LUV this CHiEFTAiN, sooo BOSS! Tragically, i'm too late comin in to see him live, but my guy (who intro'd me to Eddy Clearwater) did & said he just ROCKED THE HOUSE (MMHMH!)
Interesting....I know nothing about guitars or tuning them, but I can honestly say I never even considered the possibility of someone playing a left handed versus right handed guitar and how that would sound....thanks for the info guys!!
Luis-Meg calderon, It's definitely not common for a guitarist to play upside down like this. There are plenty of left-handed guitarists that play left-hand guitars but they are strung so it's the same as playing a right-handed guitar. For instance, Jimi Hendrix played a right-handed guitar upside down, but it was strung left-handed so he was still playing it the way a right-handed guitarist would. Others have already mentioned Albert King, who is the only other guitarist besides this guy that I know of who played upside down - not that my knowledge of the subject is by any means an exhaustive list. I'd never heard of this guy, just heard about him because he died today. Sad, I'll have to check his stuff out.
I used to check out Eddie in the Chicago area all the time. The best was when my blues band was honored to open for The Chief. RIP Big Man...
Eddie you may be gone but your blues will remain and now you're playing for heaven

Very nice. Got to see this guy.
Brilliant ! Looks like his guitar is strung upside down. Thanks for posting.
It actually looks like a regular strung right handed guitar, but played upside down, kinda like Albert King
