Working till 60 is just not an option anymore due to toxic workplaces. You either value your life/health or money in such jobs.

Subra, RE folks are over worked people whose balls get squeezed ever minute in their work… imagine being called every alternate day at 2 am to attend emergency work, would you not want to retire early if in those situations? Jobs nowadays aren’t easy

Retiring early doesn’t mean sitting at home and twiddling thumbs. It’s just not working just for the sake of putting food on the table. That said, RE is worth only with FU money with a corpus size that lets you ignore inflation, and allows a weekend getaway drive on a weekday.

Retiring early is just a Fad to cover up if you are struggling with your present career. One really needs to develop work life balance to be happy and enjoy the career you choose. Unfortunately in India and many Asian countries people are bogged down with work and this creates the need to break the stress one goes through daily. Frankly I don't know how this can be done with a work culture like ours.

Good one sir. Love your videos which stand out from the crowd. People in late 40's or 50's are treated very badly by companies. Many didn't have luxury of passion or 2nd hustle. Can one say my key talent (other than my expertise in current job which is not usable in other companies readily) is to board crowded mumbai local and stand in crowd for 3 hrs a day.
Upskilling doesn't work for everyone and beyond a certain level. Especially in IT / ITES the industry is still evolving and only managerial role is available beyond certain age. Consultant and technical expert/sme roles are still evolving. So people get lot of unethical pressure branding etc and if they quit out of frustration they cannot find another job.
Also better to look at life expectancy in one's family circle. We may get around same + bonus of few more years due to advancements in medical technologies.

Thank you very much for the video.I personally am inclined to Early retirement videos not because I want to retire early but because of the insecurity of loosing job early.

Life has much to offer other than a 9-5 job. Anyone who can think beyond the norms can stand a good chance to pull off RE once FI is achieved.

77 years life expectancy is from birth. Not from age 60.

If there r health issues it's better to retire... I've seen some of my colleagues die all of a sudden post covid... Govt jobs r more traumatic now.... the computer software on which the work is done always buffering... boss wants the work to be finished timely very well knowing this pathetic situation... work environment is toxic..... every year there is fear of transfer... which the superior bosses enjoy doing... I'm 55 yrs young & worried how the next 4/5 yrs will pass.. Thinking of putting in my papers but the fear of what I'll do at home stops me frm doing it..... situation i'm in nobody understands..

You have to find the answer yourself sir. Other than finance you also have to look at life expectancy in your family etc.
