Nice to see you're staying focused on your trees.

Can you share where to get your soil mix? Thanks

i was using Bonsaijack universal inorganic mix from their website. for cuttings and airlayers I've been using a coco coir and perlite mix. i order a big bag of perlite and the coco compressed bricks online.

Love your work, you're always so careful and thoughtful. Are you going to chop the one that bushed out low at the 1:00 mark?

thanks brother. yeah, I'm definitely going to chop the main branch down below the 'bush' later on. that's my sacrifice, lower trunk thickening branch. the middle section of this future bonsai's trunk is in that bush. i really like a lot of taper, even a bit exaggerated, in the trucks of small bonsai, so I'm trying to take my time with these and build them in the style i like.

@@DarthMasiah Yeah I agree...if you're gonna go for taper, max it out. How many red maples (acer rebrums) do you have? I have a bunch of seedlings that I've potted and a million more have reseeded this spring, but I have nothing developed and rarely see those developed as bonsai.

@@BostonBonsaiIdiot only two that I've been working on for a couple years. looks like i finally got some cuttings to take when i cut them right when i saw buds swelling. check out my thread on them
