Yeah and nice thing is you don’t have to mess with renting it out! So cheap and really everything at your finger tips including trains to go anywhere. 💪🏼🇮🇹
I will! We are heading to Cortona tomorrow. Nice hilltop town with houses and apartments from very inexpensive to super Luxe! Should be on next weekend.
I really enjoyed today's video as it certainly displays what is available to people if they want to open their minds to alternatives to whatever preconceived notions that they may have stuck in their heads. I have always thought that living in a vibrant community that is not heavy with tourism is much more attractive to me. Being near stores, hospitals, great restaurants etc. is the way to go. As always thanks for the town tour Brad!
You’re welcome! Just came back from a local burger place here near this video shoot. First time I had fried food in 8 months. Not a necessity but nice to be able to find Jalapeño poppers when you need one! Shows you can get anything around here.
Helpful video, Brad. We are living in Texas and considering places to retire in Italy. Sinalunga just popped up on our radar with a house that needs restoration. We will watch more of your videos for helpful guidance. Thank you!
Thanks for the video showing the available stores in the town. Very helpful. My question is about availability of supplies and restrictions on remodeling and updates on a property. I’m a DIY’er and would want to do remodeling myself. I’m used to Home Depot etc. Would you go into what’s allowed for do it yourself’ers
Hah! I recognized the COOP before you went in. I am very familiar. I think that first apt you highlighted in the bottom left corner of the screen for 215k looked absolutely fabulous! and with a garage?!?! Amazing for the price.
Excellent information, as always. I've been looking for awhile, and I was wondering if I was crazy, seeing the same houses with different prices (sometimes only identified by one or two overlapping photos). It's been an exhausting process, but your videos have been helpful.
Every time I see the stores in Italy and prices/quality/freshness I get reminded des I’m buying Gucci and Ferragamo prices for groceries in FL yet getting the cheapest/nastiest Chinese knock off in return😢
I saw picture on CNN and the person was at the grocery looking at tomatoes and the price was $3.49/lb! That’s like €8/Kg. Insane. I think tomatoes here are like €2-3/kg depending on type.
This is a very helpful video as we weren’t sure what kinds of shops are available in small towns. If you have a chance, are there craft shops like a Michael’s or Joann Fabrics in the states?
There’s big fabric stores. Of course those brands aren’t here. You can find things like crafty type stores in most small, medium size towns. No tiny town, however.
You are welcome. Everybody let me know what cities in Umbria and Tuscany and Lazio you would like me to showcase. I like getting out and doing these videos to help you help yourself!!
If I'm not mistaken some places have a 7 % flat tax for people moving to those locations. And they will have the same things or within a 30 min drive. And you can have a nice house at a lower cost . That's what I've been looking fir at least. Somewhere where I could retire at in the future.
Possible they would have the same things but the towns I have been in where the flat tax is active generally are not like this. Just use Google maps and check some towns down there. They are underpopulated. The groceries look more like something you would see in an inner city neighborhood. Remember too on your flat tax that while what you pay to Italy might be at 7% you may still be liable for tax on your social security or other pensions back home. So Italy takes less but your home country will still tax at the normal rate and they will just get a higher percentage amount from you since you are paying less. And finally people please consider WHY the houses are €1 and WHY the government is giving a huge break on their pension taxes to get people to move to these areas. Is it really worth it to save a little taxes???
A lot of cars is definitely not a selling point for me. However, good public transportation connections is and Sinalunga has good train and bus connections so I don't have to have a car. I don't want to live in the United States in Italy.
Cars I mention because there is activity, not because I like cars driving around a lot. Most towns have good bus service and this one is a good one to live in if you don't have a car.
I came from US with 37% plus property tax that equaled another 10% of my income plus health insurance costs which were another 10%….so yeah, 37% without property tax and without healthcare costs is pretty enticing. 🤷🏼♂️
Well, there were people at the shops, the parking was full, the cafe had people spilling out onto the square in February... The little street I was walking and talking on didn't have anybody, but I look for that when I am filming informational stuff. The grocery store in town (one of four big ones) is HUGE. You can't support that big a store without a lot of people around. It was a Monday, maybe they all got jobs! :-)
Hey Brad, lovely town, can you get in contact me with your real estate agent? Can you pass me her details if you don’t mind looking forward to talking to you 1:502:00
Huh? Abruzzo is 300 KM away!? Sinalunga and the rest of Southern Tuscany is light green on Italy’s seismic map. Abruzzo is deep dark purple. I love comments but please keep them factual. This is just silly.
Because they don’t have lock boxes…Because the owners usually have the keys, not a particular agent so everything has to be tracked down. It’s an odd system.
It was difficult finding his book on USA Amazon. Typed in a # of different search terms. Finally, I was able to find it with "expats guide to Italy." Paperback 283pgs, $19.95.
30+ years ago we stayed in Sinaluga. Just on accident, really. Went back 3 times since. I'm delighted to see it again!
I'm in NY...seeing your videos are inspiring. Walking thru town and in the grocery store puts me in Italy...great job. Thank you!!!
Wow. Sono felice di trovare due video oggi! Grazie da Texas come sempre ❤
Prego!
I LOVED the tours of the shops. :)
Great. I’ll start showing other towns soon!
Brad, my head was going to explode 🤯 looking at dog food and houses at the same time 😅😂 lol
Hey it’s the important things in life….
I've looked at several in Sinalunga. I don't want to rent out....I want to live there!!!
Yeah and nice thing is you don’t have to mess with renting it out! So cheap and really everything at your finger tips including trains to go anywhere. 💪🏼🇮🇹
Thanks Brad for all the great information. Very informative and helpful. I'll check out Sinalunga for sure.
Wow! Thanks for another very informative video. Please keep them coming ❤
I will! We are heading to Cortona tomorrow. Nice hilltop town with houses and apartments from very inexpensive to super Luxe! Should be on next weekend.
Wow! Incredible values and with everything close by! It would be perfect for a vacation house or a permanent residence!
Yes! There is even a 9 hole golf course you can join for €1100 a year!
Very informative! Thanks for the video!
You’re welcome!

Your welcome. Sinalunga is very convenient. I was just there an hour ago on way back to Montepulciano from Siena! 🤠
Very interesting thanks. Good to see the practicalities of a town like that.
Currently living in Mobile, Alabama and this grocery store is far superior to any here! Thanks sooo much for the info
Yeah it was on par with our better shops back in Texas where I am from.
Sounds like a cool place. Haven't been to Tuscany in so many years!

Once you leave the tourist hot spots it is sooooo amazing here.
Great info, gives much more to think about !
Glad it was helpful!

Glad it’s helpful. Let me know if you got questions.
Tx lot for the video very informative much appreciated
You’re welcome!
Great info Brad!
Cool. Glad you liked it. I want to show all sides here.
❤ Sinalunga
Many who leave so dumb comments like is not worth 400k are those who do not know anything about real estate mainly in Italy.
Yes, very true.

I am from Texas too. I would run so fast to live there in Italy if it were not for family.

❤❤❤one more year till my mentoring with Brad
Standing by!
Great info, thanks

Love seeing these, just wonder if I need to go to Calabria or Campania to get close to the sea without costing an arm and a leg.
Go to Frosinone or Latina. Just south of Rome in Lazio. You can get minutes to sea without going over €100K
Heb for sure..I’m in Austin. Do I need to speak Italian in order to navigate my way? So beautiful.
Try to learn what you can. Many expat here but nice to try and speak as much as you can as fast as you can.
Brad, how do you feel about Marsciano? Is it a quiet town like the towns you shown earlier?
It’s a really small town. I don’t know it. I imagine it is quiet!
Great video! How many minutes away from the beach?
About 40. Unless Claudia is driving! 🤓😂
Then 20?
THANK YOU 🎉😂
You are welcome!! 🤓

Massive grocery store. I’m hungry now. What’s for dinner, Brad? I’ll be over at 7:00. I’ll bring the wine❤😂🎉AMY from MN😊🎉❤

Yep!
Everything is cool and sht but 40% + , income taxes etc... wtff... let me know when italy goes down to 10% income tax

I'm curious. Why did you choose Italy vs France or another part of the EU? Is it better financially?@@BradsWorld
Hey Brad, lovely town, can you get in contact me with your real estate agent? Can you pass me her details if you don’t mind looking forward to talking to you 1:50 2:00
Just email if you haven’t already. I’ll get you hooked up.

Very difficult to see 5 apartment a day? Because it’s very different?? Because it’s a 3rd world country.
Because they don’t have lock boxes…Because the owners usually have the keys, not a particular agent so everything has to be tracked down. It’s an odd system.
