@@SteamOTR totally agree i joined the regional steam club and earning my steam ticket plus at the last two big weekend shows i was allowed to drive n fire and somehow was allowed to drive one on the motorway
Yes, but with no real success. The grate is relatively small, and needs a good clear out in the morning, so I've now settled on just accepting that I'm doing it from cold each day.
Hang on a minute, wheres the bit where you've let fire go out because you're gassing to neighbouring steam nuts and totally forgotten your supposed to be tending to a new fire and then have to start all over again, or is that just me that does that 🤣🤣
best practice to start the build up of steam slowly so everything can expand at a slow rate to make sure you don't get leaks from tubes etc. I cringed a bit as you didn't mention opening the drain cocks on first turn over to let any condensation out of the cylinders to avoid hydraulicking.
@@SteamOTR ah ok no worries. I have seen the devistation from not doing this. but yeah my draincocks are left open when parked up so I don't forget when I light up next time I start up
Another great video. I'm currently building a 6" Ransomes Compound but as a straight twin and a 6" Burrell Agricultural Traction Engine. I also own a nice 3" Fowler A7. Just a heads up with the background music, it's very loud and overbearing, I'd rather just hear you chat and listen to what is going on around you.

Truth be told, it was the second time, as I forgot to film the first. Drain cocks were open then, you're 100% right.
