I would recommend the AMK "Proberaumsessions" rehearsal room sessions. More instruments (violins, horns), great arrangements. "Ich geh heut nicht mehr tanzen" "Ausgehen"

I think they did "Ausgehen" from that session already. But all of them are worth of listening, really!

Hey, not sure, but I guess, this was the "AMK and friends"-concert in the Zitadelle Spandau (Berlin) in 2016. So, one of their first own concerts after the first big hits like this. At this time they just had released their debut album. With "Pocahontas" they started to be popular around the whole country. Before that they were kind of an inside tip.
    Greetings from Berlin 😎

I think this was their biggest hit in Germany to the date. This was from the era when they really started to blow up: their debut album went no 1 in Germany, and this song was definitely the one they were known back then, along with the ballad "Barfuß am Klavier". I think this was in 2017, so an older performance. Their sound has evolved so much after this; you should definitely react to more of them, and more recent stuff. My favorite one atm is a live performance of their single "Ausgehen" from their tour last summer, a huge stadium gig in Cologne. The stage is bigger, the crowd is insane, and they have a whole brass & string section with them. It's amazing, please check it out!!!!
And yes, this is the kind of band that I added to my playlist, and after a while I realized I listen to them ALL THE TIME. It's nuts; they're so good!

Great channel. Suggestion for another song that rocks from this same live concert in Berlin. 'Das Krokodil". One of my favorites and It's amazing. It gives you another look into their early career. Also, 'Du Bist Uberall' from same show is also great!

Hi Chaishai and Ace, the trumpet player you heard in Tom's Diner is Ferdinand Schwarz from Annenmaykantereit. He ist not an "official" band member, but he is one of many talents AMK draws toward themselves like magnets and who often plays with them as a support for many years now, so that he can be considered as kind of an AMK member. If you watch the official video to "Pocahontas" - th-cam.com/video/DraA3PUuoQc/w-d-xo.html - you will see and hear Ferdinand play a little trumpet solo.

Do they bring in various members depending on the song and performance?

@@AceofBadeReacts Basicall, yes. AnnenMayKantereit proper are three schoolmates from Cologne who immediately after graduating from high school (or “Gymnasium” as the “upper” branch of schools are called in Germany) in 2011, started busking as a trio on the streets of Cologne. They are Christopher Annen (guitar, harmonica), Henning May (vocals, piano, melodica, accordion, ukulele, guitar) and Severin Kantereit (drums, cajón). in the beginning they didn't even have a real band name, and when asked how they call themselves, the three would introduce themselves with their proper names Annen, May, Kantereit, and under this name soon became local “celebrities”. This is how the band name came about, which is difficult to remember but then never forgotten.
Then they had various bass players who were considered regular members of the band, but didn’t make it in the name: from 2012 to 2014 Lars Lötgering and from 2014 to 2020 Malte Huck. Since 2022 female bass player Sophie Chassée supports them live and in some recordings.
Since 2014 jazz trumpet player Ferdinand Schwarz - who attended the same school as A, M, and K, but is a few years younger than them - regularly plays with them. He is not an “official” band member, but his horn playing is a distinctive feature of many AMK recordings and performances and he often accompanies them at their concerts and tours.
They also had a group of young female support musicians who accompanied them at their last tours and concerts and who are also prominent in the “Proberaum sessions” (sessions recorded in their rehearsal room in Cologne).
Then there is a big entourage of friends and collaborators who tour and work with them on a regular basis for years now. Among them photographer Martin Lamberty, who also made most of the videos with which they became famous in Germany through youtube, so that they played sold-out concerts, even before they had any album out. Lamberty’s beautiful video to the AMK-song “Barfuß am Klavier” won the German Web Video Award as best music video in 2015.
Also, at the beginning of their career, they used to do videos together with other bands they were touring with at the time - usually shot by Martin Lamberty and/or Lenny Rothenberg (another friend and regular collaborator). So a number of cover songs was recorded:
2015 Roxanne (original: Police) together with Milky Chance from Kassel, Germany
2017 Du hast den Farbfilm vergessen (original: Nina Hagen) together with Die Höchste Eisenbahn from Berlin
2019 Tom’s Diner (original: Suzanne Vega) together with Giant Rooks from Hamm, Germany.
2019 Can’t Get You Out of my Head (original: Kylie Minogue) together with Parcels from Byron Bay, Australia/Berlin
2019 Bang Bang (original: Sonny Bono) together with Amilli from Bochum, Germany
