My Ensoniq journey began with the Mirage DSK. Then I added an ESQ-1. Then I added an SQ-80. Then I added the VFX SD. Then I added the Ensoniq SDP-1. Last thing I added was the Mirage rack mount. I still have all the above. It was so nice to listen to this video. Your playing is stellar. It's nice to hear the keyboards side by side. Each model has it's own strengths and weaknesses. You put alot of time and effort into this video. Thank you so much for sharing Michel. I hope you still have all these keyboards !
My first ensoniq was an esq-1 , which I bought when it came out in 1986. still have it. So far I have added a mirage, sq1+32, sq1r, ks32, kt76, zr76, mr rack , asr10, eps16+, t§10 and 3x ts12. I have the halo as well but don’t consider it an ensoniq product.Still looking for the mr61 and the sampled piano module and esq-r

WOW. I'm blown away by the mirage! It's hard to tell, but can anyone comment on the expressivity of the synthesis? In a pop mix i wouldn't have known it wasn't real, especially back then.
I have a TS-10. Almost any musical style can be played with this keyboard on a high-level , sometimes a top-level. That includes also classic music and various folklore. Thanks to the very effective filters , a sound sample can have three or more characters. The filters moderate the brightness at low velocity , but always open completely at maximum velocity , which leads to huge dynamics , as we know from CD recordings. The filters do not deform the sounds of acoustic instruments at low velocities , so flutes , wind instruments and strings , and of course the Grand-Piano , sound naturally at any velocities. Here are some music pieces that I have composed ... classic-music for a Ballet-Dance : th-cam.com/video/Fc9KH8OGOH8/w-d-xo.html classic-music for a figure-skating performance : th-cam.com/video/dZfE4B-U61M/w-d-xo.html a classic music in a Greek-style : th-cam.com/video/zOzbng3FmtY/w-d-xo.html a Serbian Brass folklore : th-cam.com/video/HebssFqVq98/w-d-xo.html and a Spain flamenco-influenced music for dancing : th-cam.com/video/xw3w-f-2FnI/w-d-xo.html Two Ensoniq TS-10 Sound presentations from me : th-cam.com/video/3l7EndfTEw0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/e5tzPDfCMi4/w-d-xo.html I search for investors for Musicals. Weren't the SQ1, SQ2, SQR and KS 32 all the same synth? SQ2 is just a 76-key SQ1, SQR is just a rack mount SQ1 and KS 32 is just a weighted action SQ1. The originals were all 21-voice and then they upgraded to 32-voice. (KS-32 always 32 voice.) I had an SQ2 32-voice and SQRs in both 21 and 32 voice versions. Loved them all.
I lived in PA in the early 90's and got a tour of the Ensoniq factory in Malvern, PA Too bad Creative Labs took them over......The end of a great company. ....Oh and the end of Emu as well Shame☹
The Halo is a disappointment & should never be mentioned eith the great Ensoniq heritage. I bought the best of the ZR chip for my Vintage Keys/pro & CC an firmly say that Yamaha's throw away general midi sounds FROM 30 YEARS AGO are better.

long live the vfx sd
I've owned and sold them all in retail. Good stuff. Nothing beat the mirage piano.
Thank you so much for sharing this. Awesome👍
Ts 10 The most popular musical instrument in Uzbekistan
why not TS-12?
@@sepic5407 Uzbeks really like polyphonic aftertouch?

SQ, KS32 and TS all have the same 16-bit multisample of a grand piano, perhaps its the layer posibilities and effects that makes the TS stand out.

Ensoniq ASR10 and 88 fully expanded had the best pianos.
The most realistic piano sounds for it's time, Ensoniq TS10 rules 😊

Seems like the Fizmo is missed on this list :)
Nunca debiera haber desaparecido esa marca...

Tive um Ensoniq MR-76 , não consigo enxergar o mercado dos tecladistas sem um Ensoniq, como é hoje em dia.
hoje tenho um TS12 e posso te falar o negocio e pesado no som

i own the ensoniq sq1 plus 32 voice, ensoniq mr61, TS12, KT88,, I might get a SD1 or VXF or a ZR76.

I bought the halo just to complete my collection. It’s nothing but a rebranded EMU keyboard and has little to do with ensoniq. I never play it

No me gustan sus pianos, son muy latas, no me convence ninguno.
