- It's a year in the making. I know that I've had you guys wait a long time for this, so here it is.
I got the funding to make the film by an app, so if you want more films of mine funded in the future, consider downloading the app!
Link: harbor.social/
You can learn more about the app here: • Introducing FUTO ID - ...
For Patrons, I'll upload the soundtrack to my Patreon so that you all can download it and listen to it. I think that TH-cam's compression might hurt the quality of the film, so I'll post a less-compressed version of the film to Patreon as well.
If you like the short, consider throwing me a couple bucks to get the better version of it on Patreon!

I want to thank FUTO for helping to make this happen. All I had to do was add in our identification app into some scenes but I pretty much had complete creative control and got to have so much fun making this with Charls. If you liked our little film, consider checking out FUTO ID. You can learn more about it here: th-cam.com/video/bbHAVGukMBw/w-d-xo.html
And you can download it here: harbor.social/
It's totally free right now but downloads will ensure that I can get funds to make something else. I know that Charls and I were talking about possibly doing a feature.
Pls more
yo louis rossmann and chuck? yooooo
Chuck didn’t even know they were filming, freestyled the whole thing
Rapping
Nobody can match his FREAK. 😈
This is a documentary about Chuck.
Charls actually lived through the 1940s and 50s, giving him valuable insight into this role
Charls was born for roles like this
In the end it truly was a Kino Corner
based DreadAnon
It's a beautiful day when I get to see something new from one of the three
4 with Eric Hayden tho
Black and white charls is so GOATED
Now we just need black Charls
Holy fuck. So many golden lines here, the "one" line was beautiful. Yes Chuck, a single time is one time too many.
Charls a gem. We’re all lucky to see this collaboration. By God, I think we’re on the good timeline.
We are so back.
Yep. Noir detective kino is back on the menu.
I feel like I comment this with every new upload but, holy shit
Please keep making more stuff with Charls. The world needs it
2:20 Intentional or not, You captured the David Lynch Mulholland drive aesthetic/soundtrack/sound design perfectly here, The acting adds to this a lot as well . 10/10 stuff, awesome short film man
It was intentional
8pm meeting, got to work during drinking hours again
The performances from all of the actors were incredible. I rarely give TH-cam videos my whole attention however while watching I was completely glued to the screen, mind captured by the story. Every shot is very beautiful, visually interesting and the story was incredible. I was wondering the entire time why anachronistic genre tropes were used I thought it was just for aesthetics but it actually had substance which was refreshing and interesting. Charls has one of the most incredible faces I have ever seen, very striking features, making every shot of him captivating. He has the face of an actor.
We have never been more back. Empirically.
10 years, 40 years, 200 years; how 'bout I'm doin' none of them?

Feels like prequel for that sketch.
COP KILLER
"How could something be this GOOD" - Charls Carroll
Wasn't sure where this was going at first, but I liked it a lot. It was cool seeing Charls as a tech-induced noir detective.
I miss old noirs, Chuck killed it in this. Would love more of this style!
Charles is so fucking good at acting.
Lynchian sounds i love it.
CHARLS HOLY SHIT
CEO pfp

Y'all be thinkin dis be classic noir, when it's actually cinema veritae. They just followed this dude around with a camera documentary style. Pure kino.
After watching this I believe that Charls needs to make a film with Neil Breen. Great stuff!
And the kino was the friends we made along the way.

You can tell the love for movies in the making of this
I’ve been waiting for this since you announced it. It didn’t disappoint. Loved the twilight zone/lynchian style. Charls was great. Feature length with Charls when?
Chuck and I are working on a feature right now
@@TheKinoCorner Excellent!
We need more serious charls! I love his comedy obviously, but god damn can he spar with the best in the drama zone!
Didnt think I'd see a noir 'Vanilla Sky', but here we are.
This collab is legendary I’m so excited
Got that old TV audio down 100% soo good man. And I'm an audio man...verified at that 📱
"You want to live like a god? Come to the streets of Providence!"
"So why don't you just kill me now and we'll call it a relationship well lived..." X'D
This is a huge accomplishment, you and Charls ought to be hugely proud of this. Excellently acted and beautifully shot. Congratulations to all involved and I'm certainly looking forward to your next project.
Hey dude love your stuff. What have you been up to lately?
Holy moly, amazing work brother. High quality
This is beautiful stuff Kinoman
Love how authentic this feels. Shot on film, long takes, sharp dialog, and smooth delivery. Really comes across like everyone involved actually gave a damn. Great stuff.
Thank you for the banger performance Charls.
Finally a fuckin’ aesthetic project!!! Audio and video is spot on KINO and authentic. Congratulations
Let me get you a bar, at the drink
This is fuckin’ awesome!! A work of art, a pleasure to enjoy! Thank you.
Charls is absolute platinum when it comes to this kind of stuff. Good job.
Now this a short film. VERIFIED.
Really enjoyed this. Hopefully there is more from this collab.
Charls was destined for a Philip Marlowe roll
Good lord. This is incredible.
We are blessed, boys
❤
Thanks Charls ❤, Thanks TKC.
Not even 2 minutes in and we got refrences to hey hex. Nice
"I can see now they only recruit from ASU." Hahahahahahaha

the switch of the words delicate and private gave me an aneurysm
See boys now that’s a motion picture 🥸

@@croinkix both excellent films
Machinist vibes at the end.
That’s a kino from me, boss
so awesome dude, made a beautiful piece
Incredible. 14:30 has Rene Magritte written all over it. Love this
10 years, 40 years, 200 years? How 'bout I'm doin' none of them?
Very slick project and something TH-cam could use more of! The soundtrack was great, love the progressive movement from classic noir jazz to uncanny synths as it all starts unraveling.
Dude this cooked! The cinematography was by far my favorite! I really liked the Twilight Zone style plot. Please do more of these asap!
It's arrived!!
Thank you for this
Loved this so much
5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes…how about I’m watching all of it.
Charls is godlike
hell yeah that was pretty sweet.
Absolutely incredible
Now the streams make sense
Literally me.
very kino
Watched it, restarted, and watched again lol
This needs to be featured on the Criterion Channel, man. So fucking kino!!!
Jazz club location was really killer honestly
This was better than most of what I've seen in theatre's this year
Love the China town vibe. This was great.
"Who is he?" "An annoying tech billionaire" 😂
This was fire
really beautiful, thank you for making your art
this was so good, and the palace episode too. you seem very cool. im gonna spam this link everywhere, cheers
10/10. My kinda art, your stuff is honestly fantastic mate make more shorts. Your content is class. Ps. Love from Scotland
Truly classic times
The more I watch it the more I like it. I love that the ending is fully digital. For now I will assume this is all about the loss of analog technology/methodology and its incredible beauty, and whether or not we can preserve it. If Twin Peaks: The Return claims we can never truly go back, this asks if that's actually true. I think we can go back, and do, and you have done.
Excellent, well done.
Charls Carroll's Darkplace.
This popped up at a perfect time, just after I was thinking about playing LA Noire. Awesome stuff.
