Oh my ... It's like finding gold watching this video. There are so many problems that I have a hard time finding solution anywhere on Internet -then this video suddenly pop out on the TH-cam suggestion. You just gained a new subscriber, thank you so much!
Your video of showing how to do the finger position on different position on viewing is great. This will help me even more. I think you have been the only one to show this on different views. Thank you so much
If I had not seen this video, I would be in dark forever !! Such fine points, guess, not students but violin teachers should watch this and pass it on to their students !! Thanks for amazing tutoring….
Thank you for today's lesson, dear Sister. I am not a violinist, but I do love to hear. My daughter, besides piano, is learning to play violin. She will be glad to watch this. I will be back for full support in a few days ahead. God bless you, dear Sister. Greeting from Jakarta, Wiseman.
Not really - it's more the thumb. The base of the index finger makes contact with the neck, and is generally higher than contact of the thumb with the neck.

Do we hold violin up with last joint of index finger?
Not really - it's more the thumb. The base of the index finger makes contact with the neck, and is generally higher than contact of the thumb with the neck.

Why did I start so late. Hard for me at the age of 76😢
Violin is a challenging instrument! I am very inspired by how many people, including yourself, took it up in their 60s, 70s, etc...!! Never too late!
I did not know you were never supposed to use the finger nail sometimes my finger lands up that way
