Removing the motor is the reason I have put this off for a few days now, still looking for alternatives. I have a '16 250fx so luckily this should be step by step the same process. I'm wondering if there's a way to tilt the motor back instead of removing it..
I am currently going through this process with a 2019 yz250fx. Thanks for the video. Question - is it 100 percent necessary to remove the bolt at 3:40? I can't see how it connects to the motor in any way. Also, what size is it? I have a 3/4 but its not locked in tight and i don't want to strip it.
Nice but you dismantled the entire bike to do the drain plug ? No way to drill and retape to the next size bolt or a way to do it in the bike by hand maybe idk this seems like a lot of work for one hole
Brilliant vid. How’d it hold up ? And did u manage to get most of the shavings out. I stripped my bottom oil filter cover bolt on my WR450 07’ I may have to do this
Great video! Recently bought a 17 250f and did my first oil change and discovered previous owner had stripped the drain plug. Time Sert it is.
How did it go?
Great video. Appreciate the detailed video and bonus how to on removal of engine. And great mindset

I’m trying a piggyback drain plug this week
Be careful with these! They can crack the case.
@@hunta413 I was able to angle the motor enough to do this repair and it went great, still holding oil fine after 5+ hours on the bike!
@Devin Zeyher hey mate how did you tilt the motor? cheers!
Well done. I'm curious why you can't just tap it and move up to a larger size bolt?
I believe you can, but don’t quote me on it. I was planning on doing that on my crf🤷♂️👍
I used the time sert on mine after pulling the engine. I used the M10x1.25 size and 14mm in length.

I used the time sert kit. Tapped it by hand instead of a drill

I may have to do this
I think I did get most of the shavings out. We should be changing oil shortly so I will check if anything is in the filter.
Thanks for the video I'm about to do the same repair on the same bike. What length of insert did you use?
I just used the 14mm length. Worked well.
@@russellsmith3503still holding up?
Yes it's a solid repair@@firesquad6150
did you have to take the rear end off the bike ?
don't get mad at the kid for not teaching about aluminum casings!
