There were some odd goings on when the MoA was being built. I've always liked Montgomery elevators but they definitely were NOT putting their best foot forward at MoA!! The parking garage traction elevators were all installed by Otis while the scenic hydro machines were all installed by Montgomery... but had to be completely redone by Otis within the first year of operation as there were multiple controller failures and tons of entrapments! Since everything was still so new, lots of fixture & cosmetic stuff wasn't changed out. The result was the MoA scenic fleet are unique in many ways. I was unaware of the subtile differences on this elevator. The interlock is different. The p.i.'s are more like a Schindler (the other cars all have that "dot matrix" style). I have no idea why this one wasn't exactly the others. Either way, this one's gone now. Thanks for preserving it in video form.
+Dana Danarosana Wow, I had no idea these were all originally Montgomery! Very interesting, and they must have done a better job with the anchor stores since those are still Montgomery (at least at Macys and Nordstrom). In place of this one, they put in a new non-scenic hydro nearby, and even further north in the new food court wing, a large scenic that is barely scenic since the windows are glossy and you can't really see through them. No idea who installed those, as they are very generic innovation fixtures. They sure have a lot of new things happening there these days.
Definitely a generic elevator, that Adams "ringtone" chime doesn't give me a good impression. Otis/Montgomery could've put something else that these generics. Like a Vector.
RIP 1992-2013 to this elevator.
I love the chime!
