Something about hearing that he became blind and wasn't born that way makes this more tragic yet pure and touching.
Man, this dude is strong. To be blind and still be happy. If this was me, my happiness would be gone. Its not like he was born blind, so to take away something so important has a harsh impact on ones life.

Based on their dialogue I personally think she feels more comfortable with him BECAUSE he can't see.. maybe she initially tricked herself into thinking he'll therefore be less likely to judge that which he can't see... In any case, it's allowed them to grow this wonderful friendship :) :)

I may have generalized my own anxieties, but I meant they (those apps) allow you to interact with people in a way that erases the self-reflection of seeing someone ‘see’ you… I am not sure if that makes sense… andratoilee captured it... it feels safe and free being real with someone who can’t really see you… especially if you find yourself to be shameful or fundamentally flawed. Because in you mind you never have to be confronted with the reality of what/ who you are, even if your thinking of what/who you are is flawed.

I have a lot of respect for Anthony. He seems to have been through so much, yet I don't see any bitterness. I also like the fact that he says yes to everything so that he has a reason to get up each day. That is huge.
This video was so beautiful, I think it's my favorite one you guys have done. I started getting emotional at the end when he said he would give her strength to be who she wants to be and say what she wants to say. Those words are so empowering, especially coming from him and all he has gone through in his life. Great video and great duo!

I think the part that struck me the most about their conversation was the sense that Julia and Anthony are two people who really _see_ each other. At times it feels like our society is so focused on conventional scripts that we forget that sometimes depth is better than breadth. When watching this video it feels like we are peeking into a world marked with openness & sincerity all wrapped up in one great friendship.

What was so tangible in their connection was how they could feel for each other; a deep empathy. So much so they don’t even need to say it out loud, they even match each other’s energy silently when running. But here, they speak it to each other. :)
