      geoffdwarren good point mate must admit they are well thought out and designed just can’t get on with the receiver box. When in France I’m fishing with braid locked up on the river, when it goes off after a couple of bleeps it gives me a heart attack😳

    Excellent. Thanks for that mate. Was looking at these as the next step up from my bargain basement alarms, whose receiver is driving me crazy. But I see I’d be jumping from the frying pan into the fire 😩
    Good to have genuine non-biased product reviews 😉

      Thank you yes the receiver would drive you mad. Trying to step up in the alarm world is either problematic or expensive. I will be doing a long term wychwood AVS alarm review soon still budget but better in my eyes I have used them for a year now

    Thanks mate!
    Was just considering purchasing them ´cause they are on sale at a local dealer here in Germany.
    Beeing on a budget (think: corona) I kind of fell in love with them.
    Looked them up on youtube.
    Saw different vids.
    Yours being the only one that really brought up some information not only about the technical and tackle tart side of things....
    But about some issues also.
    Greetings from Germany

      Seltsamer Vogel no problem mate thank you for the comment. They are well regarded in the uk especially for barbel anglers on the river as they are well renowned for being waterproof. It’s like they put 10 designers in a room and incorporated every idea they came up with, too much going on. The wychwood AVX s alarms and receiver may be worth a look if you have them in Germany. A budget alarm but very good for the money. They do have a couple of niggles but with all cheaper alarms it’s what you can live with and work around. Will be doing a review on them in the next two weeks after a year of abuse 👍

    Hi mate do you know how to pair these alarms to the receiver? Thanks

    • @waitingfortheweekend2441
      @waitingfortheweekend2441  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sam Etchells ok mate 1) on the receiver press and hold the side function button while at the same time turn the receiver on. All the leds will flash 3 times at the same time. 2) Release the side function button and the first led will flash. 3) activate the alarm head colour that corresponds with the first led. 4) press the side function button once and it will move to the second led on the receiver. 5) follow steps above until you have gone through all the colour alarm heads that you have. 6) finally turn off the receiver and it will lock all heads to the receiver. If you don’t have one of the colours on the receiver ie you only have 2 or 3 heads just miss out the colours on the receiver you don’t have. keep pressing the function button till it gets to the head colours you have and activate that colour head. Sorry for the delay hope that helps 👍

    Random question folks
    I'm a very heavy sleeper and was wondering if there are any alarms available with you can connect to bluetooth hedaphones. Idea being they sound to you personally without waking everyone if you don't wake up too quickly.

    I have these alarms, like them but used them and a slight breeze made them beep now and again and they were on lowest sensitivity. any tips for keeping them silent in the wind?

    • @waitingfortheweekend2441
      @waitingfortheweekend2441  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      James Mc hi James can only assume you are using light bobbins or very slack lines as I have not found this problem, although I have been using them locked up tight lining to snags. The reason I got them was for the roller wheel as I use braid on the french rivers. Sorry I can’t be off help

      For there price point 8/10. They are very well made nice features like the cover, look good and are bullet proof in the wet. The receiver lets it down for me too many negatives

    Excellent review from yourself mate👍but it’s a 👎 from me they have far to many faults and dislikes! better roller bite alarms out there (for braided mainline) but since 1994 I’ve had delkims and will do until the day I carnt draw breath! Cheers Danboy 👊

    • @waitingfortheweekend2441
      @waitingfortheweekend2441  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Walker thank you mate appreciate the support. I’m like you have had the Delkims years, not had a problem with them but alas my french fishing has destroyed them 😢 should have brought another set sooner, especially since using braid. The CX alarms are very well designed but like you say have too many niggles for the type of fishing I’m doing on the river
