      Youre probably paying for the research and time it took to develop these palletes while the other brands just take the other products and read the ingredients off the back and recreate it

      msme3p pallets are made to be portable, and most people travel with them so you're not always just going a have a mirror on the go it's much more conventional to have a build in mirror with a pallet and honey if they expect me to drop 40-70$ on trhe damn thing they better make it convenient.

    • @kyleestones4755
      @kyleestones4755 6 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      every one of my pallets that have a mirror it’s either cracked, missing pieces or the whole mirror is gone and the pallet looks like shit most people travel with their makeup and it’s next to impossible to avoid breaking the mirror when I buy new pallets I tend to lean towards mirror less pallets

    I keep hearing people comment about how Bad Habit is ripping off these high-end brands. But I ask you - do you buy Q-Tips or do you buy other cotton swabs? Do you buy Advil or do you buy the store brand? Do you buy Kleenex or do you buy store brand tissues? Dupes have been around forever, and we're allbuying them.

    • @SaigesArstgo1031
      @SaigesArstgo1031 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Those have to be regulated the same way. The stuff from hush doesn’t as it is shipped from China. They can literally cause chemical burns, pink eye, infections, allergic reactions, rash and hives.

    • @bobettemccann8497
      @bobettemccann8497 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      They actually do need to be regulated in order to be imported here. Morphe shadows are mainly made in China as well. So are most of the clothes that we wear.

      Bad Habit LLC is based in Los Angeles. Cosmetics purchased from places such as AliExpress are not regulated. Because Bad Habit is a US based company, it is regulated by the FDA.

    A few days ago on your Snapchat story you were talking about being so overwhelmed you were skipping events and amazing experiences so you could film for us. I just wanted to say that you should always go to the events and get to take part in amazing experiences. Any true fan of yours including me would rather have one video every other week and have you happy and smiling than a whole bunch of videos each week where you’re stressed and unhappy. Your health is so much more important and you earned getting to go to these events. Please go out and have fun. You deserve it. We can wait a couple more days to watch a review. Love you Manny💖💖💖

    In my opinion the only thing that's getting ripped off is ME. These brands charge crazy prices even though companies like Bad Habit are doing the exact same thing for much less. I think it's time for these companies to do a little better and maybe stop being so money hungry bc it's been shown time and time again, you can produce BOMB products for a fair price and still sell.

      Interesting opinion, but big companies come up with original ideas that people live which is why they sell them for a lot more. Another smaller company just had to take a pallet people love and just match it as closely as they can which I don’t think is fair

    So we got Hush selling cheap AF palettes and still finding the coin to wrap their consumer's purchases in bubble wrap... and then we got Tarte - a MUCH bigger company, and sending out their outrageously priced products to their loyal customers in a crappy piece of tissue paper, with consumers complaining left right and centre about their broken palettes, and they still won't fix it with some bloody bubble wrap... Tarte what even are you doing?

    This had me shook. I love my ABH palette with Nicole but it was limited edition so I’d consider getting the dupe when I run out because I love it so much. Hush is not manufactured in China. It’s not counterfeit, the ingredients are 100% safe. I love hush. Other brands such as Huda Beauty and Anastasia Beverly Hills have great products but not everyone can afford. I personally can’t afford a +$40 palette, on the other hand Hush recreates these palettes for a way more affordable price. Yeah I guess you can say it’s a rip-off but if it works, it works.

    I’ll be honest. I don’t feel as bad with duped palettes. Especially if it’s from a company like Kylie cosmetics or some name brand company. Because if these cheap brands can create just as good shadows for much cheaper then those brands can do it too. I get jacking up the price for profit but then you’re limiting your consumer pool.

    Ripping off of brands product ideas is a sad part about these brands who dupe popular products. But I think in this case where the product is limited edition and isn't even sold anymore is great for people who couldn't get their hands on the original product. So idk its messed up but at the same time its helpful for a lot of consumers who can't even afford the high end products to begin with.

      He is not complaining about being dupes. They are rip offs. The problem is that these duping companies rips off other companies' creativity and style so they can make it more sellable (because you gonna know right away which palette they are ripping off). Obviously these don't matter for you, because you are not a company. You didn't spent months for creating something and promoting it. So yes, from an original company's standpoint, they are annoying as hell. An Manny is about to launch his own.

  • @zequinhaedani

    I agree with you, but at the same time I feel ripped off by the high end brands, because if the dupes can do a quality product and charge way less than the high end brands, why the high brands don't do the same? When I see a good quality dupe this question always pops in my head!!!! For that reason, I always buy a dupe if they are good quality because I prefer to support a brand who are fair in their price than supports a brand who want to rip people off!!! And I am not saying that because I can't afford high end products, is quite the opsite, because I can afford products, I am always thinking on those that can't, so supporting a brand that does dupe at lower price not only give people a chance to afford a good makeup, but also give a chance to smaller brands to grow, expand their products and reach more countries so more people can get a hold of their products. I know makeup isn't a necessity but depending on people situation can literally bring them to life make their self-steam grown.

    • @AtomicKittenBaby
      @AtomicKittenBaby 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i think one thing that goes into it is that the cost for higher end brands is just higher in general because the brand is bigger, so they have to, for, examlple, pay more employees, or they have more locations or physical stores, etcetera. its not every brand and and its not 100% of the overpriced-ness, but higher end products are bound to be a little bit more expensive because they have to cover more costs. then again, most brands do take advantage of the brand itself to overcharge, so everything comes into play at the end of the day.

    • @SilentTrip
      @SilentTrip 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do realize that coming up with formulas, colors, textures, layout, design and then manufacturing all of this cost so much? These cheap dupes are at a low price because they don’t have to pay for the cost of originality, the work is already done for them they just have to copy and paste.

    • @zequinhaedani
      @zequinhaedani 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I do realize that, but do you realize that most of those company do business with China manufactures? China manufacturers literally slave people in order do products at the very low price, so the idea of them paying more yada, yada it is more doing larger profit than paying way more to have their products done. So I keep my opinion that they could do better prices, I am not saying they should do at the same price as the dupes, but please 4, 5 10 times more is ridiculous! But again who would be paying for their glamorous yacht, their marvelous mansions, and luxury cars if they lower their prices? So cheaper product are not on their to-do list ever!!!!

    I’m not hating or anything but I just wanna say - yes I understand why creators hate their ideas being ripped off HOWEVER they’re being duped for those of us that can’t afford to splurge on the expensive original version therefore they’re including those on a budget by making dupes of those that are safe and healthy to use!
    And it’s not like it’s an EXACT rip off, why can companies like MAC and ABH bring out lipsticks that have the same colours and eyeshadows of the same shade? No one calls out the high companies but because the more affordable ones are “copying” the higher end ones it gets complained against.
    I own a lot of high end products and I own a lot of drugstore dupes, there’s nothing wrong with buying the rip off as it’s cheaper for some - myself included.

      Girl...you took the words right out of my mouth. That’s exactly how I feel when I see these videos. How many high end companies come out with a gold highlighter for example...the same color...and texture...but it’s fine..hmm. Maybe the dupe companies should try and make their packaging different from the original then it might be less of a scandal. But that’s just me 😂

    • @Ammarahxoxox
      @Ammarahxoxox 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Sam Riemann exactly!! At least they’re not trying to hide that it’s a dupe, with those companies you’re buying what you pay for whereas with high end ones you’re paying for packaging + ingredients + the product - not that it isn’t worth it because yES some products are but not many of their own items are original! Each brand has the same red lipstick! The same orange, brown, nude, etc etc. There isn’t much that’s original apart from the first one that comes out but other brands - even high end ones bring out their own version so why can’t the lower end brands do the same?? It’s hypocritical if you think about it, just because they’re cheaper they’re bashed on more.

    If a company can make this palette that is almost the exact same at this price point I'm down to buy it. I'm sorry. Not sorry. Like I get the whole amount of people saying come up with your own ideas but many brands come out with similar stuff. Your buying the name attached to the palette. Both companies can produce the same palette and sell it at different price points because one brand slapped their name brand on it. I'm going to save my money and get a similar look and put my money somewhere more important like paying off these damn college loans.

      Jay Forsyth um honey, you MIGHT want to do actual research instead of just repeating what you saw on someone else's comment. Hush was created in 2016 and is based in Los Angeles. child labor where ??😂

    • @jayweezy7175
      @jayweezy7175 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hush is a COMPANY, not a brand. they sell OTHER brands, that are manufactured in different countries. and you people are forgetting literally the most important part of what I've repeated multiple times: it's cheap because of the UNSAFE INGREDIENTS.

    • @lolhaha9041
      @lolhaha9041 6 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Jay Forsyth you're right, let me rephrase- Bad Habit, the actual makeup producers, are based in los angeles. they pass the same inspection as sephora and ulta makeup. it costs less because it doesn't have a high end brand name slapped on the package. where are you getting your information? im assuming other people's comments because you've done no research. yes there is unsafe makeup. in THIS situation, however, it's safe as ever and you're really just talking out your ass.

    I agree that the company has spent years creating an eyeshadow palette or highlighting palette and it is quite annoying how other companies are copying the design and shades however some people can't afford the higher price and it's nice to own something that's like it for cheaper, especially if you are young and your parents can't afford a £45 eyeshadow palette or just can't bring yourself to spend money you have worked really hard to get as you have other priorities ❤️ no hate at all! Love you Manny❤️❤️

    • @letlive22692
      @letlive22692 6 ปีที่แล้ว +53

      I agree! Alot of people don't have that type of money to just blow on makeup like that. These companies need to make their products a little more affordable. If these knock-off brands are making the EXACT makeup for 1/4 of the price then I feel like we as the consumer is getting ripped off by these big makeup brands.

      You're paying for the name when you throw that much money at make up products. Most 'high end' brands use cheap formulations and packaging and expect you to pay for the name brand. They spend much of their profits paying influencers and promoting their name.

      Maribel Lira I agree. I just bought the tarte shape tape concealer because everyone was saying it’s the best concealer in the entire world. I compared it with my current favorite the maybelline fit me concealer, and I barely see a difference! Actually I think the maybelline one blends better and covers a little more. To not get biased results, I asked my mom and sister twice which side they thought looked better and every time they picked maybelline. I’m returning shape tape and buying more of my maybelline one🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @maribellira566
      @maribellira566 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      HeyyitzAlyssa Yass! I bought ShapeTape too and seriously the Colourpop concealer was wayyyy better. I see what Manny tried to say about “dupes and copycat” products but damn like who has money to buy $40 palettes every single time?! NOTHING is original in the makeup world 🙄

    • @HeyyitzAlyssa
      @HeyyitzAlyssa 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Maribel Lira I want to try the colourpop concealer but I don’t know my shade and since there are no returns, it’s too hard for me to try it :/ if they sell it in stores eventually I would love to try it. Also someone in the comments had a really good point. They were saying they see these dupes as the equivalent to a store brand. I’m sure most of us have bought target branded tissues as opposed to kleenex, equate body wash instead of dove body wash, etc. why is it not considered bad to buy store brands when they are clearly dupes, but it is considered bad to buy makeup dupes?🤔

    • @maribellira566
      @maribellira566 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      HeyyitzAlyssa agreed! In the end it’s all about these big brands being insulted that they aren’t making all the money. Point blank. It’s all about the money. I own some $40 palettes not gonna lie but I’ve also found other brands and dupes that just work better and bonus they were cheaper! 💁🏻‍♀️

      Update: I’ve been wearing the Athena palette over and over for weeks and every time I wear the purple or the dark red shade my eyes water incessantly all night. The other night it was so bad, my look kind of fell apart on one side. When i wear the lighter shades, everything is perfect. I don’t have a history of having eye sensitivity. I still like the palette. Just a word of caution.

      It's about creativity! The dupe one didn't spend the time coming up with the colors, formula style or esthetic. I don't buy palettes, I prefer individual eye shadows anyhow but a pallette style is an intellectual property since it is a few formulas and colors put in one.

    Hush isn’t “counterfeit” China made makeup. It’s actually made in the US I think. And it’s cruelty free. I still think it’s pretty fucked that they rip off brands that that work hard to create their products but I just thought I would clarify that part. So if you’re going to buy knock offs at least there’s a place you can safely buy them instead of sketchy sites. I won’t lie, I bought the dupe for the Huda desert dusk palette because I don’t like her eyeshadow formula but I wanted something with similar colors. And it’s mind blowing good quality. The dupe that is. So I’m tied lol

      Not really. Rip off would be a brand stealing the same name of eyeshadows & brand name. If hush is making palettes with same colors & different names & a different brand then it’s not a rip off. & sorry some pple don’t get pr nor as much money that he has to only buy brand names products so you best believe my cheap ass is gonna buy dupes bc that’s what hush is doing not rip offs

    • @nicolegauthierx
      @nicolegauthierx 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Alexsandra Noelle idk i personally disagree. in my opinion if they intended to copy these brands, even if they changed the name, they’re still ripping off the hard part which is making the actual shades themselves and deciding which should go in the palettes together, all they’re doing that’s original is naming them and pretty sure one of these actually did use the exact same names if i remember correctly. but no shame in buying dupes or even rip offs, gotta look boujee even on a budget

      Cause they’re trying to cash in on what many consumers are shifting to; even though they don’t like it. They just know it’s what’s trending at the moment, and gotta make that coin🤷🏽‍♀️
      I prefer open views on these type of reviews, but that’s just my opinion.

      Makeup revolution copies other brands?

      Destiny L yes, just compare some of their products to Too Faced. Although, it’s kind of funny that Too Faced copied the melted gold design on their latest chocolate bar from them 😂

    They’re not rip offs lol, the formulas etc are not the same. Even if the shades are similar, a lot of different brands have the same exact shades. Does it mean they’re copying each other? No. They can easily make similar shades without trying to copy each other. Rip off makeup is what you get in LA in the street stores that CLAIM they’re the real thing & have the same packaging/ names and everything yet turn out to be trash makeup & definitely not the real thing. Palettes you see on hush aren’t rip offs because they’re not claiming they’re whatever theyre similar looking to.

      emma do they really have to claim. We can all see they're trying to dupe high end brands.

      literally the tarte rip off had the same exact names and claimed to be amazonian clay... they are absolutely 100% ripoffs

      They ARE rip offs though. If you show someone one of these "off brand" palettes and the person can pinpoint the exact high end version? That isn't just "a lot of different brands have the same shades" it is on purpose and isn't an accident. On Hush there's a Venus palette "dupe" and it's 100% the exact same aside from the packaging
