of it because it looks weird to them . Imagine seeing people doing such step on tiktok and social media without knowing they are mocking our culture just because their favourate idols did it . Please make a video about the dance move issue it really needs to be addressed. As an Indian Classical Dancer myself, we are taught the significance of mudras and what they mean. I have made threads 2 times explaining why its wrong to do this and always there are people like: "Oh I am desi and not offended" or "Bollywood does this" which is annoying considering being desi doesnt mean yk about it unless you have learnt it. Indian classical dances are said to have been performed in front of Hindu Gods and the dances are used to depict instances that you would read about or see in shows dedicated to Ramayana or Mahabharata or even random instances related to Hindu Gods. There is no restriction such as "Only Hindus/Desis can do Indian Classical Dances" it only asks for respect. That brings me to the 2nd statement about bollywood which is have you ever seen how bollywood always makes mockery of things? They literally made a movie called Dostana where the leads pretend to be gay so that they can get the girl they have a desire for and you think they would represent something correctly? You are a moron to believe bollywood (except for a few movies like the Kashmir Files which is based on actual incidents)

honestly it's really sad what happens to haechan since debut until now, they don't stop talking sh*t about his skin color and his weight. It's crazy bcs even when haechan is not there they keep bringing his weight and his skin color. the worst of it all is to see people from the fandom defending these attitudes, making unreasonable comparisons and using the "they are friends" card.
i never forget the expression on haechan's face in a "ridin" era video when jisung told him to stop eating because he was fat. when he made that expression and lowered his head a little, seriously it left me with a mixture of anger and sadness. It's been years and nothing changes. that's why i don't support jisung anymore.

The ones that don't really criticize Jisung were Dreamzens, you know that many are secretly Haechan's haters, so they always ignore the attacks on him, but the rest of the fandom did criticize, and honestly with what you say I feel that I agree a little, the other members have learned and left that but what about him and jeno? I give them the opportunity even because I think that now with their tour where they will meet and meet different types of people, this may teach them to be more respectful because they are no longer in the Korean bubble, but if this continues like this then I think that up to here arrive with him.

as nctzen but also Sunflower (Haechan fans) you really have to stop generalizing and wanting to stain the entire group (all the members), they speak as if all of nct did it or continues to do it when it's not like that, with the only members that there has been a problem in these times (I mean currently) it was with jisung (and I think jeno) but for the rest no one has said something like that to haechan again, and also if nobody deletes the videos or censors Those parts are like this because they don't see it as a problem, for Korean society it's normal to talk about it like this, that's why the editor doesn't even insist on removing it or something, because they see it as normal, but as I already told you, nct really hasn't back to being like this and only by one member, it cannot be condemned that supposedly everyone is still the same, and well, let's hope that with the criticism that nctzen gave Jisung this time, it won't happen again, but they wouldn't have to give a public apology either because it was something between them, as colleagues and friends and they are going to talk about it in private and the apology same.
I also think that something that helps groups to open their minds is when they go beyond Korea/Asia, nctdream that some members would be the current problem, with their tour and that's how they already left Korea and have already met many different type fans, so I hope this helps become more aware.

So i just hope NCT and Enhypen members can at least talk about it and apologize and never do it again in the future to Sunoo and Haechan, it’s just up to them to forgive or not. Besides, i don’t think NCT dream actually don’t care about Haechan considering the fact that they literally grow up together, it’s just that they don’t know that their teasing might cause harm to Haechan so i really hope they sincerely apologize to him even if we don’t know it. Things like this… if it keeps going on, it doesn’t matter if it’s your family or close friend as long as you apologize way too late your relationship is bound to get ruined so i hope they solve this early (both the group). For the Giselle case I get all the backlash she got since her n word controversy.. But I feel like this generation with the development of social media and the internet hold every living creature accountable for "being offensive" towards their culture.. You don't expect idols to know about every single thing from every single culture cuz it's unrealistic.. I would rather take such situations as an opportunity to teach said idols about the culture not scrutinize their existence *not even getting a result out of it*... This generation tend to lash out about the smallest things.. So when real issues and cultures are disrespected purposefully its not even gonna be taken seriously cuz this generation is looked at as bunch of whiney teens.. and this is coming from a fan who's culture and religion been disrespected before by ignorance.. What Giselle did was pure ignorance.. And you're not gonna tell me that she thought oh wait let me do the dance and laugh afterwards to mock that specific culture.. It's spontaneous.. Just cuz we're behind screen we feel secure to feel mad at public figures.. But if we follow this generation's logic every single one of us has disrespected a culture in the world at least once in their lives starting from me.. Let's get rid of cancel culture rather educate people.

you know, I'm not desi so I cannot say whether or not you guys should feel offended. That being said I think there is a different between mocking and just doing simple gestures. Also, I understand it is unrealistic for them to know every cultures in the world and to understand the taboos, the dos and donts but we shouldn't just let them go and be ignorant. What she did IS SPONTANEOUS but that is the problem! Why is the first reaction when you are doing someone else's dance or following someone else's culture laughing?? That's really weird if you ask me and that also shows what you thought of said dance.

I doubt that she laughed at the dance specifically she was laughing with fans.. Cuz let's think logically for a sec.. Her being an idol her whole career depends on weather people like her or not why would she go all the way to a specific Indian dance *I personally didn't knew it until now* and mock the dance out of the blue.. It was ignorant from her part which is excusable the first time.. If someone repeats the same mistake twice here I agree with the whole holding her accountable thing

@@evelina2060 you know that when something is spontaneous, it reflects on how the person is thinking and how they perceive things. Because it is subconscious they don't have time to think about it. My question is why is the first thing you do when you do that gesture, that I believe she knows belongs to certain cultures (because we know a lot of kpop idols have been called out because of this), is to laugh at it? Furthermore, why did she do it in the first place? Clearly she finds it so amusing that she laughs like that. In this day, it is impossible to not know about cultural appropriation and stuff. And as much as I want to understand her, she doesn't learn from the n word incident. One time is an honest mistake, but repeating it again when you are clearly in the face of the public just plain ignorant and dumb if you ask me. If she genuinely cared she would've learned.

The discussion here is not solely about the dance specifically but rather a discussion about scrutinizing idols each time they "offend" a culture.. Some desis were offended while others WERE NOT.. check in the comment.. Which side should we take.. And us not being part of the culture doesn't mean we can't think and differenciate between what's offensive or not.. There's a fine line between being ignorant and being racist or mock other cultures and we tend to blur that line out and THAT makes the whole difference

about the haechan thing... even if they are 'friends joking around with each other', it doesn't mean it's not wrong?? i mean, they should watch their words, they are well known celebrities. how can they make fun of a member's body and skin tone in front of a camera and expect the fans to not get mad and offended? don't they know that they also have fans with darker skin and more weight and that their comments and 'jokes' might be offensive? just because they didn't have the intention to hurt someone, it doesn't mean they didn't. btw haechan isn't even fat, they just like to make fun of him. spreading all that 'be yourself, be beautiful' message while saying those things is the actual joke here.

I don't expect Japanese/ Korean people to know everything about our culture since we don't know about their culture either

    Everybody wants change
    Nobody wanna change though
    Nobody wanna pray
Till they got something to pray for
    Everybody's gonna die
    But don't everybody live though
Sometimes I look up to the sky
And wonder do you see us down here?
Oh Lord, do You see us down here?
It's easy to blame God but harder to fix things
We look in the sky like, "why ain't You listening?"
Watching the news in our living rooms on the big screens
And talking about "if God's really real, then where is He?"
You see the same God that you're saying might not even exist
Becomes real to us, but only when we're dying in bed
When ya healthy it's like, we don't really care for Him then
Leave me alone God, I'll call you when I need you again
Which is funny, everyone will sleep in the pews
Then blame God for our problems like He sleeping on you
We turn our backs on Him, what do you expect Him to do?
It's hard to answer prayers when nobody's praying to you
I look around at this world we walk on
It's a smack in the face, don't ever tell me there's no God
And if there isn't then what are we here for?
And what are y'all doing down there?
    I don't know Lord

I mostly agree but people have seem to forgotten that just because kpop is now worldwide doesn't mean that it now jas adjusted to that and is opened up to the world. Have people forgotten how conservative Korea is? I'm talking about the Giselle and nct thing and the similar cases. Yes it wrong and they are in the wrong but they look at how much it happens in kpop you don't think that they do it just because they want to be racist and colorist and disrespectful? They ARE uneducated they seriously do not know. Kpop being as big as it is now doesn't suddenly shine a light of understanding on them. They likely won't learn from their mistakes and how much of the education will be translated to them. The company probably just says just apologize and say you didn't know, without them actually knowing what they did wrong and nobody to tell them. Sm isn't going to take the time to educate the idols about different cultures and what is and isn't acceptable. They are surround by people who think it is okay and have grown up thinking it is okay and will continue to have that message fed into their brain.
