I think Ribbon-chan needs some nice rocks in her pool so she can climb up when she wants to, plus it would zhuzh up her place and make it more "aesthetic." Or as an English teacher like me would say, "aesthetically pleasing."
Just found you today, and I am enjoying your content! Thank you for allowing us to see a little part of your life. Love seeing Tokyo stay safe and have great week.
yummy ,nice thing to do out with friends. Go shopping that is a plus to all that nice things you did.You just made my day, my father is in the hospital and you can imagen how sad that is. So THANK'S needed it.
I am reading House of Sky and Breath (Crescent City book 2) for the second time and it's so good! I really loved all of her books. I just finished Fourth Wing and it is now in my top 10 favorite books of all time. If you're a fan of dragons, you'll definitely love this!
Hi Allison! I always watch a new video from you, it’s always so calming. Thanks for making them! My book recommendation would be Red Rising! It’s got great suspense and drama and the 6th book is coming out tomorrow! (: it’s more scifi, and I’m usually exclusively a fantasy lover myself but it’s my favorite series!
Hi Allison, really like how your friend displayed your plushies, very fitting with the room. Great video, big fan of Ribbon-Chan the turtle 🐢 a dip in the pool is probably the best way to cool off in the heat 😅 best wishes
OMG you should definitely read the Hero of Ages! Such an amazing book and end to the trilogy ahhhhhhhh And Tsubasa is my favourite manga of all times (together with xxxHolic). I'm a huge CLAMP fan in general and wish they would make male t-shirts of this collab as well 😢
I can wholeheartedly recommend Heaven Official's Blessing as a series to read. It's fantasy, romance (I cannot express how much I love the love in this story), gods and immortality and it will hurt and heal you in equal measure. You might cry but it's so worth it.
Thought I'd add a comment since you wanted one. 😄 Love the t-shirts. Tsubasa is one of my favourite animes. I also love Cardcaptor Sakura as well. So good that people in Japan are trusting you. 😄😄😄
I love watching your videos! I get the reading for fun and being able to finally get to do other things after grad school :) Reading-wise, I think you may really like The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, (it is one of my favorites). Or there is the Graceling series by Kristin Cashore
I live in Salt Lake City Utah and I just happened to stumble upon your videos one evening and I can't stop watching . I noticed in one of your videos you were talking about not being able to carry a lot of groceries . I to know how that feels Amazon has grocery baskets with wheels that's what I have and they are amazing You should check them out . Take care and I look forward to watching more of your videos ❤
Ahh the turtle! My husband is a huge fan of Brandon Sanderson- I just got him the first 3 mistborn books as leatherbounds. He keeps telling me to read them!
Throne of glass series is really good my peersonal favorite , that author also wrote A court of thorns and roses (acotar), If you really liked six of crows series that author has a series made before that one that was referenced in that series called the Grisha Trilogy you definitely don't want to miss that set! It's one of the most on your seat you can't guess whats next I have ever read
Honestly Allison as a fellow kindle owner, just sell the physical books and rebuy on kindle, i went through the same issue as you once where i had a hard time bringing myself to read the print books, and in the end i never did.
Thank you for vlogging, it brings me so much hope and joy to get to see what I’m not able to see right now! God bless you ❤ I AM IN LOVE WITH YOUR CHANNEL🥲😆🤩 **Unrelated Side note**: Is it possible to change the language of subtitles on TH-cam videos ? Like instead of English subtitles, is it possible to have Japanese instead (on TH-cam specifically?)
It was a great video today. I really like the coffee cup you used in the morning. The shelves look great. It is a very good use of the space. Have you read the manga Black Bird?
I didn’t know Zara Home was a thing. Always support a splurge. I want to start reading for fun again. I used to read at least one book a week but after starting law school I haven’t read a book at all. I do remember when I had a kindle I read a lot since if I stayed up late reading I was able to easily buy the next book since it was online. I don’t know if it’s fantasy but I liked the Knife of Never Letting Go.
OMG this turtle 🐢 is so cute! And a little splurge once in a while is totally fine. I mean that’s one of the good things about having a full time job, being able to buy things that make you happy without worrying too much if it’s too expensive or really necessary 😉 So if you want that new bedding from Zara home, go and get it. And by the way, it was really pretty. So absolutely understandable that you want it 😇
Hi Allison, our classes ended for the summer and I'm now working on moving out of my place. I'm going to Gifu in a few days--yeah! I like your new bag. I've been thrifting a lot and often see Longchamp dupes, but the staff know they're dupes and throw them in the junk bin--it's pretty obvious they are dupes. You got the bona fide article. My fave bags that I've gotten recently are a big denim tote made from recycled jeans and a Yoshida Porter bag--I see so many of them, and most are very much "guy" bags, but the one I got is beige and def works as a ladies' tote bag. On this trip to Japan, I've been surprised at being able to find almost anything I could want--foundation that matches my skin, clothing that fits me (ladies clothing that I can actually wear to work!) , shoes that fit (but, yeah they are guy's shoes).
Hi Allison . I also use Libby. Did not think that it would be available in Japan. Is it possible for you to give us a tour of a public library or the library at the university you attended?
Book recommendations: As the obvious one I'm gonna put Eragon out. I only read it last year after my brother swallowed the series book by book when they first came out, but I think it still holds up well. An easy read in young adults is war cross. Nothing fancy but a cute Japanese guy plays a part in it. I personally liked the land of stories series by Chris Colfer as well. Again easy read, but very relaxing. Maybe blackout or the tyranny of the butterfly. Not really fantasy and not feel good, but a lot of people in my friend group liked them so I'm just gonna throw them out here as well. But maybe read the cover text first and then decide whether they sound interesting.
Oh my god, do read the Deavabad Trilogy by S. A. chakraborty! It's the best Fantasy series I've ever read! Also I recently read all of the Lockwood and Co. Books and they're just sooo delightfull!
Aww the Cold Stone staff singing was so cute! They stopped singing at the stores in my area (California, Bay Area), not sure why. They used to come up with unique songs for whenever they'd get a tip. It was fun! What flavor did you get? I normally get the Chocolate devotion, and substitute the chocolate chips with an extra brownie.. I'm devoted to the chocolate lol.
I feel the clothing size situation, but for me it's actually the other way around. In Europe I'm quite small and have trouble finding clothes, but in Japan I'm slightly above average and can just get anything :D
When I saw Uniqlo dropped the CLAMP collection with Mokonas, I was dead 😭 I want it, but I don’t need 🤣 (for the better or worst, Uniqlo doesn’t operate in Brazil).
Two of my favorite series of read recently are the storm Light archive by Brandon sanderson and the king killer chronicles by Patrick rofuss. Both are brilliant, they have interesting magic systems. There just so good. Sorry for the long comment but also the throne of glass series also good.
If you haven’t already, PLEASE read all of tamora pierces books! Start with Alanna and just go for it. They are super easy reads, you won’t regret it. Also Seanan McGuire’s two main series are both wonderful!
Could you eventually do a video where you try out lolita fashion? I think Angelic Pretty strawberry-esque stuff would rly suit you! But also more toned down stuff / longer skirts like Innocent World or Metamorphose have might be more similar to your current style?
Is your new Longchamp Le Pliage in size large and could fit a laptop? I was planning to get one too, but maybe second hand. I was wondering around how much is it brand new in Tokyo, if you're comfortable sharing? :)
Is Tokyo less masking lately? I haven't seen one of your out and about videos in a while and i noticed that there weren't many masks in public it seems.
I assume if you’re reading Crescent City you’ve already done ACOTAR? (I actually haven’t done any other SJM except ACOTAR so far but CC and ToG are on my list!)
I'm currently reading a series by Karen Marie Moning. I'm on the 5th book and they're soooo good(and very spicy at times!) the first book is called Darkfever. highly recommend😁
Girl a crown of ivy & glass might be a good read- I just started it and so far it’s really good. Also Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Faeries is also so great it’s so rare to find fantasy books rn that aren’t like girls who are 18 (I’m just not for it anymore lmao) I am waiting to start the mistborn series my library only has 1 copy 🥲 also if you haven’t read ACOTAR good continue to stay away from it, each book is about 800 pages too long (really it’s more like 100, but I’m being hyperbolic) cause of the way the author writes honestly it’s awful lol
I think you should try reading The Tales of Alvin Maker by Orson Scott Card. Ender's Game author. My FAV!!! Fyi. Read everything he has written. The Alvin Maker series is a cool alternate history if magic was real and like different relationship with Native Americans. Very cool series of books that happens in like the Ben Franklin time and Nepolean Bonaparte type era. There is super love story in it too. lol you said thats what you was into when you made this video.
Arigatou gozaimashita! Always interesting and fun! Have you read the Kim Harrison Rachel Morgan in the Hollows paranormal private detective series? Starts off fun as Harrison world builds (witches, elves, pixies, vampires, werewolves, demons, ghosts, gargoyles), however series does get progressively darker. Harrison creates great characters and a believable world. On the lighter although still paranormal side is Gail Carriger's Parasol Protectorate steam punk series ("Buffy meets Jane Austen") with preternatural/soulless Alexa, her werewolf love interest, ghosts, vampires, her "mad hatter" friend and dreary Victorian family. Also love Lindsey Davis' ancient Roman, but Britannica born, sleuth Flavia Albia with her sleuthing, now "antique" dealing adoptive father, patrician mother and "colorful" Falco family (her dad Marcus Didius Falco was the protagonist in the original series), patrician aedile husband and assorted adopted strays. Percy Jackson's author's partner, Steven Saylor, has an ancient Roman sleuth series too - Gordianus the Finder.
Yeah I saw that bot reply to me and if you wanted a way for your subscribers to contact you would make a discord server so I ignored it and moved on, funnily enough, it responded to me after 2 days so I found it super sus lol And the shelves are a good way to save space in an apartment like that.
I haven’t had time to read much as I’m working on my debut novel inspired by sailor moon 😅 Fantasy Romance 😍 comes out September 1st. 🫣 If you haven’t read it yet From Blood and Ash cured my hang over after finishing the 3 series from Sarah J Maas.
LIKE THIS COMMENT IF YOU VOW TO PROTECT THE TURTLE RIBBON-CHAN WITH YOUR LIFE
I think Ribbon-chan is his pet but he only puts her in the pool for a little bit (because I’ve never seen her before this day 😂)
Sorry Allison, I only protect Anya with my life.
I think Ribbon-chan needs some nice rocks in her pool so she can climb up when she wants to, plus it would zhuzh up her place and make it more "aesthetic." Or as an English teacher like me would say, "aesthetically pleasing."
You should read the books MYST (based from that old video game).
They are soo good, there is 3 of them.
Just found you today, and I am enjoying your content! Thank you for allowing us to see a little part of your life. Love seeing Tokyo stay safe and have great week.
Omg! The Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles shirt! Perfection! 🤌🏻
Your shelf actually sits quite well in your apartment so I love it honestly.

Looks like a pretty awesome day in the life ❤🎉
I am reading House of Sky and Breath (Crescent City book 2) for the second time and it's so good! I really loved all of her books. I just finished Fourth Wing and it is now in my top 10 favorite books of all time. If you're a fan of dragons, you'll definitely love this!

I visited that Aoyama Flower Market when I visited in February! Very cool to see it on your vlog!
OMG you should definitely read the Hero of Ages! Such an amazing book and end to the trilogy ahhhhhhhh

I loved the cheer of the ColdStones staff. And good luck with the work balance!
Yes they were very cute 🥰
Thank you for sharing your life in Japan. I love watching your videos. 😊
I love watching your videos! I get the reading for fun and being able to finally get to do other things after grad school :) Reading-wise, I think you may really like The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, (it is one of my favorites). Or there is the Graceling series by Kristin Cashore

I'm watching this at dinner time, and Madi's pizza looks so good!

Always appreciate the Vlogs. Love the Pokemon plushies :) I have a really old Charmander one from like the early 2000's.
thanks 🥰

Hi Allison . I also use Libby. Did not think that it would be available in Japan. Is it possible for you to give us a tour of a public library or the library at the university you attended?
It’s not (I think?) but I use it with my US library card 😆 Public libraries here don’t do much english naturally 🥲

Love your videos! ❤

Great idea for shelf
Wishing you all the blessings y'll receive. Research on how Americans can buy a house in Japan. Cheers

Just Fun! Thanks❣
Book recommendation ( Heir chronicles) or ( The Seven Realms).
Turtles and ice cream? Best video ever
True friends should not be upset that you were late looking at a turtle and would just want to see pics/vids XD
That shelf looks really nice too :D
Could you eventually do a video where you try out lolita fashion? I think Angelic Pretty strawberry-esque stuff would rly suit you! But also more toned down stuff / longer skirts like Innocent World or Metamorphose have might be more similar to your current style?
I actually dabbled in lolita back in college! Maybe one day again 🥹

ooo I’ll look it up!!
Is your new Longchamp Le Pliage in size large and could fit a laptop? I was planning to get one too, but maybe second hand.
I was wondering around how much is it brand new in Tokyo, if you're comfortable sharing? :)
Yes it fits with looots of room! It was 22000 yen, basically all foreign brands are more expensive here 🫠🫠
Is Tokyo less masking lately? I haven't seen one of your out and about videos in a while and i noticed that there weren't many masks in public it seems.
uhh where did you get that tension rod shelf? If you have a JP Amazon affiliate link for that, pls share. I'm in Fukuoka 👋
Amazon but alright I really need to get around to figuring that out let me try this week 😩😩
I assume if you’re reading Crescent City you’ve already done ACOTAR? (I actually haven’t done any other SJM except ACOTAR so far but CC and ToG are on my list!)
I did the first book…it wasn’t really my vibe tbh but I do want to give the second one a chance 🫣 I prefer TOG 😅
Cute vibes ❤
I have six of crows in my audible library. Have you seen the tv show Shadow & Bone that's based on the books? So worth it.

I haven’t had time to read much as I’m working on my debut novel inspired by sailor moon 😅 Fantasy Romance 😍 comes out September 1st. 🫣
If you haven’t read it yet From Blood and Ash cured my hang over after finishing the 3 series from Sarah J Maas.
