Ive been to visayas and Mindanao and the taxi drivers are kind and polite.

This is not an isolated case. Last March, my wife and I landed in Terminal 2. We got a taxi too. To our surprise he will not be using his meter and showed us a different fare meter which was way too much! We honestly told the driver that we will not pay that much. He nicely dropped us off after we got out of the terminal entrance.
If the government can do it to this man, I guess it has to be done across the board. The law should be imposed to all transportation provider fairly.

The taxi driver is a disgrace to all Filipinos. Good thing they manage to catch up and suspend his license.
I think the reason why so many taxi driver abuses have not been reported, is because the victims never had the chance to do video recording of the events to back up their accusation.
So moral of the story, when you are about to ride a taxi, start video recording immediately for the entire duration of your trip. If the trip was uneventful, just delete the video afterwards to recover the memory space.

Isa ako sa subscriber ng Making It Happen napakalaki ng pagmamahal nila sa Pinas if naka subscribe kayu sa channel nila pinopromote nila ang Pinas at ngayun naghahanap na sila ng apartment para tumira na sila dito.
If u travel to other countries (i.e. Japan, Singapore, Korea, HK, Dubai, etc.) walang ganito case dahil automatic meter ang taxi fares. Plus, the drivers are very polite.
Our country is very beautiful and we Filipinos are known worldwide for being warm and hospitable, sana maipag patuloy natin un.. Great country + Great people = success.
Stay away from Philippine Taxi, get Grab instead.
On the original video someone posted he had a problem with grab where the driver cheated him.
They were running late and there was no grab available near the airport at the time because it was peak hours. They decided to gamble on it, and oh well ,they hit the jackpot. They've always used grab before.

Same experience po kami ng vlogger na nagpapadagdag ung grab taxi driver na nasakyan namin nagpahatid kmi sa angono rizal from naia terminal 3 around 1:30 am, ang katwiran ng driver out of town na raw un. Pero ang estimated fare lan ni grab ay 540 to 652, pero sinisingil kami ng 700. Kasi out of town naraw, hindi na kmi nakipagtalo kasi bka kung san lan kmi ibaba sa c6 paman din kami dumaan, at buntis pa ang asawa ko kaya hinayaan konalan. Pagkahatid samin binayaran ko ung driver ng 700. Kasi ayoko na makipagtalo kasi ung asawa ko nagsusuka na sa byahe at pagod narin, so mas importante sakin ung asawa ko kesa makipagtalo. Ang sakin lan sana matigil na ung ganyan over maningil ang ilang mga taxi driver at grab taxi.

We Experienced that before . Taxi Driver charge us 2k from NAIA to Marikina.
Im from Marikina, and 2k is way too high! On non peak hours, the meter will only charge you for around 300php. Even if you book a grab taxi on peak hours, the most you can pay is 1k (including tip) 😢😢😢
Just use grab. Way much safer

@Jong Maliwat you forgot about the bullet scam. That was worse. People were put in jail for a bullet in their luggage that they never put there. And the last president of the Philippines could have acted sooner but many tourists canceled reservations that affected the tourism industry.

Mike was trying to be relax as much as possible not to escalate the tension. but that driver is so annoying because of very small amount he will lost his job and potentially the license of his operator to get passengers in NAIA.
Napapanood ko yan sila sa TH-cam at maganda lahat ang paglalarawan nila sa Pilipinas. Ang mga ganitong klaseng tao na nagdadamay sa ating lahat na nagbibigay ng Hindi magandang impression sa ating bansa at tama lang na maparusahan.Gumagasto ng malaki ang dept.of Tourism para makaakit ng turista ang ating banda pero masisira lang na mga taong ganito. Kaya talo ang Pilipinas ng Malaysia kung sa padamihan ng turista.
Reviews of scams like this and others in the PH is known online for past tourists. That said, potential tourists who read on these reviews can deter them from spending their money here in the PH. Vacationers would prefer a non BS vacation. This type scam has been here for years. Costing the PH tourism industry millions (USD, CAD, EURO) of dollars year after year.
This makes it more interesting for me because I watch these guys.

This happened to me year 2014 when my dad and I went back to PH. I asked the driver to use the meter and he agreed but when we are far from the airport he asked to be paid 3k because that's what was written on a piece of paper which he refers to as fare rate. We argued inside the taxi but he threatened us that he'll throw us a bottle of acid. So we have no choice but to just give him what he asked for.
Sad.
To Michael and Nelly.. i am sorry for the behavior that you experience with our country men, we also Filipinos had this kind of scam specially when we are coming home in Philippines from abroad!
In the Philippines, I want everybody to ban most (if not all) taxis and taxi drivers for overcharging and scamming other unwary foreign visitors.
And also, all others countries must post more and more advisories about Philippine taxis because this issue has been going on for so many years! It's taking forever to resolve it! What a shame!
