Poor John! I had the same symptoms from my umbilical hernia. My intestine was breaching my lining forming a bump but I didn't know it was happening because the pain was so intense which would be 10+(scale) down to 3 or 4, and then back upto 10+, over and over! And wouldn't stop. Called the wife from work. Got to ER and exam room over the phone with dr who asked if there was a bump. And there was and he told me, despite how painful, push on it. I grimmest while pressing on it and pressed O.! It disappeared and immediate relief ensued. I've since had it fixed with a couple sutures but f'n work was calling and blew them out in no time. And now I have to poke at it once in awhile after eating a large meal or straining from lifting, etc. Not ideal. I hope you've recovered, John! I hate when you guys are suffering from illness all though it does make for good content.
