Archibald Beechcroft reminds me of Squidward Tentacles! Both have this sour snappish personality! I'm surprised that they didn't do a Squidward episode parodying this episode of The Twilight Zone!
My dad died on October 2 2020. I remember binge watching these that entire month. Then the next year, and here I am again. It's like a calendar for me as well along with the animated batman month every year. I love it and I'll hate when it ends.
🤣🤣I still remember watching this on a collection of Twilight Zone episodes, along with Nick of Time, The Prime Mover, and Isn't It A Good Day? I still laughed at around the ending when he brings back people, only they're all clones of him. 👵🤨"Would you please get off my foot, you ugly little man?" 🧑💼🙄"12th floor, everyone off. Ya sardines." 👨🏫😤"People, people, people; is there no respite, is there no relief?
Except he wasn't an asshole?? I don't understand how the man HIMSELF was a asshole, he just didn't like other people. Not everyone needs to conform to extroversion
I admire Berman's commitment to playing multiple versions of himself, even if the special effects haven't held up well. Who knew that even a misanthrope could be easily annoyed with himself?!
Every misanthrope who's ever lived. The one voice I can't escape is my own. Even now I can hear it whispering at me from the dark, taunting me, laughing at me ... Hmmm. Maybe I should lay off FF6 for awhile.
As someone with social anxiety, I agree. Except I wouldn't have gotten bored so quickly. I have lists of things I want to do if I had more time to myself.
Welcome back to Twilight Tober Zone 2022, Walter. I love your thorough, concise points, and I always learn something new that I overlooked on my first watch.
I look forward to this all year., This shows how little a life that I have. But oh well, it's a great time. I admit that I get Beechcroft moments where I would like everyone to disappear.
This series finally got me to buy the complete tv series on disc so I can watch every episode and even show them to my family. I love sci-fi so much and especially 1950’s sci-fi
This whole episode, despite the comedy, is also the notion of "we really wouldn't want to meet ourselves" taken to a somewhat horrific notion. Here you get someone literally repopulating the world with people just like him and finding out, "Man, I am an absolute asshole."
the interesting aspect is people often ask "so you want everyone to be just like you"........I would never view life that way at all, but I find people who don't "get it" seem to think that.
I like tNC, and seeing Tamara always brings a smile to my face, but TZ is my alltime favourite TV show, and that makes this my alltime favourite series on the channel.
It is good to have you back my friend. Also, I've never noticed the face masks to make everyone in the elevator look like Archibald. Now, I can't unsee it.
I never got the chance to watch this series when I was younger, that's why I always wait for the yearly tober zone since it comments and talks about this amazing series. Made me watch a few episodes even though they were hard to find. THANK YOU TOBER ZONEEE
Ah the return of twilight-tober. That is how you truly know that October has begun at channel awesome. Here’s to the next 30 days of spooky scary show reviews. 💀👹😈👺🤡👻👽🎃🤖🧠🫀🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻♀️🧟♂️🧟♀️🦇🕷🕸🦂🐍🍁🌕🍭🍬🍫
I knew someone like this character who thought the world would be better if everyone was like him. Sadly there are plenty of people like that today and I know for a fact they would regret it later on, because the guy I mentioned found someone like him and grew not only to hate that person but himself later on. Came out a completely changed man.
Imagine if the ending was ALL the other Beechcroft's wished the original Beechcroft out of existence because of his way of thinking? WOW. THAT WOULD OF BEEN DARK!
One of the best parts of October is here! I can't wait for this next batch of episodes, some of which I've never seen! I'm going to watch each one the night before the reviews come out!
I love myself a good Twilight Zone review. As always The Twilight Tober Zone doesn't disappoint. An entertaining enough, light episode that will put a smile on your face
For those curious about The Twilight Zone, may I recommend DIMENSIONS BEHIND THE TWILIGHT ZONE by Stewart Stanyard. This must-have book contains interviews with writers and actors connected to the original TZ. There's also some great behind the scenes photos from some of the episodes. This very episode with Shelly Berman is included in the book. Several photos even give the audience a peek at how they manipulate the camera to make the viewer feel like the subway car was moving next to the actor. The book is currently available to order on AMAZON.
this reminds me of that Looney Tune where the cat thinks the world is too noisy so he wishes to go to mars or the moon or something and the aliens are noisy too, which makes him appreciate Earth more when he gets back! So glad it's time for another year of this!
I saw an interview with Shelly elsewhere on TH-cam and he said Rod called him to do this episode. Having seen some of his act at the time, it is well suited for him. Have a great day!
With a title like this, the one thing I would fix about the plot is the ending. I would have the character TRY to fix the world but gind he can't. Breaking down at the realization. Then we would learn the truth that everything after reading the book was in his head. He so wanted to rid the world of people that he convinced himself he had the power and was experiencing a delusional hallucination. It started with simply ignoring the presence of the landlady and then everyone around him but escalated to him inventing non existent versions of himself to replicate the world. We could find out he started just acting like no one was around him, catching the attention of his coworkers perhaps thinking he was being a jerk but then creating genuine concern as he was running around to himself. He was now so trapped in his own internal world he wished himself into mentally that he had no idea he was taken I to custody and now a hopless case in an institution. Doubly trapped on the outside as on the inside with no idea and the most ironic part being that it doesn't really matter. The only real world to him now is the one he invented to escape the one he was in but now it is just as bad and worse. Also, if he were ever to come out of his delusion he would find himself still in a worse place than he was as a result of his mindfully acts. The orgional is certainly happier but I feel this ending would be more impactful and closer to some of the greater twilight zone endings.
Interestingly, I believe this to be an adaptation of an old science fiction story by I want to say Ray bradbury. The concept was there's this really stubborn man living somewhere I think in the midwest. You cannot change his mind. If he thinks something, that's the final say. And as the story continues, it turns out that if he passionately believes in something, it happens. This becomes a concern to those around him as if he decides something shouldn't exist, it doesn't. I recall at one point in the story he gets into an argument about I think gravity or how the Earth spins and things go out of control all over the planet. How it ends, they basically explain to him who he is and what he's doing, and he starts to make comments that he doesn't think such a thing could exist. And then disappears in mid sentence. Obviously this one chose a happier route, but I can't help but feel that whoever however this story came together, they may have read or been familiar at least in part with that story
Now this is some prime Twilight Zone sci-fi magic here. What a horrifying concept, Beechcroft isn't just sending people away, he's erasing them, eliminating them. He talks about decimating, destroying people; he's not just misanthropic, he sounds sociopathic. It strikes me that Beechcroft has the same powers that Anthony Fremont from "It's a Good Life" has. It's an impressive choice to set this as a comedic tone episode when it could easily live up to the horror of that one. The only difference is that he has the maturity and conscience that Anthony lacks to set the world back. I think I was impressed by the effects a little more than Walter was. I didn't notice the masks until watching this recap. While watching the episode, my eye was following the other moving parts on screen so I never noticed how stiff and phony they looked. The other effects are quite well done. Kudos to Walter for noticing that thing about the music. I didn't make that connection but it's fun to imagine a jazz band rendition of the Ghostbusters theme. I think I'd rate this a little higher than decent: great premise, a strong performance, solid effects, and an unexpected tonal choice make for an episode worth returning to check out.
Great review and now I subscribed to paramount plus I can watch some of the episodes of the twilight zone episodes that you mentioned, It’s great to be back in the twilight tober zone
I wonder what city this episode was portraying. They feature a subway system, but it does not have to mean NYC exclusively. It sort of looks enviable or romantic now that so many people were living in large apartments or town homes and could commute via public transportation.
Honestly I can relate to Archibald when it comes to disliking people but I would never wish people out of existence if I had the power to do so I might say that I want to but that's just my frustration talking due to how difficult the size of the population makes my work I feel like sisyphus having to roll the boulder uphill

Thank you for bringing back this series, it'll be wonderful to look forward to a new review every day in October! ❤️
I need to binge watch these and catch up.
Archibald Beechcroft reminds me of Squidward Tentacles! Both have this sour snappish personality! I'm surprised that they didn't do a Squidward episode parodying this episode of The Twilight Zone!
Is it just me, or do you realize an entire year has passed when you see these awesome videos have come back? This show is like my calendar
Precisely, I always get excited when I see the complication videos of the previous year, and know that the new reviews are nigh!
The October didn't really hit me until then.
I just realized that this is the first of October! I was looking forward to The Twilight Tober Zone again!
Yeah this year went by really quick
My dad died on October 2 2020. I remember binge watching these that entire month. Then the next year, and here I am again. It's like a calendar for me as well along with the animated batman month every year. I love it and I'll hate when it ends.
“Today the landlady, tomorrow the world” is rapidly becoming one of my favorite out of context quotes
It’s the perfect Saturday morning cartoon villainy you could hear.
I still love the line uttered by the Beechroft lady, " Would you please get off my foot you ugly little man?!"
@@naughtycicero1460 I read it an the Brain's voice from "the Pinky and the Brain", but I'm not sure he's an actual villian.
🤣🤣I still remember watching this on a collection of Twilight Zone episodes, along with Nick of Time, The Prime Mover, and Isn't It A Good Day? I still laughed at around the ending when he brings back people, only they're all clones of him.
👵🤨"Would you please get off my foot, you ugly little man?"
🧑💼🙄"12th floor, everyone off. Ya sardines."
👨🏫😤"People, people, people; is there no respite, is there no relief?
i just hear Thanos 🤣
You ever hear the expression, “if everyone’s an asshole, it’s probably you,”? This episode feels like an exploration of that concept.
Speaking as an introvert, I feel like this character speaks to me more than I'm comfortable with.
Mood, one of my favorite episodes
As someone with social anxiety, I agree. Except I wouldn't have gotten bored so quickly. I have lists of things I want to do if I had more time to myself.
Just like this character, I think we all, every once in a while, have this fantasy of wanting to shape the world in our own image
And true proof we’d be the worse for it, “When has anyone ever truely known what they wanted”
Twilight-Tober '22!
So it is back finaly!
My thanks for keeping your promises ;).
7:25 The crossover we didn't know we needed.
The character is very relatable. We can’t live with people, but we can't live without them.
Also we definitely cannot live in a world where everyone else acts like you!
My parents have that EXACT grandfather clock. Man brings back memories.
We quote this one all the time. "People, people, people! Is there no respite?! Is there no relief?!"
YAY! Twilight-Tober Zone IS BACK!!!!!!
This is so refreshing! A wholesome, happy episode where no one suffers too harshly from their choices.
"With all its faults, it may as well be that this is the best of all possible worlds" somehow that's both terrifying and wholesome.
Yes! Good to know I'm not the only one who think Archibald going from apathetic to Bond villain in two seconds is hilarious!
that. was. PERFECT :D
Just another example of the Zone's trope of "Be Careful What You Wish For!"
TWILIGHT-TOBER ZONE IS BACK!!! THANK YOU CHANNEL AWESOME!!!
Thank you so much I wait all year for this 🎉
This was one of the first episodes I ever saw, and one of my favorites
I remember on Futurama they had their version of Twilight Zone Show called The Scary Door.
Why should I believe you? You're Hitler!
Welcome back to Twilight Tober Zone 2022, Walter. I love your thorough, concise points, and I always learn something new that I overlooked on my first watch.
Imagine aliens taking over the Earth if there are no humans at all.
Also Twilight-Tober Zone of 2022 is gonna have a great start.
Great job, Walter!
It's back!!!! This show is just euphoric rush that both gives me nostalgia from the past two years and fear of November 1st.
Disneycember, Twilightober Zone, Nostalgiaween and "COMMERCIALS!" are the best times of the year, Happy October is here!
Don't forget Bat-May!
I look forward to this all year., This shows how little a life that I have. But oh well, it's a great time. I admit that I get Beechcroft moments where I would like everyone to disappear.

the interesting aspect is people often ask "so you want everyone to be just like you"........I would never view life that way at all, but I find people who don't "get it" seem to think that.
I don't think I want the whole population to be just like me!
Well it's time for me to come back to channel awesome for a month just to watch these videos
Always comfy to watch these around the time of Autumn 🕰
I like tNC, and seeing Tamara always brings a smile to my face, but TZ is my alltime favourite TV show, and that makes this my alltime favourite series on the channel.
Yes Twilight-Tober is here again
Glad to have this series back
Walter, I have missed your face and your Twilight-Tober Zone!
Glad to see this back. Love Twilight-Tober
It is good to have you back my friend.
Also, I've never noticed the face masks to make everyone in the elevator look like Archibald. Now, I can't unsee it.
They are so bad they are charming.
YAAASSS!! I have been waiting all year for this!!
I never got the chance to watch this series when I was younger, that's why I always wait for the yearly tober zone since it comments and talks about this amazing series. Made me watch a few episodes even though they were hard to find. THANK YOU TOBER ZONEEE
I love Twilight-Tober Zone! It's my favorite series.
I'm glad these are back! I'm going to be sad when they run out!
One of my favorite overlooked episodes of the series
This isnt the only reason I love October
But it sure is a big one
So happy Twilight-Tober Zone is back! This is such a fun episode!
I literally watched both compilations 3 days before this month started, know what was in store.
7:26 dang, that song already “borrows heavily” from Huey Lewis & The News, but Twilight Zone as well?! Crazy!
I totally forgot about this series. glad to see it back!
Like the video. Started watching the series last year. Cannot wait for Sunday's episode since it will be "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up."
I recently found this series last month and I have to say it is among my top 5 ever on TH-cam!!!!
Been looking forward to this series for a while now. Now the fun of the Twilight-Tober Zone begins!
Been waiting for this! Love this series. Thank you sir!
MY FAVORITE SERIES IS BACK!!
October has officially begun!
My favorite part of October is after the first day you have a nice round 30 days left to celebrate Halloween! Keep ‘em coming, Walter my boy!!
Ah the return of twilight-tober. That is how you truly know that October has begun at channel awesome.
Here’s to the next 30 days of spooky scary show reviews.
💀👹😈👺🤡👻👽🎃🤖🧠🫀🧛🏻♂️🧛🏻♀️🧟♂️🧟♀️🦇🕷🕸🦂🐍🍁🌕🍭🍬🍫
One of my favorite Channel Awesome series, and one of the best parts of October in the 2020s thus far 💜
I knew someone like this character who thought the world would be better if everyone was like him. Sadly there are plenty of people like that today and I know for a fact they would regret it later on, because the guy I mentioned found someone like him and grew not only to hate that person but himself later on. Came out a completely changed man.
I'm so ready for this October. Let's go!
This series was a godsend in 2020! So glad it's back for another year. Another reason why October is my favorite month
Thanks for watching!
Imagine if the ending was ALL the other Beechcroft's wished the original Beechcroft out of existence because of his way of thinking? WOW. THAT WOULD OF BEEN DARK!
I realy missed this format. A lot of channels and creators make daily Halloween content but this is among my favourite no doubt.
I'm so glad this is back! Great quality, as always.
I'm glad I came to not dislike the host for these, it's the second thing I enjoy the most in this channel now.
Yayyyy best month of the year!
Yeah another year! You have to go through all seasons of original series, then the 85 series and so on. This could last for 10/20 years lol!
One of the best parts of October is here! I can't wait for this next batch of episodes, some of which I've never seen! I'm going to watch each one the night before the reviews come out!
This is the season I was waiting for the one with the rest of my favorites
I love myself a good Twilight Zone review. As always The Twilight Tober Zone doesn't disappoint. An entertaining enough, light episode that will put a smile on your face
Time travel back to the Twilight-Tober Zone with Walter.
I keep half expecting you to end the opening monologue with "you are now entering...through the Scary Door."
Even though Walter looks and sounds nothing like Sterling, he has him down perfectly
Amusingly, I think the masks actually end up leaning into the point of the episode to a degree.
Love this series! Thank you!
this reminds me of that Looney Tune where the cat thinks the world is too noisy so he wishes to go to mars or the moon or something and the aliens are noisy too, which makes him appreciate Earth more when he gets back! So glad it's time for another year of this!
That wasn't a Looney Tunes cartoon. It was an MGM cartoon called "The Cat Who Hates People".
omg its that time again… i love ittttttt
Yay I love this series
I relate to this character all too well.
I saw an interview with Shelly elsewhere on TH-cam and he said Rod called him to do this episode. Having seen some of his act at the time, it is well suited for him.
Have a great day!
This is the first episode of The Twilight Zone I ever saw, it will always hold a special place in my cold people -hating heart lol
I’m so glad that this series is back!! Such a wonderful way to get ready for Halloween! Thank you for all the work you put into them! 😃
I’m so glad it’s back
YAAAAY! It's October 1!

My favorite thing about October now thank you
Yessssss! Twilight-tober!!!
Yes, but he's happy at the end because he's the one who put all the people there, even if those people are unique!
2:12 “you’ll get your rent when you fix this D4MN DOOR!”
lol. I was just thinking that.
The Zone everyday.
Thanks
Just want to note: Shelly Berman’s albums from the late ‘50s and early ‘60s are fantastic.
Now this is some prime Twilight Zone sci-fi magic here. What a horrifying concept, Beechcroft isn't just sending people away, he's erasing them, eliminating them. I caught the Ghostbusters theme as well.
Great review and now I subscribed to paramount plus I can watch some of the episodes of the twilight zone episodes that you mentioned, It’s great to be back in the twilight tober zone
Looking sharp in the suit, friend.
I love Walter ❤️...kinda crushing on him too
I wonder what city this episode was portraying. They feature a subway system, but it does not have to mean NYC exclusively. It sort of looks enviable or romantic now that so many people were living in large apartments or town homes and could commute via public transportation.
"He feels like a guy you might know who complains about everything and his hatred of people is believable"
Well of course I know him he is Me

Honestly I can relate to Archibald when it comes to disliking people but I would never wish people out of existence if I had the power to do so I might say that I want to but that's just my frustration talking due to how difficult the size of the population makes my work I feel like sisyphus having to roll the boulder uphill
Damn, I was really looking forward to watching along on Hulu this month, but now Twilight Zone is on ParAmOuNt PlUs
