Hi, Ariela here from Chile 🇨🇱... Eleanor, you are such an inspiring woman... thanks for share your work and your beautiful enthusiasm... from the bottom of my heart ❤️.
Enjoyed The Demise of Sunbonnet Sue & The Quilting Madonna very much. Eleanor Burns, you are a super lady and I can't wait to see the quilts you make for your grandchildren! Thank you for sharing!
You Gals make quilting so much fun. You are HILARIOUS together :-) Congratulations on so many years of enjoying what you do so well. May you have many many more!
OH MY GOSH! I just loved seeing this. I love sun bonnet sue , this was very well done. sorry Sue. but I do love the bonnet girls. And Eleanor Burns you bless my heart always.
Ahhh, Eleanor Burns! One of my favorite sewing stars! This brings back so many memories of my short career as a national educator for a sewing machine company. I spent 3 years designing and sewing projects, making step-by-step samples, writing project directions to be published, traveling all over the country doing day-long "edutainment" lecture/demo programs, teaching sewing machine dealers and their employees, minding our booth and teaching others at sewing/quilting shows, etc. It's all a big blur. I wish I had kept a diary now. Everything was so fast-paced. I'm pretty sure Eleanor was at some of the big shows, but never got the honor of working directly with her. They are so right about the traveling! So many people would comment about how glamorous my job was - haha! After 3 years, I physically could no longer do it. Still have nightmares about giant suitcases and giant airports complete with connecting flights where the next gate I had to maneuver to always seemed to be the furthest one from where the first plane left me. Doing that alone is hard work. Maybe if they would have let the educators have an assistant at least while traveling, I still might be doing that job. I did love teaching and meeting all the sewing people though. Most everyone that sews/quilts is just an all 'round good person with a big heart. And when a bunch gets together there is much excitement and fun! I got the biggest kick out of the oldest ladies and the things they would say. What a hoot! I'm sure these two know what I mean. Congrats on your 35th and upcoming 36th anniversary, Eleanor! Both of you are really good at "edutainment" too! (I landed here looking for a quilt I had seen some time ago about the demise of Sunbonnet Sue. My mom just finished a baby quilt for her 5th great grandchild and 1st great granddaughter, a very cute, traditional Sunbonnet Sue - and I with my warped sense of humor wanted to post a pic of the Demise of Sunbonnet Sue quilt as a response to her FaceBook pic of her sweet quilt pic she posted. Bwahahahahaha! The one I am looking for is sort of R-rated.) I will post a link for your video too, as I think she will appreciate it. Thanks to you both for sharing and for all the work you do! I know it ain't easy and I hope you realize the enormous amount of people you have helped develop their skills and entertained at the same time.
Geez, when Bonnet Sue entered the Army, I thought for sure you would say, "She was kidnapped by Al Qaeda and had her head chopped off." She's already been stabbed, used for fish bait etc...then died. Kind of sick humor on your part.
