The Narcissist Attitude of church members who profess to be believers is quite disheartinh. I teach SS and have for over 20 yrs. The Holy Spirit speaks in all the lessons as a call to God's people to come to obedience, but I can't see the fruit. They are grandious, arrogant and use the Bible script to back their feeling of being beyond help from God. I pray each day for God's people to wake up and realize they are being lied to by the Enemy. When you have been a Christian a long time you have a good understanding of the Bible - so sermons like this just build and support what you already know. I have lived for 42 years and I've come to the consensus that I generally dislike humanity and my life as it seems has no purpose beyond suffering. I have prayed to not be alive anymore but that has not worked. My life is filled with sorrow and I honestly don't know how to or why I have to stay breathing in sorrow and misery. I've begged God to make me a better Christian and remove these thoughts; however, my prayers seem to be inadequate because I'm still wanting to not be here. I have begged to not desire anything of this world and be like Paul and just serve God. I am talentless and without viable skills to get a job. Why is it so wrong to want to choose life away from this misery? Why can't God just let me die?
Sven, help others. Volunteer to help the hopeless, the least of these as the Bible calls them. Praise God with your voice in prayer and song. Read the word and praise God for everything. Do these things and I promise you that your life will have meaning and you will understand your reason for being alive. You are made in the image of God. Quit listening to Satan’s lies. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Do not despise God’s gift of life to you. To do so dishonors God. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Learn to love yourself because God loves you. You have a place in this world. Find it and honor God with your life.
Sven, it’s very possible that you have unrealistic expectations of your behavior. I am an old man now - I once thought “when I get old then I will be holy” but it doesn’t work that way. Yes, God will deliver you from certain sins but you will still struggle with them (there is not a conflict in that statement - you can be delivered and still struggle). I struggled with lustful thoughts for decades but God has delivered me from those thoughts. I HAVE repented but I’d be lying if I said I never notice women. But anyway… Paul was not a perfect man - he doesn’t speak of his sin much but he struggled - Romans 7: 19 “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.” Verse 19 shows he was sinful, just like you and I. But verse 20 is key - study that verse - once you understand that verse you will be set free from unrealistic expectations. We are running a marathon, not a sprint. Do your best every day, apologize to God when you fail, and ask Him to strengthen you and increase your love for Him and your fellow man. Lastly, there is a preacher named Voddie Bauchman that said something like this: “I’m not the man I want to be but praise God I’m not the man I used to be.” And he said that he wouldn’t trade that life he used to have (when he was unsaved) for anything because that’s what gave him the perspective he now has. Anyway, long rant, but hang in there - you are a servant in the Kingdom of God - you just have to figure out “how” you should be serving Him. He’s in no hurry, you’ll figure it out exactly when He wants you to figure it out.
Ask God to show you how He sees you and how you can be who He needs you to be. Once you have seen yourself through His loving eyes, you will know the truth of His love and the value you bring to His purposes here on earth. What small thing can you do to help someone less fortunate than yourself? As Dr Jeremiah says "Embrace, Express, Embody His Love". "Be Kind, Be Gracious, Be Caring". Be the love of God in your street and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Be blessed brother Sven.
@Sven. Your life matters. Some suffer more in life depending on family and environment. Please start by reading the Bible every day. Pray for all things. Walk by faith and not by what you see or feel. God will supply all what you need. Find a good church and attend regularly
Jesus spoke of lawlessness and it's synonym, iniquity, more than once. Lawlessness in the Bible is not the breaking of man's law. Jesus is not concerned with the laws of man but with the laws of God. It is the abandonment of God's law that leads to "the love of many" growing "cold." God's law is the law of love, not man's. Matthew 5 17 Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. 18 For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. This includes keeping the 4th commandment.

When someone tries to take your salvation your faith your going to get angry
why are the people just sit down ad listen not taking down notes? how much retention can they get when they get back home?
I never take notes because I’d never look at them if I did. When you have been a Christian a long time you have a good understanding of the Bible - so sermons like this just build and support what you already know. For example, most “mature” Christians have Matthew 24:12 memorized and have heard quite a few sermons on it but it’s good to hear it taught again to remind us that we need to keep world events in proper perspective.
- Evil will always exist. The proverbial war between good and evil is never-ending.

I have lived for 42 years and I've come to the consensus that I generally dislike humanity and my life as it seems has no purpose beyond suffering. I have prayed to not be alive anymore but that has not worked. My life is filled with sorrow and I honestly don't know how to or why I have to stay breathing in sorrow and misery. I've begged God to make me a better Christian and remove these thoughts; however, my prayers seem to be inadequate because I'm still wanting to not be here. I have begged to not desire anything of this world and be like Paul and just serve God. I am talentless and without viable skills to get a job. Why is it so wrong to want to choose life away from this misery? Why can't God just let me die?
Sven, help others. Volunteer to help the hopeless, the least of these as the Bible calls them. Praise God with your voice in prayer and song. Read the word and praise God for everything. Do these things and I promise you that your life will have meaning and you will understand your reason for being alive. You are made in the image of God. Quit listening to Satan’s lies. You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Do not despise God’s gift of life to you. To do so dishonors God. Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind. Learn to love yourself because God loves you. You have a place in this world. Find it and honor God with your life.
Sven, it’s very possible that you have unrealistic expectations of your behavior. I am an old man now - I once thought “when I get old then I will be holy” but it doesn’t work that way. Yes, God will deliver you from certain sins but you will still struggle with them (there is not a conflict in that statement - you can be delivered and still struggle). I struggled with lustful thoughts for decades but God has delivered me from those thoughts. I HAVE repented but I’d be lying if I said I never notice women. But anyway… Paul was not a perfect man - he doesn’t speak of his sin much but he struggled - Romans 7: 19 “For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.” Verse 19 shows he was sinful, just like you and I. But verse 20 is key - study that verse - once you understand that verse you will be set free from unrealistic expectations. We are running a marathon, not a sprint. Do your best every day, apologize to God when you fail, and ask Him to strengthen you and increase your love for Him and your fellow man. Lastly, there is a preacher named Voddie Bauchman that said something like this: “I’m not the man I want to be but praise God I’m not the man I used to be.” And he said that he wouldn’t trade that life he used to have (when he was unsaved) for anything because that’s what gave him the perspective he now has. Anyway, long rant, but hang in there - you are a servant in the Kingdom of God - you just have to figure out “how” you should be serving Him. He’s in no hurry, you’ll figure it out exactly when He wants you to figure it out.
Ask God to show you how He sees you and how you can be who He needs you to be. Once you have seen yourself through His loving eyes, you will know the truth of His love and the value you bring to His purposes here on earth. What small thing can you do to help someone less fortunate than yourself?
As Dr Jeremiah says "Embrace, Express, Embody His Love". "Be Kind, Be Gracious, Be Caring". Be the love of God in your street and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Be blessed brother Sven.
@Sven. Your life matters. Some suffer more in life depending on family and environment. Please start by reading the Bible every day. Pray for all things. Walk by faith and not by what you see or feel. God will supply all what you need. Find a good church and attend regularly

Jesus spoke of lawlessness and it's synonym, iniquity, more than once. Lawlessness in the Bible is not the breaking of man's law. Jesus is not concerned with the laws of man but with the laws of God. It is the abandonment of God's law that leads to "the love of many" growing "cold." God's law is the law of love, not man's.
Matthew 5
17 Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.
18 For verily I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.
19 He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
This includes keeping the 4th commandment.
