This is amazing. On my server I have a blacksmith shop similar in concept (for enchanted bows/arrows/bones I’ve acquired on mass from grinding at my personal skeleton farm.) I have signs everywhere that say things like “ethically sourced” “no depletion to wild populations of skeletons” and “support small businesses for sustainability” 😂

I kind of feel like Mumbo's burnout hiatus has gotten all Hermits to think a bit about their own health and projects. I feel as if most have scaled down this season and are focusing on what makes them happy, which in turn makes their content lively and nice to watch.
Tbh, good for them. But I think some people are criticism on some of the hermits that decided to make huge megabases, like doc for various of reasons. Like come on now. It's their base.
It could also be another short season so they know to not make too big of a commitment

that's a feature that was added a while back, presumably to allow speedrunners to verify runs better. Every loot table has its own separate seed based on the world seed, meaning everything from block drops to fishing to piglin trading and blaze rod drops are entirely predictable if you know the world seed. There's actually a couple seeds that people have found with interesting properties since this happened, like one where the first three gravel broken always drop flint, or the first three wither skeletons you kill will always drop their skulls
its likely also just way easier programming-wise. games like stardew valley do the same thing

the painting getting brighter is due to the vignette. Everything at the border of your screen gets brighter when you look straight at it, but because this is a bright flat texture it's way more noticeable
21:10 the reason for that effect is that you have vignette on, it creates a sort of subtle shadow gradient effect starting from the outside of the screen and moving inward
This season of Hermitcraft feels completely different from the others. I’ve watched 10 or so different perspectives of this season and you all seem so much more free. The energy is much more genuine, and less like a forced work environment. So much more fun, you guys did something right. Got me back into playing Minecraft again :)

The bit with Scar at the end made me realize something. Grian killing anyone who fishes up a mending book without uttering a word should become a recursive bit. I could well envision him gradually becoming some kind of fishing cryptid that appears whenever someone fishes up the book.
Wherever he is on the server he just KNOWS. The beard regrows, and he appears to rise out of the sea next to whoever it is.

At this point, Grian's first shop on the server just has to be fishing themed. Just him selling all the stuff he fished out the water that he just does not need. He'd probably never have to restock it, because the supply will always be greater than the demand.

What makes the ending even more perfect is that it was Scar, who last episode refused to get mending from the villagers in solidarity with Grian.
I get that a lot of this is scripted, but what makes Hermitcraft so great are the little bits that there is no humanly way to plan. Like this. Also, because it's "secret" no one at the time knew he had just spent 15 hours building a temple of manifestation for that book. So they don't understand just how deep the emotions were that went into that Scar gank.
Afaik, the only real scripted things are the group projects. You can’t script Scar getting the mending book 😂
I think the script part is when things happen and everyone just decides to hop in the hype train. Other than that you won't know what script you're gon get

Just wanted to say it’s so refreshing to see a popular youtuber build the way I build. I don’t use Litematica, so my build always consists of copious amounts of inefficient scaffolding of random blocks, carving and shaping spaces of import before actually building, and then detailing them.
I feel like for years I was just watching minecraft builders 3D print amazing builds, and it denied me as a viewer the opportunity to see the creative process, and learn from it.
This was so real, and I loved it, thank you. 💚
Grian, this is, by far, my favourite episode of Hermitcraft ever for so many reasons (the build, the music, the ending 10/10)

@@bananabro1010 I think that was the reason he kind of quit hermitcraft 9 so early. He wasn’t having fun. He was too focused on not starting wars and it caused him to burn out. At least I think so. Just want the dude to enjoy what he does.

I both hate and love how mystical you have managed to make this silly fish mending shrine, honestly feels like one of those movies where the main character stumbles through a cave into a mysterious world
But here the main character is slowly going insane for no mending

Seeing that painting in the game really makes me feel that some sort of painting system in minecraft would be really cool where it would basically just be pixel art but you need to collect the dye for the paint and can mix them together for more colours as well as being able to use water to reduce opaqueness

Add a wooden pressure plate behind the mending book in the painting, so that when you fish mending book in the painting, it opens another treasure room where you can frame the mending book you fished.
I really hope that Grian sees this.
I'm think the reason the hook landed like it did is because the painting is an entity, so the fishing rod will always hook the painting (immediately snapping to its center) and therefore can't go behind it to touch pressure plates. Not 100% sure though.

The reason the painting seems to get brighter is because you have vignette enabled, it basically makes the edges of your screen darker. Not trying to shatter the magic but that’s just how it works. 😅

the reason it gets brighter is because minecraft has a vignette, a very subtle dark fade around the edge of the screen that darkens toward the end of the screen, and the painting has very different colors to the walls, making it more noticeable on it

Can I just say how SHOCKED I was during that timelapse and how joyful it made me? First of all, the music choice was impeccable for the style of build. Second, the build. Omg the build! It is absolutely gorgeous! The block pallet, the moss, the overgrown feel, like it actually feeeels like I just stumbled upon a mystical secret cave, straight out of a fantasy novel. Huge fan of this episode.

I have watched so much Minecraft over the years and that timelapse literally gave me goosebumps.. it was perfect! Grian set the standard in hermitcraft with this episode in my book (no pun intended).
Imagine if he had all the resources power and time. Everytime he describes it and doing Timelapse, in my imagination it was sooooo grand mystical and fantasy like scene of looking a giant dignified cod fish statues staring at you in a far distant in the shades of the shadow with all the waterfall dropping down and all the cave forest dungeon like vibe
this is unironically my favorite arc. honestly I think it still counts as a slow start because if you think about it, nothing is being accomplished. Grian has been consumed by the sea and it’s beautiful. the music for that timelapse was so enthralling, I love the chamber of destiny
