  • APHA solid mare Tommys Conversation aka "Connee" wants to help Cody get better by licking his throat for him after having his tonsils and adnoids removed. I had never experienced anything like this before, but found it totally amazing that my horses would behave in such a loving and caring manner.
How many other people have had such a beautiful opportunity to see their horses attempt to help heal one of your injuries or perhaps someone elses???
Your comments and experiences are welcome.

Thank You Tess.... He had surgery to remove tonsils & adnoids. She did it a good 3 minutes or more. All of my mares did that to him but my camera wasn't with me the other time. They ALL totally amazed me with their sincere affection & love they displayed. They heal in so many ways. Just being around them has such a healing power for the mind, emotions & body.

Animals have ways of knowing us that we can't predict or understand.
I've found (so far) that every good natured horse I've yet encountered will lick my hands and
arms (or face) as long as I'll let them. I use this "lick test" to predict whether or not they will warm up to me. So far it has never failed. Every horse that licks me has turned out to be a sweet natured horse. So far.

The horses are licking the sodium off the kid. The image of the child enjoying the moment is Canadian!

Alot of animals have this strange sixth sense that they applied like this horse did. Not just horses. Dogs can be that way too. Even wild animals of all kinds can be like that. Most of them have to. Otherwise they wouldnt tend to their kinder.

Wow! That's amazing. It proves how little credit we give horses. They are so sensitive, so intuitable.
Also, cute kid and gorgeous horses : )
Are you in Florida? The sand, sky and trees remind me somehow.
