I wanted to try a new format where I teach a simple stop-motion exercise that anyone can do. Let me know what you think! I already have a few ideas of where to improve, but wanted to start somewhere! ✨
Hey! This is such a great idea for vids! I am truly inspired by all your vids. I try to get some of your tips and techniques in my vids ( I make YT for fun) and I have such a laugh doing it. Thanks!
A good tip to have is to plug some wired earbuds into the phone. If you have it enabled in settings, changing the volume of the phone will take a picture, so you can take a picture of the next frame by changing the volume using the earbuds, without having to risk moving the phone by touching it.
Very helpful, would love to watch more like this, even longer. It is rare to see an animator’s process frame by frame, without speeding it up. Would love to watch you work with rigs, as well as performance of characters. Thank you!
Very cool. It really doesn't weigh everything down with the technical terms and principles but from what I can see shows more of the process. I could see this being really useful.
Love this idea. Getting an insight into the thinking and processes is really interesting. It can seem quite daunting starting out in something like stop-motion, so having these videos can really help break it down to something everyone can try. Keep these videos coming please!
Do you have a recommendation for a software where we could rewatch video frame by frame to study natural motion? Say that I record a ball that gets dropped and bounces a few times and want to understand what happens.
With Stop-Motion Studio you can play back on your phone - or pair your device to your computer and review there. Or professional software is Dragonframe.

I was going to suggest the same thing with one of those Bluetooth selfie sticks
You are a brilliant teacher! Thank you very much!
How generous! Thank you so much

Thanks so much! Will eventually get into more advanced stuff as I iron out the video formula
I agree its very nice to see the frame-by-frame process.
I think a little bit of sideways motion would help a bit, both shaking when holding the energy and waving around crazily when released
Very cool idea to give it some personality!
A couple of googly eyes would give a reason for its unbalance…
Tips and tricks. My respects!
Excellent ideas, pro tips n tricks... and lots of them. Magic!

This is awesome to see your decision-making in this video. Helpful to see how you think about the motion while shooting.
If you’re animating with figurenes or lego etc i suggest using “sticky tack” to hold the figures down and make your camera stable
I’m taking your stop motion course right now, working my way through it and loving it 😊
Amazing! Feel free to email me any time with questions

Stop motion animation is so cool that you do it with toys, puppets, and even people. They even do a lot of magic.
episode 2 now! i bought your course and its amazing!
As someone whose channel is based on stop motion, this has taught me a lot about momentum. So thank you so much!
Hey Kevin, have you heard of the toy called Stikbot, the whole point of it is to teach kids about stop motion and how to make their own films 📼
I have! I highly recommend them for intermediate learning
I haven't seen it in a long time. I might look into it if I ever see it again.
@@theshankanator I actually have it in my shop (first link in the description)

Nice!

Cool
Cool! :D
Yes sir
Hmmm, a video teaching stop motion... a "guide" one might say. Be careful. Ep. 1 is innocuous enough, but by Ep 5 we'll be deep in secret lore!! ;)
This man can make magic with a pipe cleaner...
What is the best phone to use for stop motion?
My question is, why do you want to stop motion, though? It’s good to move.
🤔🤔
What are your phone and laptop mobels

I really think it is
“Let’s take a picture.” TAKE THAT F***ING PICTURE ALREADY!
