I haven't seen ONE episode of these shows and yet I find myself watching compilations of William Shatner going around saying "Denny Crane". best time i had in years
So much emotion, still humorous, so much layer to the characters. Nuanced yet callous. What not to love. Never seen such a show and i doubt i will ever in future.
And here many of us Shatner fans were worried that he'd never shed the Captain Kirk image. He did far, far better than Nimoy did at shedding those pointy ears.
Me too. Do yourself a favour and buy the boxed set to have forever. David E Kelly was a genius. When he saw the entertainment business had abandoned everyone who wasn't a teen...he threw in the towel. Saddest day ever. It was the end of quality entertainment.
Such politically incorrect in ur face humor. All that we need in a show today. But imagine all the touchy feely sensitivity of today it would have been cancelled.
When you get to my age, I was just 20 when the 60's burst, when there were hundreds of great new pop releases every week, from top bands, and you realise that never again will you have so much fun. This series is the same. They will never be able to make anything to even come close, ever. Thank the Lord they did it once.
I was 20 in the 80's so things were a bit less fun, but, this series was perfection of a kind I think they will never achieve again. Loved everything about it with the exception of the Shirley character.
Same here... it was a sad day when the series ended. I loved that it was always current and you absolutely cannot beat the demeanor of Denny Crane and Alan Shore. I am often mesmerized by Alan's delivery of summations ar the end of a trial. I do wonder just how allowable their antics would be in a real courtroom.
Danny and Alan make you go through your emotional rollacoaster and sit back pickup a Charlie sheen habit and have a hamlet and get out of the way as Schmidty on her way.
I would love to get a 2 year old thoroughbred Colt , name him DENNY CRANE and race him ALL over the country ! ! ! Show of hands : who here would bet on DENNY CRANE ? ? ?
Wheaten in another big bang theory on the star ship.enterprise to raise a budget to hit the target and get his lockwood to get the logistics out of here.
The relationship between these men is why Star Trek is still part of our cultural lexicon and TJ Hooker is a brief afterthought. William Shatner plays best off a cool, subversive co star, like Leonard Nimoy and James Spader.
I was once in this arena of misfits... But I knew 2 lawyers [liars], that were actually very similar to these 2 nuts. Both became states attorneys. I swear I could not figure which side they were on, and I could not figure out who to cheer for. I told the judge in chambers once 'everytime I come to court and when either one of these guys are here, I feel like I have come to a circus'.. Judge replied 'well its is a circus everyday, so whats the beef?' LOL
I'm convinced the writers of the show, when they approached William Shatner for role of this character, they told him "yeah you're going to play a lawyer or something, just be yourself."
1:00 As a responsible gun owner that scene boils my blood. That is the exact arrogant handling of dangerous devices that gets people dead. NEVER E V E R point a gun you have not checked and cleared yourself at A N Y T H I N G you are not willing to kill. There are no accidents with guns. Barring manufacture defect, if someone gets hurt its because someone willfully did something wrong and disregarded safety. Period. And they deserve all the blood on their hands they get.
I'm genuinly curious; Would you support more gun regulation? I personally think, having a gun is probably okay if you're actually being responsible. My fear is, I'm pretty sure most people aren't and more background checks would be neccessary. What are your thoughts?
They did that to mock responsible guinea owners. If you saw the show, even though it's quite funny. They keep tossing in their liberal barbs. Denny's character is a conservative Republican. So they make him irresponsible with guns..... Oh yeah, not the first time that a firearm went off, right after he said it was unloaded.
@@pacmanshooter247 more background checks are bullshit politics. Do you have a clue how many people who commit violent crimes with a gun have had a background check?
@@aNuthaRedneck What so, just because many people who commit violent crimes had a background check mean we shouldn't do more? Are you kidding, you haven't lived if you haven't watched this PEARLER❤

The chemistry between Shatner and Spade was unforgettable especially in the street scene!!!!
And here many of us Shatner fans were worried that he'd never shed the Captain Kirk image. He did far, far better than Nimoy did at shedding those pointy ears.

Wow! You got to see some pretty great things lol. All we can do is find joy wherever we can, until the lord calls us home.
I was 20 when the show was airing. Good times
I always can't stop laughing when Denny says Lets take off all our clothes....
That was gold XD

Um, in a room with Lake Bell and Rhona Mitra, I dont blame him for trying, far from it, I commend him for trying.

Gotta admit in the fishing scene I expected Denny to pull out some dynamite!
"Its the Second Commandment" Denny Crane...😆😆
William Shatner never acts. He just is.
James Spader and William Shatner made this show, they were the best duo ever!

This show was so damn good!
Yes they did - look good together that is. And Tara ... there should be a law against a woman looking that good!
What always gets me is that Denny sounds more irritated that no one got him than that there’s a gun pointed at his best friend.
2 words..(Denny Crane)👍
Denny Crane as a lawyer at age 90 is a better lawyer than the top three lawyers half his age...Denny Crane.
Crane, Poole, Schmidt- Shaw just the best blacklist spot. Suits you!!
Off to binge watch this series now.
Will looks like he's having the time of his life!

One of those looks cool in sunglasses. The other looks like Denny Crane.
their comradery was one of the best on tv
The funny thing is... He actually is a gun expert and his shots are all for effect. Shock effect. It works.
His phaser is set to stun too...
"Right knee, right foot, left foot..." best Denny Crane line ever.
Private citizen Shatner should be more Denny Crane I hear.
