This weekend we continue our Operation Barbarossa campaign on the Eastern front Ostfrobt, with the Soviet army in disarray and preparing to fall back to the river Don… the German army, hot on their heels are pushing forwardto take advantage ofthe uncertainty if the Russians to struke a blow and secure the road to the river Don, and the big prize of Stalingrad.
A fun, action packed battle set on the steppes of Russia, but who will win, watch and see how this battle unfolds…

@@theministryofminiatures I enjoy all your reports, but this Barbarossa series is the icing on the cake. What they do show is that inexperienced troops may be cheap, but they are no match when up against veterans….well, that and rolling all those “1s” 😂

The armoured car model is an SkdFz-231 (8-Rad). I love the radio truck and a very nice paint job on it too! Any game with Pz 38(t) light tanks is immediately a winner with me. Well done!
Was the Pz III armed with a 3.7 cm/L46 gun or a 5.0 cm/L42 gun? If the former why didn't the Soviets lead with their tanks which should have been all but invulnerable to 3.7 cm weapon's?

Yes the 8 Rad I believe I called a 222 at one point, but that was just a slip as I wasn’t concentrating on the vehicle… trying to film and work out the next move sometimes gets tricky!
I too was surprised that Michael didn’t push forward with his tanks, they could’ve picked off mine if a little closer… but I think he was worried about loosing them, which helped me!

Good battle report guys, well done. Getting back into BA from a very long hiatus. Was wondering what do you think of the new Mounted MMG rules where the amount of shots are halved?

I understand why they did it… those daka tanks were a pain… but I kinda liked the tank and armoured cars being viable with machine guns.
Once we get a few games in with v3 I will probably have a more accurate idea of how they work… but for now, we will see.
