One thing for sure and two for certain it works like new and did not even take ten minutes for me maybe cause I enjoy fixing things when I know it still works. Thank You for sharing from Harrisburg Pennsylvania 💌🤗❤️✌️ and 🙏❣️
I have a fan that powered on but no movement. I found your video on TH-cam and figured it was worth s shot. I followed your steps and BAM! The fan works great now. You saved me 40-50 bucks! Great video and instructions. Thanks a lot. I am now a "fan" of yours. 😁
You've saved my family $40. .My wife had planned to purchase a new fan the next day. I quickly visited TH-cam, and boom your video was the first. Quick DIY helped me repair 1 standing fan. Thanks
quick tip. before you take apart the motor casing, use a sharpie to draw a line down the side touching every part of the case. That way you can easily see how the pieces fit back together. Great vid!
I oiled my fans a few days ago, just noticed this video today. Thankfully, my fans (two different brands) had fewer screws and I was also able to access the two ends of the shafts without taking the motors apart. Not a difficult task, but perhaps a bit of a chore to fit the pieces back together. My suggestion to anyone afraid of taking their fan apart is to take a video of the process. If you can't put it back together, just refer to your video to see where your pieces should be.
Dear Vins & Annette, My stand fan stopped after 1 year of use, watched you video, it helped. At 1:37, I was unable to open the fan motor cover after many tries despite four front screws removed, this Aerogaz brand stand fan has no screw at the back of the cover. Initially I used WD40, it did not help, then I dripped Singer Oil from outside into the rotating rod (without removing the motor cover). Waited for a few minutes for the oil to settle in. Then, I manually used my fingers to turn the rotating rod, at first it was very stiff, slowly it can spin smoothly. Re-installed all external parts removed. Plugged it, power on, it worked ! Many thanks. CKL 13/07/2023 Thu 1008 Singapore
Checking for a WD40 comment.. thanks! My fan has been sitting in the hallway on its way out for weeks.. couldn't shake the feeling it just needs some tlc. This is the next best thing to being able to ask my Dad what to do. Thanks for sharing this info step by step. And to all the Men helping us learn what we need to know to help ourselves. We're bridging the gap here big time. 🥹 ❤, GenX
This is a very clear and concise video. My 15+ year old fan was not spinning and I followed your step by step instructions. Only difference in my case was that the pin didn't come out that easily, I had to knock on it and use pliers to yank it out. I also substituted oil for wd40 as this is all I had on hand. Honestly my fan now spins faster and makes more wind than before! As good as new! Thank you so much for this video. Liked, subscribed and shared.
My daughters bedroom fan stopped spinning recently so naturally I turned to TH-cam for an answer. This video gave me the confidence to open it up and have a look. I cleaned and oiled just like you did, and voila! It works better than new! Thanks man!
Sir you are the best, for days now my fan stopped working and we have not heard a good sleep but you through you now I just replied it. More grace and I thank God for making me to understand without mistake. Thank you Sir
the fan i'm using in my room has stopped spinning and my mom said we should throw it away. it is still in good condition and it would be a waste to throw it so i came here looking for solutions. will definitely try and do this one. thank you for the clear and step by step instructions!
Was about to throw my fan out when I decided to check if there wasn't a fix online and yep, some lubricant and a good clean and it's as good as new. Thanks for saving me some dosh y'all.
Just now , my fan cannot move and feels so heavy to rotate , then i youtube and your video was found first , i follow all the step you provided and now my fansl can operate like usual , thank you my brother ! You are my saviour ❤
Thank you! This video helped me while there was a massive heat wave in my city and my fan stopped working. Had to watch it at x1.5 speed to fix this thing as fast as possible.
Thanks and blessings to you bro. I looked at this video lastnight and was able to repair my fan with your instructions. You have a good heart to share these edifying videos. Greetings from Trinidad & Tobago
I'm glad I came across your video. I had a 3 yr old pedestal fan that wasn't spinning and I was planning on throwing it out. I watched the vid and followed your instructions and I got the thing cleaned up and running in less than an hour. Good stuff!
I had a very similar fan. It had the exact same motor, but also a reciprocating mechanism that had to be detached before opening the motor. Your video was immensely helpful in getting it working. The cups around the bearings were filled with some kind of weird oily crud. I think there must have been a felt washer in there.
I am a big fan! Thank you so much! I now learned how I could start rotating again like my siblings. But the surgery was a bit painful to do myself, especially without sedation!
Just did exactly the same and worked otherwise we would've slept on 33 degrees 😂 , thank you so much for this helpful video , now i know what to do when it doesn't turn ❤
Thank you very much. I have this retro-style electric fan that suddenly stopped spinning. I thought the motor had burned out because I use to turn it on and forget about it, sometimes for days and days. This is not a cheap fan so I really wanted to fix it. I called the manufacturer, but they said they no longer service those fans. I then called a local elecrician who said it would cost $85 just to look at it. Strike two ! Actually I bought two of these fans back in 2010 so they matched perfecty in my living room on top of my stereo speakers . Buying a replacement would not be easy. I looked online, but could not find an exact match. Even if I had found a replacement there were other things that were higher on the priority scale. Finally I decided to Google it. Not sure why I hadn't though of that before but my mind was set that I had blown the motor ? I followed the instructions step by step as best as I could, making sure not to get the screws mixed up. It only took me about an hour to take it apart and put it back together again. After all the work was done, I turned the fan on with my fingers crossed. I did not want to burn the house down. To my surprise, everything worked perfectly ! The fan is even more wisper-quiet than it was before. What I should have done was clean it up a little before putting it together. So I might have to do that. Thanks a lot for this video !
Wow, thank u poh taLaga sa video na gumana na yong eLectric fan namin.. d na kme bibili nang bago kasi gumana na. Dati ang number 3 lng ang gumana ngayon pati number 1 and 2 ok na ang ikot nya.. nilagyan ko lng nang baby oil yon lang ang available kasi..thank you
Thanks very much sir...my been stuck for almost years and we currently suffering from the heat wave in South Africa 🇿🇦 so im glad your video helped me out,it spinning now.i near threw it away, but i guess a little lubricatation helped out.❤😊
Thank you. I have the Honeywell Pedestal Fan and it looks like you have to break the plastic to get easy access to the motor, but once I got close enough to it, I added a few drops of oil which was enough to loosen the friction from the dust and get it moving again. Saved from the trash!
well all I can say is those 68 that did the thumbs down??? Their fan was just done is all........this didn't help my stand up fan but........a metal floor fan I paid quite a bit for???? different story, I couldnt get the face off so I sprayed lubricant real slow where it rolled down to get all the rusted areas and low and behold.......wa la !! I know this fan has been on my back porch for nearly a year, out of any kind of rain.........and its work'n like a dream.........thank you Vin
Thank you for posting this video. Still working on my fan.but meanwhile gaining confidence while watching each step of the, I have not this done this before and no nothing . However, going thru each step, I gained a lot of confidence and learned about parts the of a fan. This is an excellent video for DIY people. Thank you 😊
Omg I just fixed my fan! 3 seconds from being put in the garbage! Thank you! It sounded like the motor because it wouldn't spin but I figured 'give it a shot' before tossing it and it worked!
Can you tell me which oil you used for the fan? Bcz my fan always spins late even when I am using the pen. But now, it's not working totally. First, it sounded like a creech then it stopped Fully 😢... I want to try this method
Great video with superb production values. Well done! The only change I would make is to have as the first instruction, unplug fan from electrical outlet. 😂🔧👍
Bro thank you very much for this... I used to just spray the bolt part with a spray lubrificant... but after 4 years the motor just stopped.... it got current in in but the blades wont move.... So I did this... I removed everything like you've showed and oh boy... the bearings were stuck with gunk from over the years... so I picked a small file and cleaned the bearings... sprayed them with graphite, lube them up good with vasseline... and now guess what... Is works like new... no noise, no heating of the motor.... So fking great man... Feels so good to fix stuff :) Thanks!
Good job! It's always nice to have a hubby or somebody in the family who knows how to fix things, like #20, and thank you for sharing your talent in making "broken" things fixed! Stay safe and have a great day.
So cool to watch, so frustrating to do. The blade assembly part of my fan seems to be stuck on the rotating axis. As it's made of soft plastic I'm afraid to apply too much pressure and break it. I used a ton of WD-40, without success. I'm letting it soak in it for the night, we'll see tomorrow. 😞
@@VinsAnnetteSingh I did it! I was able to unstuck the rotating blades from the axis! 🥳🤩 I also cleaned all the parts of my fan, added oil where needed and... it still does not work. 😔😭 I now think it might be the capacitor. 🤦🏻♂️😔
Crazy how people throw away things that just need a little TLC and maybe a bit of oil. ; ) Thanks for the vid, I just got a brand new fan from the curb.
Had to throw a nice standing fan that stopped spinning during the night, but with the power still on, and now the shaft is just impossible to turn. Guess the motor or bearings got burned out, since it had been turning slow when starting it for a while, but now it decided to die, it has power but the shaft is seized solid
F*ckin LEGEND!!! That worked perfectly Runs like brand new again. I hadn't even realized how slow it had become on the highest setting. Now it's just a hurricane!!!!
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately this video gonna be useful for those who purchased entry level fans that tend to fail a year or two after purchase. Had a Morries and Mistral, where the fans just stopped working as early as 6mnths in, which is ridiculous. Been using Mitsu or KDK/Panasonic to save all of these hassle but then again, I may pick up an affordable, whack it and see if I can do this when it fails one day soon.
welcome and thanks for giving it a try and thanks for watching...........Great and happy to help 😊 Pls subscribe for more related videos and updates on upcoming videos. Thank you
Just about to try and fix my fan, wish me luck I will let you know how it goes lol x So just followed this video and my fan is working again, I'm so glad I managed to do it as we are about to have a heatwave with a serious weather warning.
Fingers crossed!
