What are the actual lyrics to that song, Spell of the winter forest? I've only ever found half lyrics sheets. I have the CD in a box in my storage. Can't be bothered climbing up and picking through over 1,500 CD's.
Their live performance is solid. Bad sound/picture when its recorded 90s crabby camera. Liked their early material very much. Like this show 90s black metal ruled.
I have a VHS somewhere of them I think in the same venue but late 90s, with a different vocalist and the second guitarist leaves half way through the set for some reason. No idea...
thank you so much for posting this! the good old days! Hecate Enthroned were such a fantastic band back then - they played some truly incredible shows in london back then, aside from this one the best show of theirs was at the George Robey. was this gig the one with Thus Defiled supporting? anyways, seriously, thanks for sharing this - it really does bring back great memories!
Seems to be an alternative intro to the one on Upon Promeathean Shores The Crimson Thorns (My Immortal Dreams) A Graven Winter The Spell of the Winter Forest An Ode for a Haunted Wood
Stop saying that Jon taught Dani how to sing. That's bullshit. Actually in an early COF interview Dani himself said Hecate Enthroned was an imitation...
Cradle of Filth were their own thing while Hecate Enthroned was their own as well. What makes them connect is that Jon was briefly in Cradle of Filth on bass when they were recording the original version of Dusk and Her Embrace with most of the Principal of Evil lineup minus Robin Graves because i believe he was busy with his December Moon project. I believe it was Jon that influenced Dani to change up his vocal style which he did and Cradle of Filth got popular. Hecate Enthroned stayed with more of the melodic black metal occult sound in the 90's while Jon was with them. Slaughter of Innocence to me is the best black metal album ever made.
Many reasons to back up my argument, but by the look of your response, I’m obviously dealing with a 12 year old, so I won’t bother to discuss them. But let’s look on the bright side, you didn’t use a shit ton of emojis this time like some emo girl on Twitter. Proud of ya, kiddo..

Yer goddamned right! So fkn shocking!!!!

RIP Marc and Jon. The first full length album The Slaughter Of Innocence, A Requiem For The Mighty is my favorite black metal album of all time.
The band was my number one, so epic, magic. I love mid 90's. Their 3 first albums were so good. Unique!
Agreed

Total agree!!!!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Hell yeah! it was UPON PROMEATHEAN SHORES which brought me into the music of early Hecate Enthroned!
Same. They were my favorite band, still are.

Because no black metal bands ever talked shit about other black metal bands? Dani has since admitted that he learned the vocals from Jon.
