The director(crew?) said that it's because Japanese people back then doesn't express their love in the obvious way like kissing & stuff. They might do it privately but not publicly. So they were trying to keep that part realistic

I told my daughter that this is one of my favorite anime back in the day, after watching all of the movies in the Netflix, my daughter was even encouraged to watch the anime. One of my proudest moments as an anime fan. ❤️❤️

Her smile is so adorable. And i don't get ppl who hate Kaoru for being weak or whatever. She's a child who was born in peaceful era unlike Kenshin. She's a swordwoman, not a real killing machine or a soldier who fought in wars. She uses her skills not to fight for real, but to give lessons to earn money for the whole family!! She's the one financially supporting all those kids & guys relying on her dojo to eat. And she's doing all that at 17. She isn't any less than Kenshin for not being a killer like him.🙃 Instead, she's probably the only one in the whole series who has her shit together.
Why would anyone hate Kaoru? She's the only light on Kenshin's dark world. She represents hope on Kenshin's. She's a fresh breath from all of Kenshin's life chaos. That's why she became that precious to him. She's the only thing Kenshin can turn his life around, the only person he cared so much he's willing to kill again just to save her. She's someone who Kenshin hold onto to not succumb to be a killing machine again and hit rock bottom again. When he gave a flower to her and says like "take care of this" meaning he likes what he is nowadays because she changed him. And he needa Kaoru in order to not go back into his old self again. So why people hate her 😢
Rurouni Kenshin is my favourite samurai movie. All the casts have portrayed their roles so well! I think they made the best decision to pick Satoh Takeru as Himura Kenshin

I love this Anime, one of my favorite since I was a child, One of my Ultimate Crush since I was a kid, Kenshin Himura.
