I think he was definitely pushing too hard. He did back to back tours promoting Heathen and Reality. We forget he was in his mid- late 50s at this time. Plus the 2 to 3 pack a day cigarette habit didn't help; although I know he quit when his daughter was born.
This concert is available on DVD, be sure to the zone ! They are idiots, should not zone concerts but... this is great, watched the concert live in Paris 20 years ago, watched the DVD, it's ok! 👍💖

Just found this during the pandemic of 2020. What a wonderful video! David was just fabulous in this performance. And his dancing onstage during “Fame” was so sexy and adorable! I watch a DB video every day. It always brightens my day!

Genius is an often over used description when describing someone and indeed there is often passionate debate as to what an actual genius is and what you need to do in life with regards to what you achieve to warrant such an accolade. All I know is logic and my heart says David Bowie certainly was one and that my friends is enough for me.

The interviewer made a massive semantics error which made Bowie burst into tears 'how is it possible to be a massive star and relate to the common people". The interviewer meant "mundane" which in French is "commun", but common obviously means working class.
