What a sound... Thanks for this post. Takes me back to twisty roads around here back in 78' on an Interstate model. Love the snarl when you come off throttle.
The old motorways in Ireland are a lot more enjoyable the the new motorways. No a fence, but I hate you for the whole experience that you have on this beauty. It must be a pleasure and buzz to drive this nostalgic muscle. Norton at its finest.
The Tachs on the 1960s ex-AMA Daytona 200 Domiracer rollers red line tell tales... all were set at 8500 THAT'S why they blew up... Producing the needed 50-55 HP of the era.. Manx type HP..... I DO wish I had built that Nor-Vin when I had the chance But, then, the Ducati 250 Diana is still in the family.... Tampa, FLA... I sure love your vids, man TOO OLD AND INFIRM TO RIDE ANYMORE @70.... But my reactions are still on the money.. TIME and Judgement wise... J.C.
Hows the rebuild progressing! Crowd funding? We can all help! Even if it's only $5 On SSA here. I'm back on an Early 2008 MacBook Pro A1260 15" 2.4 ghz. I got on eBay, as a runner, for only $33.08 ppd.. My last one terminally overheated.....February built up from parts donors... and an ally find... running a 20" LCD TV....streaming for about one hour... My 13" MacBooks don't overheat But the screen view is not the same Been onboard at Chimay, Amoy, BRNO and Southern 100 Stuff I'd been missing. Your Commando does not affect me like the Domiracer... PERFECTION! Even over a Nor-Vin I COULD have built, 1970-'71 Those racer frames and 2 Rapide engines in boxes... Over taken by our palmetto find $50 Ducati Diana 250 AMA racer project.... Another what if... Cheers! FIX IT!! J.C.
Great video. Very slow car drivers! Lovely sound to your Commando especially when you crack open the throttle to overtake. I have a 72 750 that I keep in France. If you want to have a look click on my icon on the left. Safe riding! Nick
@@Ton_up_division. But i find them noisy however . I have heard that german police officers are very strict about the sound level of motorcycles . And i have also seen in some german towns roadsigns forbiding the traffic of motorcycles during the night (22pm-7am). You are riding on beautiful scenic roads . Where is it in Germany (Lander , area ) ? Ride safely .
No one who built a superbike in the 70s was thinking that 50 years after, a 21 y.o. bloke at the MOT was going to place a mic beside the pipes to check if they're loud. 'course they are!! LOL
I think this is the only video on the internet in which a Norton Commando is properly trashed as it should. Thanks for sharing!
Lovely soundtrack, and well ridden too. I remember what it feels like to crack the throttle open like that.....
A really nice sound! And a nice view over the old school cockpit !
Thanks for the ride, the old girl is in a good state of tune and sings a glorious song.
