The opposing force bedbanana and his crew faced was us during their first insertion, Iron Vanguard. To give more backstory to what all was happening from our pov was, we took on the entire server, 3 other orgs in the span of 12 hours. Held the facility pulling drugs and making money for everyone taking part to defend our own. The ONLY group that managed to make it inside past the air and ground forces we had placed was bed and his men. I watch this video over and over and remember that this was the best JT we have ever done, and for him to document his pov of Star citizen and it’s dynamic event means a lot for me and for everyone, showing that we can do ANYTHING we put our minds to. o7 to you bed, much respect, always.

The thing is, when this stuff is the reason you want to play the game, you will need to join an org or at least get friends and organize.
It may deceive some people into thinking this is the regular gameplay. It's just one of the things you can do, and you CAN make it your regular gameplay, but only with at least some party organizing work.

To answer your question at the 42:10 mark, the ships that you can buy for the really big IRL bucks on the website are multicrew ships. Most of them the pilot doesn't have access to any weapons at all, so one person can't just pay to win with the biggest baddest around. They will need a crew to use it properly and all those ships are or will be available to buy in game with game credits.

Yes, this is all real gameplay. And while that was happening, there were many other people just living their space lives. Space trucking, mining, salvaging, and so much more.

    • @danbrown6970
      @danbrown6970 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

not really "so much more" trucking has been pretty broken... bunkers were busted til last patch but now work 50% of the time. Basically the ONLY good loops rn are mining, salvaging, and regular bounty hunting (though the last patch seemed to have broken some bounty hunting spawns) and the events like Jumptown, though Seige of Orison was broken AF last time.
the reason so many people hop on this game before refunding it is because they are sold an unrealistic image of what "regular" gameplay is like. It's still a test bed, and reccomendations should be handed out with a disclaimer, otherwise you'll have a large section of the population calling it a scam forever.

Yes boarding another ship is difficult, we had a Xenothreat mission that started infinitely spawning fighters on us while we fought the Idris and the game kept spawning waves, we track 129 targets coming at us and the entire server had to unite in order to defeat the swarm of sheer murder, the result was a straight pitched battle with us having to us global chat to talk to one another, it was crazy to see 50 random people on the server just cooperating, we won after eight respawns each but it was a W when we had to use the Retaliator heavy bombers to take out the Idris enemy capitol ship, half of us getting murdered by the swarm as we did, Star Citizen is a different level type of MMO, their motto is "Take it to Realism then dial it back to fun" - CIG

Jump Town will be starting again tomorrow, and it will be even more epic, for more locations are added. The only way humanity will find peace is if it is faced with a common enemy. Yes! I have been in Jumptown wars from the earl days. Some of the best times of hiding and stealing the enemies ships and flying out under heavy fire to go and sell the loot. Well, I been spending like 10-20 bucks since 2016, so yeah I have some powerful ships. I just support the project for I believe in it. My favorite way to do Jumptown is to orbital drop in a golf cart, then steal a ship full of drugs, much like the video showed when he hid in the bunkbead.
My favorite memory was the time I came in under cover of a blizzard. Some guys were loading up a Freelancer while a vigilant Redeemer gunships kept watch. I called a buddy in to buzz the Redeemer and it started chasing him. Then I waited for the loading crew to go back inside for their next stack of boxes and ran in and took off. One of them manged to jump on the ramp as I was taking off, and if he'd had a gun he would have killed me in the pilot seat. But he only had his fists. The ship had 50 boxes on it.
Another time I tried to break into the back of a tank and the guy came out to fistfight me (again with the fists, at least pack a pistol or knife guys!). I had to fistfight him back because my gun wouldn't reload. Eventually he got back in the tank and tried to run me over. I ducked behind a rock and he ramped right over me, then bailed as he realized he was going down the cliff. Gun finally reloaded and took care of him, then used his tank to take out at last two ships before I died.
You cannot go inside most of the tall buildings, but you can land on many of their roofs.
The Nova tank has its flaws, lack of barrel depression being the big one, but it's still fun to use, like when you park it on the flight deck of a Carrack or 890J and essentially turn it into a battleship.
For computer hardware, the RSI telemitry webpage will give you up to date information on what kind of preformance you can get out of the game depending on the GPU and CPU used. For everything else, an SSD and 32 gigs of ram are pretty much the minimum.

i did jumptown events, we were only 3 or 2 , but it was sometimes close to that amazing, stealing ships and using them against the other ships, jumping from ship just before an explosion, hidding under the building and killing people, hidding the drug outside behind a rock and taking it later while players are around loading their own ships, teaming up with lawful people for contol of the site beeing scared everytime someone coming because you never know if they'll stay lawfull or turn to be pirates, evading last second with some loots while your are beeing chased.
Assasinate all the people inside and hide the stuff in a container, then trying to take it with a very small ship be killed when going out , be revived after a while, seeing one guy putting our hidden drug boxes into our ship to steal it, and taking it back from him, closing the door right in front of him , ramp going up pushing him on top of the ship, the guy shooting at the ship like mad man, start the ship , the guy fall and is killed by my friend.
    it's crazy sometimes....
Also there was a coop event, with 100 players doing it, taking back from pirates , part of the floating city, killing boss finding radar jammers, gun containers, taking another platform to antoher , with little buggies and ships, and going at the end to assult the last plaform with a lot of turrets , and dropping people and vahicules really fast ...
Another event is a gigantic space battle, where you have to retreive cargo from floating derelict ships and occupied by pirates while other pirates are trying to shoot your ship and some player are defending, then deliver it to a military space station that use the cargo to reload and rearm their big ship, and be ready in time for the big ship that pirates have stolen.
Star citizen team is working on a tool to generate insides of buildings, they showed it, like roof ,bottom an last floors are always the same on the same type of building, and the rest change depending of the use of the building, i think they will put many of those building for missions, but maybe one day all building could by generated by that tool.
they are updating the cities as their tool become more powerful, so who knows one day how the cities of that game will look....
but already seeing a full planetscales city in 2018 ( i think) was crazy and is still the only game you can see it.

I have not done large scale warfare, I'm not really interested in it anymore. @MrCjspeedy1981 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

26:35 - YES! Not only this type of battle but yes. For the uninitiated, this is all focused around a in game dynamic event called JumpTown. JumpTown is a outpost planet-side where there is a dispenser inside that will dispense a box parcel (think amazon/UPS parcel) and that parcel is actually a box full of drugs. It will spit out one box every 20 - 30 seconds and you can build up quite the stockpile of them. Now these drugs are incredibly valuable if you can get them off planet to sell them somewhere. So what ends up happening is that players, groups and organisations all fight for control of the outpost and do so on foot, by vehicle and in the air and space. JumpTown is ran a few times a year and each time, battles like this are common & happen almost entirely organically.
Not gonna tell you how to play it but IMO its best with a big group, you get this as a result.
41:46 - Yes if you have money you can absolutely buy a very powerful ship. However, its not pay to win. Not only are all ships available to buy in game but with the size of the ship increasing, you'll need more hands to use it. For example at 40:07 this ship is the Ageis HammerHead a corvette class ship which is about 120m long, it has missiles and what have you but its power comes from the TWENTY FOUR guns spread across 6 turrets, those turrets when working in tandem can eliminate most threats, but as the pilot you control none of them. You need other players to man those turrets and also fix things inside with upcoming engineer gameplay otherwise you are simply a 120m target that a ship 15m long can take out with relative ease. So can you spend stupid money on SC to get powerful ships? Yes. Will it make it pay to win? no. Does it make it pay to advance? Definitely. Do you have to do that though? Absolutely not!
1:01:01 - No. The developers have said that we will be able to own apartments in cities like this but how that will work is not yet known. There will be other points of interest within the city like this that are away from the main area, but again right now, that is not known.

Sadly the spartan truck that went up to jumptown that they blew up with the guns on top of the building... I was in it. I tried to rush up to jump town and zoomed right past because I couldn't slow down. by the time I got back to building I was so busy looking for fighters I completely froze when they opened up on me with the miniguns. sigh. I went back later but was fun as a single player trying to get into the area.
Space yacht, 890jump is like 30mil in game I think so yeah it is an epic grind to reach. If you purchase it with real money its like 900+$ so yeah in game is the way to go.
The city they keep showing is area 18 on Arccorp. So 99% of the building there you cant enter. There are a few towers and other locations you can land at. you learn them when you do package delivery missions so I'm not sure which building it is he is on. They are beginning work on expanding out more buildings and locations so we'll eventually get more places but most cities have a few spots beyond the space ports you can go to.
HARDWARE: So as for hardware I got a i7 that is kinda old. 32GB of ram and a SSD. it streams a lot of stuff so definitely need 150GB on one to load the game there. I had a 1050 nvidia and it had a hard time in cities but out in the wilderness and space it was fine. I have a 3050 RTX and its fine everywhere. So you don't need bleeding edge gear. Now if you are recording and gaming then it will drop frames and have a little bit of an issue streaming. I have recorded in OBS without an issue.
Not a dev but here's the low down on Getting into the game:
COST: Just get the basic starter ship you like. about 40-60 USD.
Aurora and mustang are fine ships can carry a little and enough firepower to handle some like bounty space combat missions. These two lack beds so you got to fly back to a station or world to hangar it before logging. If you don't the ship will be left drifting in space and you will wake up back at home. beds in ships are nice to have for when you just want to jump in and do stuff and leave without all the running around. (40$)
    rest are 50-60$
The Cutter holiday starter pack has a ship with more cargo space to drop boxes or park a jeep like STV or golf cart like PTV (both you can get in game after you do 2-3 missions you can buy them). It has a bed so you can log out in it anywhere and relog back in it.
The 100i holiday pack has the origin 100i. If you remember the 400i from the video it is the little brother to that. Origin makes apple like sleek ships. It has a side door so there is room to shove some boxes and gear. Overall its just a more stylish ship. Oh it has a bed as well.
Avenger Titan aka space penguin is a really nice ship. its a bit older so it has some hit or miss issues with it. More cargo than the cutter but is narrow so it can only fit the PTV or a speeder (aka Nox, maybe the hoverquad) it has good shields, a bed and really good firepower. can definitely handle a decent range of opponents and missions. Its the one I started in and still take it out even after I got bigger ships.
Pisces C8X. this is about the same cargo as a cutter but the shorter ceiling means it cant carry any vehicles. it has 4 guns so a little more firepower than all but the titan.
it has no bed and is expensive at $60 so its an okay ship. i use it about as much as I use the 100i. both ships can be spawned at mining outposts. the others are too big. so if I get shot down and get a ride to an outpost pisces and 100i are fast to get there and spawn.
RECOMENDATION: Cutter. It can carry a vehicle and cargo. even though the titan can carry more the extra fuel in the cutter means I can put the fastest quantum drive (SC's jump drive tech) and zip all over without running out of fuel all the time. But if you want to do more fighter combat do the titan. But if you want to save money just get a Aurora it has a cabin you can drop stuff when you need.
LEVELING UP THAT SHIP: Here is the fun part. the starter ships are good enough for low reputation missions. you can do FPS missions to make money so the ship wont matter. You can also join other crews and make really good money. You will get people doing jump town and just getting a bunch of people together to play. Or cargo running or salvage all require a few people and will net you some good money. So you can easily make enough to buy a titan or nomad pretty fast (first few days only playing a little) Try everything out there is a lot of options of what to do outside of combat. HOWEVER never do investigation missions that have you go into the caves to find the body. everyone gets lost for hours, never find the body all for crap pay.
There is a great community willing to help out new people. Just ask in chat and you will get plenty of people that will help you out or offer tips.
    Good luck

    Couple notes:
-The game is improving constantly, but it can be a buggy mess. Sometimes you'll keep dying to bugs or the game/servers will crash and can be frustrating. I think this is something very important to take into consideration, you have be patient to play this.
-This is best played with someone else to teach you the ropes or even a friend to learn together, it's way more fun that way. Folks are actually pretty nice and if you say you're a noob in the chat chances are someone will be up pick you up and teach you.
-You only need the 50$ pack to get the base game and a ship, the rest can be earned in game, there are some caveats but for the most part you can get everything playing. That being said, farming credits for some of the big ships can take a long time, but since those are meant to be played by groups, it can also be a nice goal to have. People who paid for expensive ships will have an advantage whenever a new patch resets everyone's accounts, until the rest catch up.
-This video showcases PvP combat, while AI on spaceships function fairly ok, at the moment, ground AI characters are really dumb and slow to react 90% of the time, making the FPS PvE combat pretty meh most of the time. Hopefully that'll change in the future but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon.
-Another thing is that there are some non combat gameplay loops, in different stages of progress. My favorite and one of the most advanced ones is mining, it can be exciting and rewarding to learn the mechanics, your experience and skill as a player matters, it's really well done.

This one time I was pirating with a buddy in a Cutlass, him flying and me in turret.
Mid-combat the ballistics in my turret ran out of ammo so I left the turret and headed into the back.
My pilot was forced into evasive manoeuvres by the much more agile Sabre we were fighting.
I wanted to try something so I opened the rear ramp, equipped my shoulder mounted rail gun and took the shot.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the explosion.

Personally I would say be patient. IMO right now isn't the time to join. They usually have "free fly" events where you can check it out so i'd suggest keeping your eyes out for that until next year. Right now they're basically getting the server's back-end architecture built out to support the "MMO" part of the game and it looks like it'll ACTUALLY happen next year some time. The game can be really epic, especially with the events like "Xeno Threat" or "Siege of Orison" (some videos on those would be great to see you react to also :) Farrister has a Xenothreat video if you're interested ), but it can also be super buggy and laggy since we've been waiting on the upcoming server updates for several years.

I started SC in early 2020 and am glad to be part of a game that is more than just a product, it really is about the community. I've grown tired of games that come and go every two to three years because the next big thing comes out and the population moves on but in SC I feel there is an experience that will last many, many years to come. The fact that we get to enjoy the thrills and pains of this game while it is being developed just gives me a deeper experience with others that join and stay because they are truly passionate about the moments we share. A finished product is like going into a restaurant and being served a meal, while SC is like going to the restaurant and being in the kitchen with the cook while your meal is being made. You get to see and taste everything as it is being put together so that by the time this thing is "done" all the hard earned experiences will make it taste that much sweeter.
I believe that is also part of the magic. Because any other game that is being made by a company of developers stuck behind closed doors will never know the love and passion of the players like the developers of SC do. Being played while it grows makes SC a shared experience between the developers and the players, a synergy of love for the game, making the whole more than the sum of its parts.

What fighters are a lot faster than heavy fighters, meaning heavy fighters usually have to just hang back and wait for the light fighters to pass. By staying near the objective and having our lightfighters and interceptors kite them back to us we were more or less just raking them across the coals repeatedly

I've had this kind of experience a couple if times.
    Both at Jump Town.
First time trying to hold control of it with a 6 man team. Managed to hold it for about 6 hours. A lot of carnage in that time.
Second time trying to take control of it with a 4 man team. Gave up after a couple hours.
SC has immense possibilities. But as you can see the MP team is the best way to experience it.
The hard part is getting the team together and work together. As it is in any MP experience.
My crew tends to lean toward responsible fathers/mothers who's family time is more important than gaming. So timing is a big factor.
My best gaming memories are in SC. Been playing it since we could log in. And have yet to have anything close in any other game.
Even the random encounters as a solo player can have great moments, but sharing experiences with good friends is always the best.

    Rattler IIs (infrared cluster missile)
For when you need more missiles than sense.
As for Novas, their main cannon is insanely powerful however compared to ship weaponry the projectile velocity is sluggish so you need to lead your targets a lot more (and making a hit a lot less of a guarantee). They also have a couple missile racks of decent size which means they can compliment (though not replace) the Ballista that carries much larger missiles. If stationary this can all be managed by a single person but more likely you want to crew with 2. Technically you can crew up to 3 with a remote turret with 2 weapon mounts, but overall that isn't seen as worth the extra manpower most of the time. Great deterrent against other ground vehicles and larger ships, pretty vulnerable against ships that can shake their missiles and deflect against the main cannon.

If you're looking for more Star Citizen content to react to, I recommend Voidy Vids - www.youtube.com/@VoidyVids or Citizen Kate - www.youtube.com/@Citizen_Kate Both put out some really fun gameplay showcase videos. For Void you get a lot of hilarious Jumptown runs and for Kate you can check out a more rounded view of the available gameplay.
If you're not sure if your system can handle it, I suggest waiting until they do a free fly. CIG usually runs one at least twice a year and it's a good way to get a feel for the game with no money down. A starter package will run you between 45 and 75 dollars depending on what you get. All ships are available for purchase with in game credits one quarterly patch after they are released in game. You can usually grind up to the highest tier ships pretty quickly if you team up with an org and/or you participate in some of the dynamic events for a few days.
I'd say the biggest two problems the game has right now are positional desync as a result of networking issues and NPC AI problems that are the result of server frame rate issues. They're currently in the middle of major upgrades to their network code, so performance on those two issues is wildly inconsistent from patch to patch. Sometimes everything in the world is teleporting around you and the AI don't notice you for several minutes, and sometimes everything is running smoothly and the NPC's end up being absolutely deadly. There are quite a few other, lesser bugs, but most have work arounds and aren't necessarily game breaking.
They're still adding a lot to the game, so I wouldn't expect them to focus on polishing and performance for several years yet. I mean, they do a bit of optimization as they go, but the game plays like they're only bug fixing to a minimum performance standard while they cram in new systems. I'd say right now is a good time to invest time in the game only if you're interested in the process of development and curious about all the new systems. It's a lot of fun, but there are too many "Mind the Mess" moments for me to recommend it for general consumption at this point.

That last part, where you're looking at the city planet of Area 18, you cannot go into all of the individual buildings. There are areas of interest where there are landing platforms on buildings, pickup and dropoff locations, etc, but you cannot enter every building. They were exploring how to do that, but their procedural interiors generation isn't polished enough to build every interior, and they are still working on engine/database tech to allow for those locations to stream in and out and to run on separate servers.

I would also like to add that anyone that is trying to play this game with a intel 12th+ gen cpu, you will HAVE to disable you E Cores in order to get rid of some stutter even if your fps is high(120+). Disabling hyperthreading in the BIOS as well may improve it as well. while you can disable the E Cores with affinity through task manager, there is a stark difference in which method you use. its got to do with how the game engine doesnt like the amount of cores and how it processes the data. hopefully the vulkan code will shunt the load more towards the gpu and have it to where these methods do not have to be used.

Remember, this is an old video. The game has improved since then. Also, your computer can handle it. The minimum requirements that CIG puts out are a quad-core CPU, a 3gig video card, 16megs of ram and I must add as crusual, an SSD drive. I ran it on a potato laptop (not even a gaming laptop) with an i5, 16gigs or ram, nVidia 1050T, and of course, the SSD.
Yes, combat like that is all part of the game, or if you want, you can safely just salvage ships, mine asteroids, or haul cargo around (and much much more).
No ship is the best ship. The game is not pay-to-win. Larger ships take a crew to run them. It is all skill-based on how good you are with a mouse, controller, or joystick. I have seen people in starter ships take out huge multi-crew ships. In fact, some gamers pride themselves on dogfighting in starter ships. All flyable ships can be purchased in-game with credits. There is also a trade-in system (called Cross Chassis Upgrade, CCU). If you have a lower-priced ship and you want something bigger, you can trade the ship for the full value you paid for it up to another ship. I have gotten all 37 of my ships like that over the course of 5 years.
890 Jump (Yacht) is not cheap, $950 OR you can grind it in the game for 32,294,500 credit (UEC). It's not impossible to get. I've bought two (in-game).
Here is another thing most don't know, you will never find a friendlier or non-toxic group of players in any game. Remember, people put up money to back this game so they want more people to play it. It has become common to see people in chat say they are new players and be flooded with money. In fact, I saw one TH-camr who started playing the game and within two hours had 41 million given to him to start with. One reason is there are still wipes (hasn't happened in a while but still possible) so money is fleeting but more than anything people really want this game to succeed.
Not all the buildings accessible but quite a few are. Some just have only drop-off points in them. There are plans to make them more accessible with stores and missions.

There are many things that can call people into Star Citizen, for me it was the medical gameplay. But I felt it too.
Star Citizen war story: We were running a rescue mission out of a bunker, one patient downed, we were on high alert as we had been ambushed earlier that day, we had a second team on standby on a nearby station, we rescued the patient, and our ship outside was picking up incoming, we went back to the surface only to see our ride, and our escort destroyed before our very eyes, that's when they started shelling the entrance, I ordered the men and patient back inside, and to take cover, for 5 minutes we endured heavy gunfire, then wave after wave of them stormed the entrance, we held our own, staying up while our reinforcements jumped to the planet, the patient then pulled a gun, and shot one of my men and then another, I turned and shot, and killed him, he had been in on it from the beginning, I killed him, but not before the next wave of pirates surged in and kill me too, as I fell to my knees, and screamed into the radio telling team 2 that we were all down, and they were finishing us off, team 2 dropped a nuke on the entire base, and destroyed all the pirates and their ships in the space of thirty seconds.

The 890 jump is a really big ship, Its big enough to have 4 decks with multiples rooms on each deck, even a pool a restaurant/bar basketball court, sauna...its not even a joke
but its the smallest of the big ships that will ultimately be in Star citizen, For example, the bengal carrier 2km long there is a subway system in the ship(still not in game)
those ship cost a lot, but you can also buy then in game. If you are playing with an org, you will get money easier and get new ships quicker because missions that requirer more ppls pay a lot more than solo missions, But because its still in alpha you need to know that sometimes, CIG (the company studio of Star citizen) will wipe the progress.
They do that because the economy system is still in test and if they break the economy they need a wipe of the progress. Utimatly when the game will release like other mmo there will be no wipe but because its still in alpha it can happen that sometimes you loose things you earned in games.
When you buy a ship you always have it obviously they can not wipe a purchase.

The cutless opens fire, my friend gets the ship on (I left the ship on but kept only shields up) he Flys back, to the mission, he gets out of the seat onto the top gun of the msr, lays fire into the cutless, I get on a mounted mini gun from the facility, spray the cutless, he blows up (soft death ship is off but not blownup) the cutless driver last ditch effort, and guides the cutless into the msr killing my friends and blowing up out last resort off of the planet, and was stranded, with a timer of trespassing counting down, snow every where 12min left of air, and called for an escort that cost me 10k usce 😂

You can rent or buy all ships and vehicles in the game for in-game credits. You don't need to use real money beyond a base game package unless you want to support the project. Also, some of us have been putting in $50 - $100 a month for 10 years, it builds up. Hardly anyone drops 'big bucks' all in one go.
You can't rent the 890 Jump but you can buy it in the game for 32,294,500 aUEC. In the RSI store it is $950m but they only sell them a few times a year and only a limited number - they usually 'sell out' in less than a minute.
Just say what your PC specs are, we can tell you how it will run. the barest minimum is an SSD drive with at least 120GB free space, a 6 core / 12 thread CPU with AVX instruction set, 32GB RAM and a GPU with a minimum of 8GB VRAM.

The Nova tank would be considered a toy in 40k the Bane-blade would just roll over it and its done , and fun fact about the bane-blade : it was meant to be a light tank during the golden age of mankind. (and we never even saw the actual heavy tanks , they could have be in the same weight class as titans but we dont know for sure. )

You can't go inside many buildings, YET, but they are planning for you to be able to go in them, not sure about all, as that would be a breach of privacy, but maintenance jobs will have you going inside building to repair stuff. So who knows? You can land on a lot of the big ones, but some of the textures you can't stand on yet, so you have to know that building specifically, or get lucky.

the biggest event for my org which is a small security org that slowly grews was an security job for an 100man battle done by a big discord community. There were pirates who wanted to grief this event and it ended with an 100man ship battle wich was so much fun i cant even describe it.

@41:40 you can buy everything in game, except certain weapons which are lootable only. If you want a ship in game, just do whatever to make income in game and go rent or buy the ship. No need to spend RL $ except to get a game package to play. Those are just around $45.

the 890j or yard is like 2000 bucks irl and they are limited sales , but you can get it ingame for 32 mil which is currently the most expensive ship you can buy ingame.

  • @FreeMatter4TheBlind
    @FreeMatter4TheBlind 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

When it comes to ship combat, more important than the ship is the skill of the pilot. Plus the bigger, more expensive ships require more players to operate efficiently using all the turrets.

Feel free and join. You're welcome!
However, all the great fun you saw here is difficult to do alone. You'll need friends. Also, Jumptown is a event that isn't always up, so the battle shown in the vid is not the ordinary day ... 🙂
And yes, my org takes part in similar events from time to time. Sometimes they're set up from scratch, sometimes they're provided by game mechanics like the JumpTown event. There are other events, like the Xenothreat event. Usually, those events are meant to stresstest the servers by bringing as much players as possible to one spot and have it duke out with each other or versus the NPCs.
They're are all epic on their own, but not the standard stuff you usually get to see.
2024 is gonna be a great year for us Citizens, you can't go wrong by joining the game now. :-)
    See ya in the 'Verse!

Only experience ive had like that (mainly because ive focused on other things in the game (like trading and such), was when i was doing a "pick up" mission, which sends you out to places to retrieve boxes that you then drop off at another location.
Last night, was mid-run in a mission when i noticed a ship was shooting at my landed one... i was mid-way looting a enemy AI i had killed and had to run back to my ship to quickly hop into the pilot-seat, hoping whoever was shooting at it wouldn't kill it before i could take off. Thankfully, what was shooting at it had not fully broken through the rear shields prior to me getting airborne.
I THOUGHT i was being tacked by another player at first but realized it was an AI that somehow showed up (sometimes people can trigger missions for themselves that make enemies spawn ontop of someone else doing a completely different mission).
Halfway through the fight with the fighter that was attacking my cargo ship, i get a missile lock followed by a 'ping' of another contact, then warning of a incoming missile. I narrowly escaped a f'ing TORPEDO that i watched fly past my ship's nose, only to turn around and see a fricken Retaliator bomber + another Fighter (both AI) Had shown up, so i was now dealing with 3 enemy ships at once, while in a cargo ship.
The Saving grace, is i had set up my ship to be able to somewhat 'punch above its weight', vai sacrificing half of its 'offensive' firepower with guns that disable rather than destroy (called distortion cannons). I used those to basically knock out the shields, engines/powerplants of the ships that were attacking me. All while fighting and maneuvering 'literally' on the deck (i dont think i ever got over 1500m in height over the ground)
Turned around and outright destroyed the first fighter that attacked me out of spite, but managed to 'soft-kill' the Retaliator And the other ship that attacked me (which i think i was one of the Cutlass Variants). Climbed into the disabled/soft-killed ships, and found the bodies of the AI Crew.. dragged them out of the ships, and looted their gear, then went back to finishing my mission before calling a friend in-game who had a Vulture to come salvage the wreckage :D
Not only did i end up with extra loot from that experience, but we also made another 80,000$ in-game credits off the salvage from the destroyed ships :D
(also, Chicago Reacts, do you guys have a direct-donation link anywhere?)

the nova tank is armed with a size 5 (weapons range from 1-10) ballistic cannon, a turret with 2x size 2 CF-227 badger repeater lasers and a rack of 12 size 2 missiles for good measure.the tanks front armor is also very heavy and quite resiliant to most smaller weapons.

I've definitely encountered combat thats as intense and sometimes more intense depending on the events you attend in game. It's definitely rare to run into, but every now and then, there's some truly wild stuff that happens, and it serves as a reminder of the lengths this game can get to, even in an alpha state.

    For specs reference...
I been playing SC since 2015 with...
    AMD FX8350 CPU
    Samsung EVO SSD's
16G ram, upgraded to 32G about 2 years ago. Made big difference in environment loading/streaming.
GTX 1060 Super at 1080p. Upgraded to RTX 2070 Super about 3 years ago. Wanted that 1440p for a bigger screen.
Main graphics setting on high, the few others available, medium to high.
I have consistently gotten 30ish FPS is major landing zones (cities). In space about 50ish. And everything in between in different environments.
SC performance continues to improve for me.
Each patch has different outcomes though.

Jumptown is so fun, heartbreaking, and amazing when you win it. Some people don't love the open PVP in Star Citizen, but for me, it is what makes the game. Constant risk, constant suspense, constant immersion.

  • @walther007
    @walther007 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

You can spend $3k on a Javelin which isn't out yet but you need a crew of like 80 to properly crew it. Cloud Imperium Games (CIG) which is making Star Citizen is heavily pushing multi-crew gameplay. While you will be able to solo move a ship, most large ships cannot fire and pilot as one position. You will be able to use server blades to control turrets as AI but at the loss of what other ability those blades could be used for in place of real people or NPCs. NPCs can be hired...while costs would be similar to hiring an apprentice, journeyman, etc. Those costs are also daily as you're hiring them for a job. They will also require sleep and food if using them for multiday or long duration excursions. In the end, having a bunch of friends on a big ship is a much better deal.
