So, heres the thing. I had a few drinks one night and signed up for a race I had no business signing up for. I will be following this when the time comes.....Thank you!
Just a heads-ups , the audiobook of Training for the Uphill Athlete by Steve House, Scott Johnston and Kilian Jornet is available for free for those with an Audible subscription
Really enjoying your break down of the Ultra Training Plan, as you mentioned if you have the time a break down via video would be great discussing hill- skipping and hill-bounding etc….again thanks for the content.
That’s what Kilian recommends in his book. I was thinking the same thing though. It seems like long tapers are going out of style. Thanks for watching!
@@runningforviews Awesome thanks for the videos! Been really enjoying them. Just purchased that book but hasn’t arrived yet, excited to see what it’s all about. I’ve always found a 2 - 2.5 week drastic taper most effective for myself.
If you check out my base training plan I think that if you’re comfortably able to do this plan then you should be ready to start this plan. Just make sure to gradually build mileage and you should be good to go!
I usually just follow the zones that my watch tells me based off of my highest recorded heart rate. But if you want to do this yourself: Zone 1: Easy - 68% to 73% of max HR. Zone 2: Steady - 73% to 80% of max HR Zone 3: Moderately Hard - 80% to 87% of max HR. Zone 4: Hard - 87% to 93% of max HR. Zone 5: Very Hard - 93-100% of max HR. Let me know if this helps and thanks for watching!
Curious your thoughts on shortening this plan. I ran a 50K this past weekend and have a 100k in 9.5 weeks from today. Training before this was 40/50 miles a week. My thought was starting at week 9 and following the plan. This will be my first 100k with 4500 elevation. Thanks and love the videos
That would work perfectly! Week 8 of this plan is a 50k on the weekend so you would have 8 weeks before the 100k on the plan. So you would have this next week to build back into training and then start on week 9 of the training plan! Good luck!
I know right?! I think that it comes from a lot of base training in Z1 which I’m doing right now for my races next year. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Let me know if you have any questions about the training plan and I will answer them below! Thanks for watching! 🏃
thank you for this! Ran my first 50k's in September, now going after the 100k. Very helpful to have a plan to follow
That’s awesome! Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes!
Killian is the GOAT!!!!

Just released the hill bounding video! Make sure to go check it out!
@@runningforviews Thanks, going to check it out now 🤙🏽
Loved seeing you bound up the mountain lol
glad you enjoyed the view! haha
The plan looks great but Im curious why do u have a nearly 4 week taper?

why rest on a Sunday?
Monday when you are at work makes more sense as a rest day, weekends are for back to back long runs and vertical.
True! You can take a rest day any day of the week. I just like to take it when my wife and I both have work off so we can hang out.
Sponsor this man
I think you need more than 150 subs to be sponsored lol
This is an awesome video! Thank you.
On which day/s during the week would you do your strength training..?
Monday and Wednesday are the days that I would choose but you can do it on any day. Glad you liked the video!
At what level should you be before starting a program like this? Any prior accomplished distances?

How can i change hill workout?
Like make it shorter? Or do a different workout on that day?
How do you tackle elevation in Z1?! 😂😂
I would have to walk, pause, walk constantly.

I never ran in my life a marathon and finish 50 km in 5 hours and 25 minutes I almost die
That is incredible! You thinking about doing a 100k?
@@runningforviews yes I would want to do it in 10 hours how should I traine for that
@@tomrunner3908 on a flat course or a mountain course?

@@tomrunner3908 if you follow this training plan and add in some speed work every week you should be able to do it.
