I have this watch and I love it. I did have one issue with the watch and I had to send it back to GS. The black ink filling in the numbers on the bezel started coming off after only 3 months of wearing the watch. GS put a new bezel on there no charge. Since then no issues. Love this watch.
Great looking watch. But due to my self-imposed rule of "one watch per brand", I'm not sure I can get this. I already have a Seiko 5, so a Grand Seiko (though a bit different, I know), may not work. Plus, I'm poor.
The outer ring is even digits for the 24 hours dial, and there is internal ring with odd numbers .. nice .. what else of Seiko watches GMT have the same? Thanks
They’re already above Omega and on par with Rolex. I owned a GS and currently have an omega, the omega is a much better GADA watch but the GS was better overall, just too sparkly to go everywhere
I love so much about GS. I love their elegance line in particular. Their manual wound spring drive watches are stunning and far better proportioned than the auto spring drive offerings. This watch featured here, it looks poorly proportioned, the crown position and date window position look clunky. I agree the quartz GMT you had there looked better to my eye as well, though that didn’t do much for me either. Their design language when it comes to sports watches, that’s not their strong suit.
Looks a bit basic. But maybe for 3k you can get one with hardlex and an unsigned crown. I'd just buy 3 or 4 decent Swiss watches and just set one to Maldives time.
Look everyone, Tissot and Mido make mid range watches that look even better than this grand Seiko. The regular Seikos should look like this GS. Instead they are all cheaply made, you can notice the quality is not there. The Swiss are light years ahead in quality.

Rob, the SBGM Grand Seikos are the standard GMT models and are not hi beat.

I think your Grand Seiko could really get a hold of their bracelet game, they could be a real contender to Omega and Rolex.

I feel like GS is way higher quality than “decent” Swiss watches like Omega or JLC, but it’s all subjective
