it’s not supposed to be painful, the fact that the whole process was painful is NOT good i hope you don’t experience a huge amount of breakage when taking it out. i’m so sorry you went through that, i understand the not wanting to speak up too😭
oh girl i feel that sew-in pain to my core 😭😭 plus I'm tender headed so i can remember silently crying in the salon chair before bc my head hurt so bad... i usually would take pain meds before sitting in the chair to try to prepare 🤡
I definitely think a more one on one stylist will be perfect for you! 300 is crazyyy for a sew in without hair included. Definitely a cheaper option is more realistic!
As a person who has been getting sewins for 10+ years, your scalp isn’t used to the tension of a sewin. As you get them more, your scalp will get used to it and the pain will lessen. The braids will have to be neat in order for your foundation and tracks to lay properly. I also do believe finding the stylist for yourself will improve your experience. I hope this doesn’t stop you from getting sewins because they are great!
I'm sorry you went through that, It wasn't supposed to be painful like that. I've had 2 sew ins and i'm new to It, the braids were a little tight but that was the only pain that I felt. It loosened up in about a week. Try the hairstyle again, but definitely go somewhere else.
Coming from someone who’s gotten multiple sew ins, the braids are like that so they can make your sew in last for the longest duration. The perfection hurts but it does help the style last
I understand entirely the people-pleasing and socially anxious tendency. It's so easy to suffer in silence because you're too scared to 'inconvenience' or 'bother' someone. Not to give out advice or anything, but seeing a therapist actually helped me overcome these tendencies and learn to advocate for myself :) I'm sorry you went through that, hopefully next time is better!
for your tuna, squeeze the water out of it straight from the can first then add the rest of your things. it’ll look like some dry crumbles before you add your yogurt but helps A LOT with it being runny/watery after you mix it up❤
No joke I’d recommend carrying a backpack when you go grocery shopping!! I know your backpack will probably not be spacious enough but it makes a difference!! Also can you maybe do a video on how you grow your channel ? I’ve been posting and following many necessary tips that don’t seem to work overtime :/ 🎀
The braids have to be tight and small so the sew can last longer. If the braid were lose the tracks will fall faster. It’s probably because it was your first time that it hurt so much but once your use it doing it it shouldn’t. ❤
I wasn’t the one experiencing the sew in but I felt every bit of that pain through your explanation… tight, fresh, neat braids… My scalp would have been on fire, itching like hell, when it’s too tight it itches.
your hair looks so good! Remember to sit under an overhead dryer or one of the portable ones you can hook up to your blow dryer for like an hour or two to make sure to braids underneath is this dry and don’t get Mold when you wash it
Honestly what I’ve realized (as a girl with curly hair) that the denim brush works better on 3c hair and under HOWEVER I do believe like you said for courser hair a wide tooth comb is best and for looser curls a denim brush would be better than a wide tooth comb from what I’ve experienced. Your feelings about this place are valid and you are a customer ! You’re supposed to leave a review n such if you weren’t satisfied with your service.. others may thank you cause you stoped them from having a bad experience :)
I’m definitely sorry that you experienced that. I’m more of a girl myself. These type of experiences are why I don’t do sew-in hairstyles. I am not Tinder headed at all, but I would be worried about the aftermath. I hope you don’t have too much breakage and you experience relief soon.
I loved this video! I’m sorry so to hear about your sewin experience and hope that the pain has gone away for you. It seems like you were having a good time at GOV BALL!
I relate so much with hair stylists using the wrong brush!!! So painful, can HEAR the breakage, and it’s also inefficient. Like what happened to wide tooth combs?? I went to a very reputable salon in la and they used one of those hand barber brushes and I never went back. 29:21
If you ever do decide to do another sew-in before your appointment you definitely want to eat and take medicine because sew-ins are usually known to be painful because of the braid down and the sewing of the tracks and also ask if they can oil your scalp after the braid down the place seemed reasonable I think it being your first experience is why you’re feeling like it was the place. Also some people’s scalps can’t handle sew-ins and it might not be for you so just keep that in mind!
I warm up my overnight oats to help with the texture (just like quick, short bursts till they're warm, not too hot or they dry out) which I think to everyone but me just makes them oatmeal lol but I can't with the way they set fresh out of the fridge
Lasik sounds like a good solution on paper but I've never heard or seen eye drs. with Lasik nor do a lot of them recommend it unfortunately. I've also read stories online about it too and how some people regret it and would've rather just worn contacts. I'm alright with my contacts atp LOL
I heat up my overnight oats (bc I only make them in winter) (it just has protein oats, protein yoghurt and oat milk) and maybe that defeats the point, but there is no grainy texture and it just becomes a really creamy porridge (and then a bit of cold yoghurt on top). Chia puddings are for summer 🫡
aw im sorry about your salon experience. I once got crochet box braids - the stylist said she didn't braid tight. anyways.....I kept the crochet braids in for 5 days. I couldn't handle the tightness. I probably spent $150 but didnt care. My head is sensitive and I truly dont like people doing my hair. they too rough
I think you should try a V part wig. Have the stylist sew the permitter of the part of V part wig on to your head and of course have your natural hair cover the tracks. I think you should take a try at doing it yourself one day. I understand your pain because I am tender headed so I learned how to do my own hair.
to find who knows how you like your hair done you’re gonna have to speak up. when something painful when you don’t like something when you want it done certain way. Hopefully next time you have the courage.❤
Hey i loved watching ur videos I was curious what size you got the jeans in because I’ve bought so many different types and sizes of jeans but i can never find a pair that fits me properly. I have a similar body type to you so I was curious what size you got them in. Thankk youu ❤❤
I definitely don’t think it’s supposed to hurt that bad. I’ve also never had to run water under my hair to soothe a burning feeling. I’ve also done a sew in and the only thing that really hurts is the needle accidentally stabbing the head. (It was my first time, we were rushing, she’s my friend. relax 😂) I definitely think its because of the tightness of the braids, and possibly the excessive pulling on the tracks like you said (which also doesn’t make sense to me because they don’t need to pull on the tracks or the braids themself). I’m so sorry this happened to you. It pains me when people don’t have a great hair experience. I’ve had the personal experiences so my experiences are different. And I definitely think it would be better for you.
The hair is beautiful! Where did you purchase it? I’m also sensitive to overly tight sew ins. I actually do my own now. I still braid neatly, but I do less braids and I’m able to control how tight everything is. It’s kinda reward doing it yourself. I hope it’s feeling better now, you look gorgeous!
I want to try a sew-in but I’m natural and don’t want any leave out. Is that a closure? But isn’t a closure just a wig? Idk but I want something medium with bangs
Girl I feel you 1,000% on the whole hair experience. You didn’t know what to except BUTTT now you know!!! I once went to get my hair braided after no one touching my hair but be for a looong time and she blew dried my hair without asking (even tho i came blow dried) and then proceeded to braid tight. After the first braid i went got the bathroom almost cried, came back to her and told her my stomach was hurting that I wanted to go home but I’ll still pay her. So i paid $235 for one single braid LMAOOOO. Maybe creating a personal list of non negotiables for yourself to have when you go to the hair salon will help. Basically just a few things you’re not ok w and some things you wanna ask before hand will help you. I’m sorry you had to go through that and i’m hopeful you will find someone better in the future 🫶🏾
I know it was super expensive, but I almost feel like you should take it down because if it felt that tight to you, it’s a good chance they put a lot of tension on your hair which could cause breakage
Babe I don’t know who lied to you but it’s never supposed to feel like that! Make sure you’re checking your scalp, because you can get sores and it can make your hair fall out. I got a sew in for the first time, paid $300, and took it out two days later because I couldn’t even sleep
It's a pity that you had such an awful experience. You should definitely try curly clip ins you can even install them yourself and they look just as great as a sew in!🤗
People saying is not supposed to hurt: I've never gotten a hairstyle that didn't hurt, and i'm talking dutch braids here. Some of us have sensitive scalps, so don't tell people is not supposed to hurt at all cuz it could worry them! Regardless of that I'm so sorry you went through that pain, clearly no hairstyle should feel so debilitating
The last time I got a sew in a few months ago (mind you I’ve had a sew in dozens of times) my scalp literally hurt SO BADLY that I sobbed because I could not fall asleep to save my life. I was unable to sleep for over 48hrs and when I took it out I had sooo much breakage and now I have a bald spot on the back of my head 🥲 I think I’ll be taking a long long break before I ever do it again - also at least where I live $300 is pretty normal and the braids usually look like that and are “clean and tighter” to prevent the tracks from slipping I believe
I'm sorry for the experience you had Maya! It is definitely important to share your opinions. You expressed your experience very gracefully ❤ it's a pity when you feel like professionals just don't take care of you correctly. I've experienced that too (in my case they were brushing my hair so intensely that my scalp was hurting), never went back to that salon 🥲
it’s not supposed to be painful, the fact that the whole process was painful is NOT good i hope you don’t experience a huge amount of breakage when taking it out. i’m so sorry you went through that, i understand the not wanting to speak up too😭
the way i was JUST thinking "she always unpacking some groceries" before you even said it LMFAOOOOO
SAMMEEEE

The sew pain hurtsss especially on your first time! It’s like that so it lasts longer but it’s your first time so ofc all your points are validddd
I understand entirely the people-pleasing and socially anxious tendency. It's so easy to suffer in silence because you're too scared to 'inconvenience' or 'bother' someone. We are SO back!
I wasn’t the one experiencing the sew in but I felt every bit of that pain through your explanation… tight, fresh, neat braids…
My scalp would have been on fire, itching like hell, when it’s too tight it itches.
your hair looks so good! Remember to sit under an overhead dryer or one of the portable ones you can hook up to your blow dryer for like an hour or two to make sure to braids underneath is this dry and don’t get Mold when you wash it
sew ins have always been painful for me so i feel for you girl 😢 can’t sleep for days 😭

🤎🤎
I LOVE the hair!!! I think its my fav of everything u had, also tuna salad>>>>>> theres no single day i dont think of it
Yeah the hair situation sounds insane. I've never experienced pain during a sew-in install. It doesn't have to hurt like that
i appreciate the honesty bc i relate 😭🫶 i hope that you feel better now and find the best place/person next time
Supergoop came out with some need and darker shades i think, in their protec(tint) line, if you wanna try them 23:45
Honestly what I’ve realized (as a girl with curly hair) that the denim brush works better on 3c hair and under HOWEVER I do believe like you said for courser hair a wide tooth comb is best and for looser curls a denim brush would be better than a wide tooth comb from what I’ve experienced. Love your hair. You always look so nice. Did you drain the water or oil from the cans of tuna. That could cause the tuna salad to be runny.
love to stick up your videos on my tv when i clean 🥳🥳
aww love that!
Your skin looks soooo GOOOD !😍
I’m definitely sorry that you experienced that. I’m more of a girl myself. These type of experiences are why I don’t do sew-in hairstyles. I am not Tinder headed at all, but I would be worried about the aftermath. I hope you don’t have too much breakage and you experience relief soon.
I love the cardigan at 24:53, where is it from?❤️
definitely try abercrombie and fitch curve love shorts!! i have the same issue and they’re the only shorts that fit me right
Thats how i feel sometimes… when I’m nervous it is so hard to capture the moment.
I loved this video! I’m sorry so to hear about your sewin experience and hope that the pain has gone away for you. It seems like you were having a good time at GOV BALL!

1:02 girl look up Hulken! It’s a bag with wheels, I have like 5! You won’t regret it!!!! I promise. They’re better than the little carts.
I think you should try a V part wig. Have the stylist sew the permitter of the part of V part wig on to your head and of course have your natural hair cover the tracks. I think you should take a try at doing it yourself one day.

Buy the weave/braid spray to loosen up your hair
Heyy, what are the baggy pants called?
That’s why I don’t like sew-ins because they are always tight and take a couple days to a week to loosen up . I haven’t gotten a sew-in in 3 years
That was the same reaction I had with overnight oats. it lowkey baby food
Yeyy new vids
Oh damn I am so sorry for your bad experience
to find who knows how you like your hair done you’re gonna have to speak up. when something painful when you don’t like something when you want it done certain way. Hopefully next time you have the courage.❤
omg, where are the jean shorts from? the ones during the grocery unpacking
Hey i loved watching ur videos I was curious what size you got the jeans in because I’ve bought so many different types and sizes of jeans but i can never find a pair that fits me properly. I have a similar body type to you so I was curious what size you got them in. Thankk youu ❤❤
never been so early before omg hiiiii🙋🏽♀️

No I thought you said your hair is beautiful where did you purchase it as in like her natural hair
What’s the recipe for the chia pudding without the oats?
Love the hair❤
I was thinking of getting a saw in too cause am tired of braids but now I’m scared 😂
Same girl
I want to try a sew-in but I’m natural and don’t want any leave out. Is that a closure? But isn’t a closure just a wig? Idk but I want something medium with bangs

Don’t feel bad about not speaking up. I’m 26 and I still get nervous to speak up for myself. Anxiety isn’t easy 😔
I’m surprised you didn’t film Renee Rapp
It's a pity that you had such an awful experience. You should definitely try curly clip ins you can even install them yourself and they look just as great as a sew in!🤗
