i like when oatmeal cookies have raisins, i find raisins more sweet than chocolate chips somehow lol. to be clear i fucking love chocolate, i'm addicted to it. but with oatmeal cookies i just want raisins. idk why. if i want a chocolate chip cookie i don't want oats in it
@@wolfferoni There's an interesting philosophical difference here. To my mind, the oatmeal is just a vessel for whatever is in the cookie. Your perspective seems to be that the oatmeal is itself the point. Have we tried making just regular oatmeal cookies, with nothing in them?

I have a stick of softened butter on the counter but I store the rest of the sticks in the fridge for longevity. You can store butter out on the counter for a week or two.
Love these highlights! I often have streams on in the background so it's fun to see what themed bits I may have only paid half attention to at the time.
salted butter is safe to leave out of the fridge and even recommended to be left out of the fridge. unsalted butter should be kept in the fridge, and it is strongly advised not to leave it out for prolonged amounts of time unless you are using it to cook/bake (as the heat will kill an bacteria that crawled it's way on as the unsalted butter was sitting out. . essentially, the salt in salted butter helps to preserve the butter and kill bacteria making it safe to leave out. unsalted butter obviously doesn't have that same protection and can easily go bad or develop bacterial colonies when left out too long. . so whether or not you leave you butter out really depends on what kind of butter you have. (the same salted or unsalted rule applies to margarine too. salted stays out, unsalted goes in the fridge)
I was always told if you aren't going to use your butter every day just put it in the fridge. and if you intend to keep it for an extended period to freeze it and thaw in fridge later. but if you use it everyday you can leave it on the counter in a butter container.
Tiramisu isnt that complicated, hoven free, just layering, maybe the worst part could be found the good ingredients, but its one of the first cake we learn to make in western Europe when we are kido Both, take care of eachother and yourself plz, i love you ✨💜
You should make a cheesecake next!! I remember on one of your AITA episodes it was about cheesecake. And you were wondering if it was complicated. You should try it!!!!!
The butter thing is interesting. It depends on what the butter is for. Long term storage and baking butter (unsalted) stays in the fridge butter keeper, while a 1/4 of a salted brick stays in the counter butter dish. Way easier to spread immediately, and it's used quickly. It's not the same concerns as leaving literal milk out. I didn't even realize this wasn't common (I'm 🇨🇦 btw). My grandparents always had butter dishes growing up.
The only oatmeal raisen cookie I enjoyed someone bought at a store and brought to a potluck type thing and I have no clue where they got it, but the thing that made it good was the raisens were tiiiny, and so the texture wasn't there, and the flavor was somehow better.
Chocolate chip. I have been begging the heavens to take me to the alternate universe where chocolate chip oatmeal cookies (sans raisins) are the norm...
I’ve never had an oatmeal chocolate chip cookie… sounds good but I also love oatmeal raisin! I like to make monster cookies that have pecans, coconut, chocolate chips, and oats and then they’re topped with salt! Yum!
i leave butter on my counter for like a week or 2 and it doesn't go bad until after that. if it's really warm like in the summer it will kinda melt or the oils will separate though. the weirder thing was my puerto rican ex's family left eggs out in the cupboard instead of in the fridge
As much as I love chocolate I LOOOOOOOVE raisins in oatmeal cookies. They just get so plump and sweet and fruity- it’s a totally different experience and they’re so yummy! I don’t like raisins when I’m just eating them alone, but I adore them in baked goods!!
My daughter's favorite cookie is oatmeal raisin! I like them ok. And I leave a stick of butter on the counter in a butter tray for use during the week. Otherwise the butter is in the refrigerator. I like how Ben is slowly getting you into learning how to bake!! Only measuring half the ingredients this time. Next thing you know Cristine will be a real baker!

I have a very important question that if you could answer it would change my life. I have trichotillomania, excoriation disorder and dermatillomania. And they cause me to pick at my skin everyday excessively and even bleed. My nails are basically the only cause of it, if they were not sharp it would help me to not pick anymore. I have tried acrylics which worked great but eventually it was too expensive to get all the time. But nail polish, clipping them short, gel manicures and stickers do not work. Do you have any suggestions on something practical and easy that would make my nails so soft or thick that they won't scratch or be able to pick my scalp anymore? I know you are very smart so I hope you can help. Also, let me know if you answer this, I don't want to mistakenly miss it in a video without knowing.
If you want controversy make butter tarts. Canadians have strong opinions about the raisin/no raisin variations and you could introduce butter tarts to some of your international fans that may not be familiar. You could buy premade crusts if you wanted to make them on easy mode.
I'm not super into chocolate but I despise raisins so my vote would be chocolate. Also I'm from Europe and I definitely store butter in the fridge, it's a dairy product! Maybe you can store it on the counter if you live in a cold climate but I would never leave it out for more than like 1 hour maximum.

I agree wholeheartedly. The raisin flavor just compliments the oat flavor and texture so much better than chocolate chips
BEYN: “So annoying.”
SIMPLY: “No, I’m a magician.”
ME: Those are not mutually exclusive 😂
Chocolate chips already have their own cookie. Let raisins have this one; it's all the little guys have left.🥺

I work in Subway and we used to do Raspberry and white chocolate cookies, they were amazing but they discontinued them! 😒
My subway still has them, or did the other week when I went, is that a recent thing? They're my favorite cookies there.

Outside of Canadian fridge: -20°C
Why not chocolate AND raisins? Perhaps add caramel to the mix? That sounds super awesome!

People who put raisins in any type of cookies hate happiness.
