Yeah, I got heavy into gold about a year ago. Bought a cheap wooden coin box with slots for coins and decided to fill it. It was hell, but I stacked 15 oz in that year. Finished my stack just before the whole coronavirus thing broke out. For the last year I checked my little box almost every day and would think about how I don't have enough before falling asleep. Once I got the last coin into the box a month ago and 15 came up on my calculation sheet I felt a huge sigh of relief. I no longer think about it and haven't opened the box since. I also no longer save like crazy to afford another piece of gold. I feel great that my stack is finished 😎
Same, i stacked silver and a little gold like crazy for awhile before getting what i felt like was a decent amout, then i got bored and forgot about it for 6 months. Definitely makes you feel better to have it during uncertain times especially now that its almost impossible to get a hold of.

Yesterday I traded 1oz of gold for 90 american silver eagles. Paid a bit extra to get the full 90. The ratio yesterday morning was 96:1. I believe silver had much more room to grow when compared to gold right now.

The 10-year note has been more appealing in the past because it has a dividend yield attached where gold has none, so my point is once you remove the dividend yield, gold is now on an even playing field and should get more investor attention.
I love stacking 5 pound, 2 pound and regular Sovereigns. I live in the USA and have more British Sovereign than US gold coins...lol. I think Numistacker really got bee into them. I mostly collect proof and graded Sovereigns and definitely on the numismatic side for value. There are so many different colonial mints, iso many different king and queen heads, and every so many years a special reverse comes out and sell off in hours. It's funny how the more one researches a specific coin, the more enthusiasm grows for the coin type. Well....I'm hooked on Sovereigns ......thanks Numi!!!

Gold is a classic headge against cisis, silver is a hybrid. Because its used a lot in industry. Means when a crysis comes gold stay or go up in in a crisis, silver will go down a little or stay.
You might want to take a look at the Vreneli. 1) it’s beautiful 2) was made from 1897 to 1949... so it wasnt banned and probably will never be banned. 3) great value

Ah... well Silver Dragons, I am very limited as to where I can buy coins... I am in Canada and live in a remote place where there are no local coin shops... I have to shop online and so far, I have never found a gold Sovereign for sale at anything other than quite a high premium. I buy most of my metals at Silver Gold Bull... I would not buy Gold from any source that I could not count on for assuring that what I bought is genuine. I think that if I ordered anything from outside my own Country that the shipping and import costs would be prohibitive. So that's about it... I did order Salavate Metal's Multitude of Furtitude silver 2 oz coins from the U.S. and with import costs they ended up being Canadian $142.00 each coin... so ... Although I really love them and wanted them, I won't buy outside Canada again.

I just started seriously stacking silver. I want to start with gold as well but my budget wont let me buy more than 1 gram of gold a week. Do you think its useless because of the super high premiums that come with buying such small quantities at a time? When buying older gold coins remember you never want them cleaned! Unlike silver it's very difficult to tell cleaned gold coins. Some gold coins are polished - those are pretty simple to tell. But you almost need a professional's eye to tell a cleaned gold coin.
Buy what ever size gold coin you can afford🤔 It is great if somebody can afford a 1oz gold coin, but for most people a half sovereign or 1/10 oz gold coin might be all that they can afford 👍
I have been buying the Mexico 2 Peso and 2.5 Peso gold coins. Even with price increase they can be had for about $100. They are affordable ways to accumulate without necessarily breaking the bank.
Where are you going to spend a 1/10 oz of gold, the size of your finger nail, at a Gas station worth almost $170? Gold will be difficult at any retail center. But an ASE will put you to the head of any Check out lane, during a currency situation.
The international settlement bank accepts gold as a tier 1 asset. Which makes it equivalent to tbills and usd from a risk and liquidity point of view. Silver isnt even a tier 3 asset in that system. Silver cant decide if it is a commodity like copper or a financial instrument like gold. For the time being it will stay in limbo.
I believe the maple leaf is 24k and the American Eagle is 22k. Don't think the maple is a proof just better purity and maybe polishing. I could be wrong...

I've got 6/10-oz (six 1/10-oz) of AGE and two 5-oz bars (Pamp Suiss). My LCS prefers the coins as he's never seen a counterfeit but has seen fake bars, even in assay. So the rare times I buy gold, I guess I'll be going with AGEs. Oh, I bought a 1/10th oz AGE yesterday (2/28) and he charged $174 (no taxes). Apmex is higher + taxes. Imo - Covering basic needs is what silver is for; gold is for the big transactions like real estate when the bottom begins to swing up. Gold is wealth preservation/ wealth accumulation. Silver is for surviving the downturn.

What is your opinion on cleaned gold coins? Tryptophan decide on what to stack and getting as many options as possible. Gold is gold but I’ve traded some of my silver for what my LCS broker had but still not sure on what I live in design.

I just started seriously stacking silver. I want to start with gold as well but my budget wont let me buy more than 1 gram of gold a week. When buying older gold coins remember you never want them cleaned! Unlike silver it's very difficult to tell cleaned gold coins. Some gold coins are polished - those are pretty simple to tell. But you almost need a professional's eye to tell a cleaned gold coin.

I have been buying the Mexico 2 Peso and 2.5 Peso gold coins. Even with price increase they can be had for about $100.

most of my Gold is pre 1933. 1852 $1 liberty, 1862 $1 female indian, 1889 $5 liberty, 1908 $20 no motto St. guadens, and 1914 $2.50 indian.
The international settlement bank accepts gold as a tier 1 asset. Which makes it equivalent to tbills and usd from a risk and liquidity point of view. Silver isnt even a tier 3 asset in that system. Silver cant decide if it is a commodity like copper or a financial instrument like gold. For the time being it will stay in limbo.

I've got 6/10-oz (six 1/10-oz) of AGE and two 5-oz bars (Pamp Suiss). My LCS prefers the coins as he's never seen a counterfeit but has seen fake bars, even in assay. So the rare times I buy gold, I guess I'll be going with AGEs. Oh, I bought a 1/10th oz AGE yesterday (2/28) and he charged $174 (no taxes). Apmex is higher + taxes. I also got a 2020 ASE for around $21 😀
