Looks good. I look forward to seeing it in action. What size tank did you add? I've been thinking about adding a tank to mine. I don't think 12 gallon is enough even for the 22 gpm pump especially in warm weather. Thanks, I enjoy your videos.
I got it from splitez, you have to call to order but I am not sure if they are still in business. They are an older couple that were nearing retirement.
Andy, what size is your suction hose from the tank to the intake of the 28 gpm pump? Most of the 28 gpm pumps have 1" NPT ports so I assume a 1" hose is sufficient but if you go to any "professional" hydraulic sites they want you to have a 2-4 ft per second viscosity which based off all their charts that should be a 1.5-2" suction hose. Just from watching your video it looks like your suction hose is 1" but i just wanted to see how it's working.
I kept it 1 inch, but I would consider bumping it up just to reduce resistance in the hose. No matter how many times I have tried tightening my hose I keep getting a small amount of air introduced in the system. I am assuming it is the extra drag on the hose. It doesn’t leak when it is not running either.
@@portercreek Thank you so much for the quick reply. I'm designing a new splitter build and laying out all the fittings and adapters I'll need in excel and have wrestled with that. This is really helpful
Andy, I'm changing my setup to a 1 1/4" suction line based on your recommendation. Would you see any value in running 1" hoses from pump to valve and valve to the return with your 28 GPM setup? Or even 1" from valve to cylinder as well? That would require a bunch of additional fittings and I'm not sure there would be value there since the pump is 3/4" NPT and so is the Valve in/out and work ports. I feel like 3/4" is sufficient but when i look at some of Eastonmade's machines it sure looks like their supply/return and pressure lines are 1" on their bigger machines with 28 gpm pumps but it's so hard to tell from pictures. Last question: do you remember off hand what size NPT ports are on the Dump valve? They appear to be 3/4" NPT but SplitEZ doesn't list it on their site.

I added a 15 gal tank. Thanks!
Hi Andy. Great video! What model # valve did you purchase? Is it the RD5200?
I called these folks and ordered it from them. I am not sure what model it is. m.splitez.com/dump-valve.html
Hello, what dump valve are you running and where did you get it thank you we just purchased this splitter and making our mods to it lol

@@derekchaplin2867 bigger pressure hoses would only help with keep the oil cooler and I think it’d be pretty negligible.
I believe they are 3/4”
Hi iam building a log spliter having a hard time finding dump please helh Great job thank you
I ordered my from splitez, you have to call them, they are out of CA
