    I am right now in Royalton splash cancun and I saw 2 old gardeners beside our Diamond club pool cutting the grass in hot weather by covering their head with their t shirts it touched my heart and I tipped each 10$. Just want to say there some hard working guys at the resorts that don’t get tips like gardeners maintenance guys dishwashers please don’t forget about them. God Bless You!

    Give and you shall be given! Generosity goes a long way sometimes, and tipping a buttler at least 10$ per day is very reasonable ! Thank you for explaining the difference between a buttler and a concierge 😊

    Great job! Loved your viedo. We travel on the same level as you in this viedo, and I've always wondered if I tip well or not. I usually tip my pool guys, bar tenders, restaurant wait staff, and room service staff etc as they provide services throughout my stay. I take a variety of cash just for this reason. I also start my favorite swim up bartenders off with $20 bill to start each day. This keeps me for having to get money out in the pool, and they always remember me well when needing drinks. Like you said, it's NOT to gain better service, but the old saying you get what you pay for and these wonderful hardworking people rely on tips as the majority of their family income. As for Butler service, we always have someone who does basically everything we need, continues to check on us throughout the day, and schedules every meal, activities, transportation, etc. I usually tip Butler at the end of the week, and depending on their service level (which I usually request the same ones) so I tip an average of $50 a day. I feel $20 - $30 a day is very generous, but we have some outstanding regular butlers that will bring us things from Walmart if I need them. Again, you get what you pay for, and if affordable, I suggest tip well because you basically buying your family extra vacation time by cutting out all the extra work & planning time. Just my opinion! Thank you for the video, I always wondered where people stand on this topic. Safe travels. Cheers

      And lastly we do love to tip the extremely hardworking maid services daily, and the hardworking grounds keepers sometimes just in passing when I see them, because these are the people that keep us all a beautiful place and clean rooms to vacation in . Even if it's just a few dollars, it could mean a family meal for these hardworking people. $5 & $20 bills are always great to have at these resort .

    Thanks for this video. We love to tip. I make tip bags with some candy in them along with cash. I have left gifts behind. But I leave a note saying I left this for housekeeping with my name and info on it. So when the worker gets searched they know it was a gift.

    Where ever I go especially mexico/cancun I always tip, because I watch closely as the workers goes above and beyond to help you and to make sure you have what you need, you will never see any of them just standing around shooting the breeze, also when you tip it makes your vacation a hole lot more enjoyable, tipping makes you feel good because you are showing your appreciation for their hard work and it's good for them because you are making them feel that their service is totally worth going above and beyond for you

    Thank you. I feel better now. Just had butler service at Planet Hollywood Cancun. They were very attentive. At the end of our 5 day vacation we gave them each $160 as well as various tips through out the time. I was worried I didn’t give enough. They really were there for any and everything we needed.

    We will be staying at the Iberostar Grand Parisio and are totally hoping for a relaxing luxurious vacation. This will be our first and possibly only vacation trip and is our 30th anniversary. I have a mobility disability and my husband has spine issues. Just really wanna rest and relax, have good food and yummy drinks and be spoiled. Soooooo excited for butler service and hoping it’s worth it.

    Hi, I’ve been watching all your videos and I love watching your reviews you have actually convinced us to go visit Sanctuary Cap Cana. I’m Dominican but haven’t visited my country in over 10 years. I’m taking my wife to celebrate our 29 year anniversary. I just got back from Princess in Cancun and we did not have the best time so I’m hoping Sanctuary can erase that vacation experience. Quick question do you suggest me upgrading my room now or wait until we check in to get a better rate?

    • @3Days3Noches

      Holaaaaa primo! Thank you so much!! If you really want the upgrade I would try doing it before because they sell out! If you are okay either way you can wait until you get there too! I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience in Cancun! I’ve never heard of Princess! I’ll have to ask in our FB group! Sanctuary is amazing!!! Join our group and let us know your experience!!

    Thank you for the video. Can you please tell us about the Visitax cancun. I am leaving July 3rd and most people are mixed about this tax, one travel agent agent told me not to worry. I worried and called again and another agent told me to pay it. So mixed up but do t want to get there and line up for something I can do in Canada.

      We have never paid it but I think it’s only $10 a person right? If it is going to relieve you from stress then I would just pay it. We are going next week and will find out for sure!!

    Maybe Butler Service is different? But I have read on TripAdvisor that at least in Cancun the bartenders and servers have to pool their tips. So they don't go to that person personally. Also many workers are searched upon leaving so one should give a letter when giving a gift? Can you confirm this for Cancun? Is it the same for Punta Cana?

    • @3Days3Noches
      @3Days3Noches ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never heard of that!!

    • @beachbumsailordude

      I went to Jamaica several years ago and at one point I asked one of the servers. She said, "You have to give it to the person who you want to tip." So if you just leave it on the table whoever walks by first will get that money. Wen we went to Punta Cana my friends and I would make sure that the people who served us got it right in their hand and when we got bad service we left little or no tip. Sometimes if you are among the few people tipping the workers put you first and sometimes not.

    Which type of room at sanctuary cap Cana comes with butler service.

  • @beachbumsailordude

    I'm big on tipping when I go to an AI. I've had the butler service twice and frankly I didn't need it. It felt like they just gave me someone to tip all week. I know that some people use the butlers to make their dinner reservations and put their towels on the beach chairs at 5Am (which I loath). If the resort is setup right the butlers aren't necessary. The last resort I went to had a higher tier (diamond club) and those people got to the front of the line and their butlers helped them to do that. I do not believe in multi tiered properties. Everyone should be on an equal playing field. If you want better then step up and go to a higher end property. If you want less then go to a lower end property. I usually bring about $20 a day for tips (I'm going solo). I think that's a reasonable amount for tipping my maid, guy who stocks the mini bar and tipping at meals, bar and people like that woman who keeps the pool restrooms clean. Most people don't tip at all. They just don't get it. The people at the resorts work their A$$es off and they aren't paid very well. Yeah I know that they make more than a lot of people on those islands that don't have that job. So my idea is that if everyone did the right thing and gave a few bucks here and their the workers would make out great and it would be a small additional cost for your vacation. Look you want to be treated well by these people at the resorts. Then treat them well and they will treat you well. Simple dimple!

    • @3Days3Noches
      @3Days3Noches ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I love this thank you! Yes I don’t like the tiers at resorts either. One reason we lived Sanctuary Cap Cana. The only upgrade was rooms that had butler service but it didn’t get you and special treatment around the resort. Just more personalized service. And they had rooms without which we’re still amazing so I don’t think anyone felt like they were treated differently and like you said some people like us really don’t need the butler service so you could get a room without it.
