One reason for this policy could be that when people in the US embassy/consulates write daily reports they would mention a pro-Palestine protest in their resorts. And the ruling class in Pakistan doesn’t want any calls from DC. They want to be good guys in the eyes of the US. Second, Pakistani defense establishment sees the current Palestine situation as war between Saudis and Iranians with Iranians on the side of Palestinians. And, Saudis being in the US and Israel camp doesn’t want Pakistani Sunni people to know Saudi’s involvement. So they simply pressurize the establishment to stop these protests. The process you are mentioning is for running or starting a non public campaign/movement. The Palestine is not an issue to start a movement in Pakistan. Here in the US there are movements to raise awareness in private/public for this issue. But you could be flagged on this particular issue so it is important for organizers to keep the awareness movements in private. But a protest is always public. Why the US if you’re curious? Because the US is a party to this conflict. Pakistan on the other hand has Islam in its constitution and the majority of people who are dying are Muslims. If people were able to use X they would’ve protested against the US almost everyday…

Thanks for sharing yet another perspective from a predominant Muslim nation. As a western Christian I’m learning. One thing I’ve learned If we step back and judge nations by biblical standards of justice, rather than through a shallow understanding of Christian, Muslim, or Jewish identities, I would argue that on a scale of 1-10, Iran ranks fairly high compared to most nations, probably around a 7. The U.S. and Zionist Israel, on the other hand, are likely at a 1 or 2. Neither has any standard of biblical justice. I’m thankful that Pakistan is in solidarity with Iran.
Also, it occurred to me there is some commonality between the political situations of Pakistan and Egypt, particularly regarding the ousting of democratically elected leaders.
Similar to Imran Khan’s ouster in Pakistan Mohamed Morsi became Egypt’s first democratically elected president in 2012. Just a year later, in July 2013, he was ousted by the military. This event underscored the Egyptian military’s influential role in governance.
In both nations, the military has historically held substantial sway over political affairs, often stepping in to remove civilian leaders from power and sadly both military’s are heavily influenced by U.S. interests.

Rania, you are one of the most inspirational people. But with due respect, I really suspect the analysis done by that professor, whom I do not know. Imran khan is the Pakistani Trump, nothing else. His whole politics is based upon agitation and accusing others. He came into power due to military support. And about Palestine, the support and voice had always been here because the Muslims here connect to the Muslims there. These sentiments have nothing to do with JUST colonialism. The religious sentiments are at the core of that support. And Imran Khan has nothing to do with that either. It is plainly the Muslims weeping over the sufferings of other Muslims. And Imran Khan has not been any different in the case of that genocide. He has not issued any statement, not even a single word. He kept issuing instructions for the party policy. He keeps his party members on a short leash. We have a legitimate, democratically elected government. It is not like we are living under dictatorship or draconian rule. The dictator was Musharaf.
P.S. khan was not removed from power by any illegal means. He is the first PM of Pakistan to be removed due to a no-confidence motion. Even his party members were not satisfied with his way of governing. The person you are talking to is also a part of the elite of Pakistan, who build narratives. They do not just observe or state narratives, they build them, make them and propagate.
