    I used to work for IJ Company years ago delivering to Wendy’s restaurants. Depending on traffic on the mountain, wed sometimes take the back way between our Lafollette and Jellico stores. That ride twasnt always fun, especially in the winter. We’d also deliver to some Habitat For Humanity sites out there off of exit 141 and south on 27. We’d joke about having to have sunlight pumped in.

    Hi Tim enjoyed your video! I prepare invoices for payment at work and deal with several trucking invoices weekly. Make sure you have all the important information on your invoices to "CYA" in case of disputes. A little FYI on what some of the trucking companies have on their invoices.
    On the top third of the invoice you should have your company name with address and contact info (at least a phone number) , your invoice number, invoice date, bill of lading number (if you have one), payment terms such as 10-15-20-30 days payment ( most that I deal with are in the 10-15 day payment range)and most importantly your remit to address where you want the payment to go to with it specified "Remit to:" on the left side right before your company name.
    In the body of your invoice it is a good idea to specify where and from whom you pick the load up along with the date, some also do the time and what you picked up. Example: furniture, groceries, ex number of pallets etc.
    You will also need your destination to whom, where (Joe's Surf Shop Chattanooga TN), when and if possible who signed for it. And of course your miles driven and price for the load and any fuel surcharges that may be applicable. It's extremely important to document in case of damage or missing items.
    If you are going to accept payment via credit cards, just about all companies are requesting a "courtesy fee" of anywhere from 2%-4% extra for accepting credit cards. That's to offset what the bank will charge you. Make sure you do the math for what percent you are going to accept and put that price next to the notice. This is usually found at the lower left-hand corner of the invoice but I'm sure it can go anywhere.
    Some companies use the standard Excel worksheet invoices and some are pretty elaborate with full color and pictures of their truck, waste of money in my opinion. I hope this helps you and if you know all of this already please just disregard. Keep it safe and looking forward to your next video.

    Tim,
    Hey brother, regarding that direct customer. Here’s my “sales mgr” advice;
    Once a week CALL them, call every week at the same time (literally the same exact time) and the same day.
    You’ll stay fresh in their mind & eventually you’ll get their business. You never know what it could turn into. Maybe nothing, however I’m sure they know many other people as well.
    If nothing else, they will refer your business to their friends etc...
    You’ll do great Tim, your motivated and very professional.

    Thanks for sharing Tim, fun drive! Good chatter. Did you use a different camera for this than normal? The compression is huge when you have tree's on both sides of you it's clear to see the image isn't sharp at all, honestly quite surprising which is why I ask if it's a different camera. If you look at 31:16 and pause it at any point in that section it looks like your driving through heavy mist! Maybe movavi did too much compression?

    • @LifeisGood2018
      @LifeisGood2018  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      gt3911 I figured out how to upload it so it will play in 1080, same camera, but it was one ugly misty rainy day that day, I looked at the 31 mark and seen my clip transition, but impressive that you made it that far, congratulations you are one of the few who watch it all.

    • @gt3911
      @gt3911 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting! Always watch from start to finish. Love your uploads! Just incase our wires are crossed, I didn't mean the exact moment you did a clip transition, before and after the quality was very heavily compressed, lots of blurring and fuzzyness on the trees. I'd still watch them at 480p, was just curious :) looking forward to the next one. Stay safe boss

    Tim, when are you going to get out here to AZ? :-) Up at my house in Flagstaff this weekend, finally a bit of snow and the boy wants to go skiing, so headed to the mountain today. They do make snow now out of poop water, but it is not quite the same as the real stuff. Good scenery, I've only been through a part of TN, and that was almost 20 years ago. What are you using for a mic? Assuming it is plugged into a GoPro? Peace!

    • @KB-gs8zi

      Sir Tim !! When you drop your trailer,,,do you dump the air ride on the Pete b/4 you pull out from under the trailer ??? That helps to keep the grease where it needs to be !!! Also,, when you back under to do p/u of trailer the grease won't be on the front of the trailer instead of on the 5th wheel !! KEEP IT SAFE !!

      Jay Cole17 what drama? Luckily I mostly watch sailing ⛵️ videos and I don’t know any of the other trucking video guys personally, but I’m not into the drama stuff.

      Life is Good. Been doing some research on landstar. Do they have an option on just doing drop and hooks? Looking to start my own thing hopefully by the end of this year. Thanks for the input.

    What do people do for a living there? Surprised at the number of houses seemingly in the middle of nowhere... At least they have churches handy. ;-)

      Don Leamon mostly retired I think, I remember years ago, a report came out about property rates versus income, it was way out of balance, it’s because of the retirees that moved into the mountains and in the winter they become snow birds

    you should be looking for shippers that need a permanent contractor.
    dedicated accounts.
    someone to get you out.
    and someone to get you back again. you can tender for you're own work. if you got another trailer they could even pre-load you.

      StarScream666 gives me the control to haul for anyone and everyone and keep all of the money in my own pocket and not have to pay them for the privilege of running under their name.

      Peggy Lewis this is always nice, when I’m at home, I stay off of the interstate, after running them for 2.5 million miles, you enjoy stuff such as this.
