Hi, I'm one of the two devs who made Silicon Dreams. Thanks so much for covering our weird little game! I'm so glad you had a great time with it and it sparked some thoughts - as you said, it's not for everyone but it seems to really click with some people. :) (Also I've been watching Errant Signal for years so I'm hugely chuffed I made it on here ^-^ )
I backed your Kickstarter way back when. I was really bummed when it didn't get funded, but I'm glad that you got this game made and it's getting some attention!
@@Jekyllstein_Gray Yes, it was kind of a miracle it got made in the end, but we got lucky! I think my philosophy atm is "If nobody is going to stop us, we'll keep making these strange, interesting games as long as we can." Thanks for backing all the way back in 2020, and keeping an eye on the project even after it didn't make it!
Holy shit the firefighter game. That children mode is such a freaking good idea. My kid is obsessed with firefighters in ways only an ASD can be, and the "real" game would be too much, even though he'd be dying to be able to play it. Instead, he can watch someone play the game and play it himself too and enjoy both!
@That Hippie Gamer Haha that's awesome to hear. For the last year and a half my kid has been playing Lego City Undercover pretty much daily, which is itself "GTA for Kids". He was doing the firefighter segments over and over. But this game looks great. Pretty excited to try it.
The Bladerunner test that Chris talks about has also been made into a two-player board game for anyone curious. It's called "Inhuman Conditions" and I highly recommend it. One person is the detective who just wants to catch the androids, while the other player takes on a new identity each game that may or may not be human. It's all about being quick-witted and out-maneuvering your opponent in conversational battle.
Silicon Dreams seems like a Cyberpunk "Papers, Please!" and that seems right up my alley. Been aware of Demon Turf since the demo, too, and I'm waiting for a good moment to dive into it.
Related to silicon dreams, I recently played subsurface circular and loved it. It’s a short game that revolves around one intense choice that really sticks with you.
Always impressed by your blips! While sometimes you cover the indie smash hits you always throw stuff in that seems truly unknown or small and in need of attention. Happy to see a new vid!
Nuclear Blaze reminds me of this ps2 era Konami Firefighting game called Firefighter FD18. Lots of that territorial control and mechanics like backdraft but it also made boss fights out of the worst and wildest fires people have had to put out.
Rayze seems strongly in the genre of Lovely Planet, a classic that i love very much and im surprised there aren't already 1600 comments comparing them lol. Neat how clicking a target makes you move towards it so they can get some mileage out of "you can hit this but it means you'll take a different path"
silicon dreams is legitimately one of the most refreshing games i've ever played. i'm really glad you covered it. maybe it'll inspire more people either play or develop more games like it.
I'm glad to see another episode in this excellent series! I really appreciate the depth you go into on these titles, it's a great balance between breadth and depth.
Love Blips so much! being presented with games i never heard about in a compact summary and "sale pitch" is just sublime. If you're looking for some recent under-the-rader releases here's a few: Fights in Tight Space, Garlic, Moncage, The Alien Cube, qomp, Exo One, The Signal State. Much love ✌❤
Even with the small snippet from this episode, Subway Midnight instantly looks like a tech demo with all of the post-processing and audio design, but people still unfortunately see sprites as "archaic". Impressed they got that degree of A/V shine on a smaller scale.
Very cool. Appreciate these type of vids. Games I haven't heard of because they might not be covered by online publications I visit, or I might have missed when said game was covered, but I don't necessarily read about games on a daily basis so these little games can easily fall through the cracks.
Nice variety of games! Silicon Dream sounds interesting to me (although I wish they were a bit more subtle with the Blade Runner influence) and perhaps Subway Midnight - although I'm worried that the story will be too 'light' for my tastes.
Subway midnight's art style reminded me of Psychonaut's figments and that's what drew me to the game, havent played it yet but it does look very interesting
I love your selection of games in Blips. In general, most/all of them look interesting, 2-3 look like something i'd want to try, and at least one of them i'm sure i'd enjoy. And of course big thanks for letting me know Going Under exists - i love it to this day and i'd never find it if not for binge watching first few Blips episodes a year ago.
You're game reccomendations are so unique, insightful and somehow exactly what I enjoy I have to be careful to only watch them with disposable income available.
I hope Chris has settled into a more sustainable groove with the channel in recent months. Whatever form it's in, I'm always happy to listen to his insights. Silicon Dreams reminds me strongly of Papers, Please, in that you are stuck between a rock (your moral compass) and a hard place (the agenda of your ruthless dictatorial overlords) and complex scenarios get explored through one, spatially confined set of mechanics. Definitely going to check it out.
As always, really good video. Thank you for putting the name of any new game you present in the corner. I really like and appreciate that. Your cadence is really clear and I like your writing. I think I'll look into Nuclear Blaze. I need to find a good, short, not too difficult, narrative game to try to get back into gaming. I only have a few hours a week and I end up going back to the same old games which feels unfulfilling most of the time. Inscryption was an awesome blast but now I'm at the 3rd act and I'm not having as much fun because they changed up the mechanics too much. It's a slog right now because I chose poorly at the beginning. Would recommend nonetheless. Thanks again for the video!
It’s been awhile man, glad to have another one of these videos! Love to see the games your recommend, I feel like you try out games in steam that most don’t highlight.

I'm not sure if mateyboy reads the comments but I really appreciate his videos. His chilled out introspection is really nice.
He's easily one of the top 5 gaming channels on TH-cam in my opinion. Deserves way more subs too

Silicon Dreams sounds like a sci-fi psychological Papers Please, and that sounds very much like my jam.

I've played Inhuman Conditions as well and agree it's fun. Note there's a free downloadable version and a great review over at Shut Up and Sit Down.
Just finished the first evaluation in Silicon Dreams.
I feel like a fucking monster who should be put out of his misery.
This is great!
im surprised i've actually seen 2 of these games before, Demon Turf and Subway Midnight, never got any of them, but good to see you talking about them
Silicon Dreams seems like a Cyberpunk "Papers, Please!" and that seems right up my alley. Been aware of Demon Turf since the demo, too, and I'm waiting for a good moment to dive into it.
Silicon Dreams seems very much in the vein of Papers Please. Interesting!
Related to silicon dreams, I recently played subsurface circular and loved it. It’s a short game that revolves around one intense choice that really sticks with you.
Demon Turf is an immediate buy from me. I love that art style. Subway Midnight is coming soon after.
Always impressed by your blips! While sometimes you cover the indie smash hits you always throw stuff in that seems truly unknown or small and in need of attention. Happy to see a new vid!
silicon dreams is one of those games where i think id be TOO invested. id send a bot to the scrapper and cry irl
I think that's why I can't play it. I'd personally want to free all of them so I'd have a very hard time doing anything different
@@The_Jovian sitting at my computer tears in my eyes "what do you MEAN i cant just be nice to everyone and everything will turn out ok........."

Silicon Dreams and Demon Turf seem like they'd be right up my alley. Excited to give them a try
Great video as usual!

I missed this, great that it's back!

I saw subway midnight on twitter originally. Looks really good.

When every damn good videogame essayist uploaded a video on new year's eve, I screamed "CHRIS WHERE ART THOU". There you are
I've been playing Silicon Dreams for the past few days and am obsessed. such a cool and interesting game

A really cool mix of games! Demon Turf in particular looks really cool
Oh boy I was hoping you'd mention Subway Midnight - what a great visual experience ^^
I miss this so much! Thank you for your work Errant!!
Lovely video as usual - i was familiar with some of the games already, but some were new to me, and i always appreciate the perspectives brought here.
i just happened to randomly happen upon this and i’ve gotta say this is an intriguing 20 minutes i’ve stumbled upon
Such great games in this episodes. Would love to try some of them. Silicon dreams looks good
Subway midnight's art style reminded me of Psychonaut's figments and that's what drew me to the game, havent played it yet but it does look very interesting
thank u 4 highlighting these particular games !!!! your taste is gr8
The gasp I made when I saw a new Blips was live! DEFNITELY checking out Silicon Dreams and Subway Midnight, they look awesome!
I feel like this blips is the first time I had not heard of or seen any of the games mentioned.
I was excited to see new reviews! Silicon Dreams sounds exactly up my alley.
I haven’t watched the video yet but the wash of calm that overcame me when I saw this video, was desperately needed. Finally some serenity

youre pitch for subway midnight made me get the game - im excited to play it :D
Really appreciate these little game round ups
Well, instantly bought Nuclear Blaze upon seeing your review of it, thank you for informing me that it exists! ^w^
I’ve just found your channel mere minutes ago, but i’m glad you’re back regardless
100% sold on subway midnight, thank you so much

Thanks again for the video!
Thanks for the gamut of game recommendations. I always enjoy the thoughts you get me to think.
Beebz follows that superChad lifestyle. Decides one day she's going to be the Demon Queen and then just outright goes to do it.
The king is back. Love your vids and their chilled vibe
I wish to thank you for making this series!
Always a delight to see more blips 💜💜💜
Great Video but I feel it's a disservice to Demon Turf to not mention how well the soundtrack makes the game's vibe sing.
I'm always excited to see a new Blips. You've introduced me to so many wonderful games that I do not think I would've found otherwise. ^^
ProbablyJacob did a really solid review of Demon Turf, highly recommend the watch of anyone is interested in that game!
I love blips! All these games sound so int3eresting and I'll recommend this vid to some friends, see if they wanna stream any of these :D
YES! I love this series! So excited to see more indies
Will be edited, I'm sure, but... Wow.
@@postjm9 Short for undeniably good indies ;)
Great episode as always! I want to play 3 of these like immediately
I loved your suggestions! I will try to play them all!
That demon game looks like if Heaven's Vault was a 3D platformer.
I fuckin love these blip videos
Always love your videos! There's always something in here I hadn't heard of, and your thoughts on each game are wonderful and insightful, as always.
Demon Turf's developers previous game, Slime-san is a great platformer too.
Thanks so much for taking about these indy games.
omg I missed your take on games so much!
your videos always make me smile
Hell yeeeeeeaaah new showcase!
Liking how you get right to it too
I got Silicon Dreams already, just need to find time to play. Looking forward to checking out some of the others.
Always happy to see a new episode
I finished reading bladerunner (do androids dream of electric sheep) today, what a coincidence
ooh Demon Turf looks extremely like my kinda thing. Plus it has that 3D world with 2D characters style that I dig in early 3D games.
Another great video. May need to pick up a few of these.
More 2D in 3D space stuff! luv them!
Definitely gonna give subway midnight a try!
This channel and Defunctland must be vocal twins.
Love this series. Well done!
I _almost_ picked up Demon Turf during the Epic sale. Probably should've pulled the trigger.
You've given me many great tips to games I've loved!
You sold me on Silicon Dreams.
OK. Getting Subway Midnight now
Pretty cool video definitely gonna check out Silicon Dreams.
Good to see you back in the saddle.
demon turf looks adorable!
SILICONE DREAMS sounds interesting
Woo! I am glad to see some more stuff from you!
Interesting games! I always love your videos!
"without being a 20 year old who dedicates all of their time to a single game" ouch that one hurt
13:30 cloudbuilt/super cloudbuilt did a similar thing but still had a lives system, with placing checkpoints refilling lives
0:50 - For some reason, some blips of this remind me of Sink or Swim
If Rayze is something that you liked, Verlet Swing is very much in the same vein, but vaporwave instead of techno/cyberpunk
Honey wake up, Errant Signal just uploaded another banger
I was not even aware aim training was a thing till this video, feel more out of touch finding out lol
Demon turf looks amazing!
It’s been awhile man, glad to have another one of these videos! Love to see the games your recommend, I feel like you try out games in steam that most don’t highlight.
Glad to see you making videos again
This is great! Rayze looks fun.
a new blips, yaay, ty for this video campster!
Right, I need to finish Silicon Dreams
Silicon dreams sounds like the best game for a sci-fi literature graduated nerd...
Great video, and good selection of games :)
