Questions.. Im just a beginner to this game. I tried to fight it on my first encounter with it, and my blade can't penetrate his thick skin like it only sliced through once out of 7 slahes. So what factor makes a blade penetrate it's skin? And 2nd question, why with all the other videos that ive watched they are not bringing companions like cats for example? Is it to show off? Or is there a better reason behind it?
Sharpness. Green sharpness for body also the tail is pretty hard, needs blue sharpness or higher. Cats take the monster's attention away, not good for speedrunning. See that knife under his stamina bar? It glows whatever sharpness the weapon has. His glows white, which is the highest in the game. Idk if you can get purple sharpness through skills since the weapons don't have natural purple in this one. Even the Narga weapons don't unlike in MHFU.

It's not fair,you use HR6 wepon and armor set,you should use HR5 set
