    Awesome video! I was just wondering where and how do you tie up your sway bar? I have a set of jspec quicker disconnects and I never know what to do with my sway bar once I have my links removed.

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      So a lot of them come with straps that are made to hold them up. I usually just tie them up around the front body mount with some thin string. Either just tie them up or see if you can buy the straps like they sell with the Rock Krawler disconnect kit

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will add. I wouldn’t recommend just putting a sticker over it. You really want to disable it so the plug doesn’t have power. Otherwise it can get wet and fry your wire harness, which can lead to other issues. Most programmers are about 200$, but the app video I posted set you up for around 40-50$, plus you can use it for other features as well. Just something to think about

    Cool vids! Run Antirocks on my 2dr that I got from Eric at Offroad Elements. Offroad they are awesome. Actually prefer them over completely disconnected as I think you have a little more control off camber. You don't just flop over. If I was only worried about an RTI ramp score and not actual performance then disconnected it would be!

    Great video Ben. I still haven't got caught up on all your "older" videos so this was a nice recap on sway bars. I actually own a Rubicon and experienced the flashing light. Wouldn't lock back up! So I ordered the Evo no limits, but while I was waiting for it to arrive I still needed my daily driver so I tore apart both ends of the smart bar and was able to clean out, lube and attempt at sealing it up better than factory. So I haven't done the Evo install I just yet, so I keep it in the Jeep. I haven't had any issues with it so far, but Evo stil ready to go. Do you ever unhook your rear while off-road?

    • @JKGearandGadgets

      You shouldn’t have any issues, however the first time you disconnect and flex it, hop out and take a look around at everything to make sure it’s good to go

    Thank you for this. I'm learning a lot from your channel. I'm considering doing a JK themed channel as well for newbies like myself that just jumped in to off roading for the first time.
    Driving a '18 JK with a 6"lift, fox shocks and duratrak 33s. Most of the rest is stock, for now. Wont be for much longer.

      I'm doing kind of the same as well on my channel. Biggest thing is to just start doing it. Grab a decent camera or camera phone and start recording. Have you been doing any videos yet?

    • @aaronamerica968
      @aaronamerica968 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@4WDTrek I picked up a gopro7 a couple months back, but still have yet to figure out how to utilise it. I'm going to work on writing out ideas in a binder and probably begin filming in the spring. I'm in northern canada, so winter has set in. I take a few months off every spring and work my butt off the rest of the year, so that'll be when I put it to work and see what I come up with.

    one thing i keep seeing that is being left out is what to do with the electrical connection after removing the sway bar motor. cut wires and heat shrink over them to prevent water from getting on it? what precautions are being used to keep the PCM from frying with a now open connection while fording 20"-30" of water?

    • @JKGearandGadgets
      @JKGearandGadgets  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turn the system off with an aftermarket programmer. There will be no power to that harness

    • @fixmeuphandyman
      @fixmeuphandyman 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ok great. I have the JSCAN tool for my 2012 Rubicon iCAR pro Bluetooth module. I believe you did a video on this. Is that that same one you used for this feature? I just never heard anything about power being cut from it once you disabled the light.

    • @4WDTrek
      @4WDTrek 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Negative, but I think Team tech Offroad sells some OEM ones. They are quiet pricey. I also thought G2 was releasing an air activated full sway bar system but never saw it hit the market
