    When welding aluminum with a spool gun, you need to "push" through your weld, and you need to move faster than what you would compared to welding steel. You also need to give yourself around 3/8" to 1/2" gap between the tip of your spool gun and the metal that you're welding.

      I found out I sucked at tig welding aluminum - and I've used the spool gun for few sets of brackets now.

    Are you using 110v or 220? I have the same machine only thing I have is 110v at my house

      Both of my welders are on 220.

      I have the same machine as well...mig welds excellent!!...even flux core...just ready to give the spool a try....I tell ya bud....u think u did bad...lmao....IL show ya mine...if I have a few mins to play today...IL keep ya posted

    You need gas to use spool gun?

      Yes you need argon.

      That machine is only for dc tig not ac tig ac tig is needed and 100%argon for tig 200 or 205 from freight will tig aluminum

      At least you tried bro...look at it this way....u may think it looks terrible...but to someone...(me) who has never welded any kind of aluminum with tig..or a spool gun....to me it looks FAN FRIGGIN TASTIC!!...and if that's just learning...u will get better...great vid tho!!
