Good evening Christine you won't have to wait long to see the spuds in the buckets because there starting to push through. I will be getting the rest of my compost has soon as the tomatoes are finished in the middle greenhouse, I've all ready told Jim the shop keeper to make sure there's 15 more bags left for me...The good news is we still have two pallets full of the clover in the shop...
Good evening Jim....Something most be in the soil because i noticed today there already starting to push through the top of the bucket, But its still early doors, I will need to get them into the front greenhouse before the colder weather...
@@AllotmentDiggers As you know you need light and warmth among other things to pull this off and we're starting to lose both at a great rate of knots. There will no doubt be a few potato reveals as we get closer to Christmas and I look forward to them all. Will be looking out for yours so 'no pressure' (just joking) Jim.
Hi Mark, It will be interesting to see the results of your Christmas spuds using your chicken manure & used compost. I've stopped buying peat compost as it's getting stupid expensive near me, so I'm mixing well rotted horse manure & other nutrients in with my used compost & storing it in some wheelie bins I salvaged from a skip until next season.
You won't have to wait to long to see the spuds because there starting to push through, I'm hoping we get a drop of horse manure shortly that will be going aroun all my fruit bushes...

Surely it would have been easier and quicker to mix compost and manure in wheelbarrow before filling potato buckets!
Good evening Anthony I like to make things harder for my self. I was checking on the spuds today and one bucket is already showing...
