Hi David. Thank you so much for participating! What a great introduction to your channel.
Thank you! It was a super engaging series of prompts.
I knew I would enjoy you doing this tag. It acts as a pointed way to hear you discuss your process and progress as you read more carefully and regularly. I find the focus on feel in your responses refreshing, a description in each case of your experiences as opposed to rigid, pragmatic advice. Currently halfway through. I'll have to finish the rest tomorrow. But thank you for contributing your honest insights. Yours is one of the sets of responses I looked forward to most.
Very interesting topic - I’m looking forward to Part 2 which one of you guys promised. 😂
@@davidnovakreadspoetry Yes, it'll be a second, separate tag, more focused on books we're excited to read.
Amen to not making reading speed the goal. Enjoyment, however you define it, should be the goal. So I guess if reading fast is what you enjoy then that is actually an ok goal. Always enjoy hearing the word persnickety.
I understand the goal, but more realize that there are trade-offs. Probably the best way to increase speed is just to get better at reading by doing it, as with any task.
When we want to read, actually prioritizing reading is the key, isn’t it? Booktube is one of the things that I prioritize, but not as much as reading-or writing, sometimes.
It’s taken a while to dawn on me. 😂
Great answers and discussion David. Liked your thoughts on classics still being regular books. I also need to get my hands on more Moses Finley since you've brought him up several times now with high praise
He was a great introduction to history writing for me (historiography 😂) so as a pro reader you may have a different response.
Hi David. I really enjoyed your responses to this tag. I’m thinking about doing this one too. Very thought-provoking.
I hope you do! I’m sure you have something valuable to impart.
@@davidnovakreadspoetry I actually did do it. It will be visible late tonight/early tomorrow. 😊
Just heard the news! LOL! No need to look for the video! I can't even remember what that tag was, but I know it was one that I really messed up due to my lack of concentration! It's good for you to be purposefully irresponsible at times! Enjoy!
Wait, I haven’t seen you mess up on a video. 😂
@@davidnovakreadspoetry Well, ok - if you say so.😉
Hi Dave. I’m a new viewer. I have a question about the tag you mentioned. How does a booktuber know that they’ve been tagged? Is it a verbal mention on their video or do you get a text message?
Hey, welcome aboard! Verbal mention doesn’t cut it - though that usually accompanies the actual tag which resides in the description box, which would be the other person’s @ identifier - TH-cam sends them a notification.
