You didn't use different colors to help visualize it and you didn't properly distinguish both tools in practical ways. Don't want to be rude, but honestly, that's not a very great video.
Hi! Does anyone know which of these two renders faster? One or two don't make much difference but I will have loads of layers where I can either apply the mask or track matte (they are the same visually) and I would also like to optimize the rendering time.
I can only say what many others are saying: This is perfect. Simple and straight forward. Exactly the way I like these things and without all sorts of fancy pro jargon that are without importance. And the example is so generic I can use it in all kinds of scenarios where it isn't used for text but for parts of a scene. But the principles are so well explained that it is easily transferrable.
Is there a good way to make multiple objects apply to the same track matte? Like for example, I have a series of balls bouncing but I only want them visible behind a particular part of the screen?
that is useful. thanks. can you please make a video about how to use a track matte for different objects that are on separate layers in one composition? like animating objects to go into a box and disappear when they fall in.

Thanks for the video!!!! is it possible to use one single layer as a track matte for 2 different objets? imagine the same example as in your video, but with 2 different text strings. Can i define a rectangle in which both text will be vissible using this tool??? thanks!!

@@deproductions5905 You can use Effect>Channel>Set Matte to apply the same masking layer to multiple other layers.

Hi there, maybe the shape layer you created didn't have any filling/colour? Fill the shape first and try it again ;)
Because you must put the layer mast over the layer you need to show up not behind
any way to do this with multiple layers of text without pre composing?
So use a track matte when you don’t want the matte to track, and use a mask when you need it to track.

this track matte is automatically coming over text and moreover i cant add other text. Can you tell me solution to this.
